Everything about the place - the wonderful and generous hosts, the onsen facilities with the amazing view of Mt. Tanigawa, and the exquisite meals (the kaiseki dinner was one of the best meals we've had in Japan). To top it all, the father of the family, a Shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) master builder and player, performed before the guest after dinner. Moreover, the Ryokan surroundings in the lovely Tanigawa onsen village is perfectly located if you plan on hiking in the Minakami area.
A lot of thought has obviously gone into this amazing property, from the private hydrogen bath to the Michelin standard food to the beautiful decor. The owner loves his job and it shows. We've stayed in ryokan that cost much more and weren't half as comfortable or stylish
Fine food, clean rooms, quiet, private, wonderful spa.
this hotel owns by a family and all of the members are very friendly. I appreciated the excellent food and warm welcome in this hotel. staffs are friendly for checking information as this is the 1st time of us to ski in this area. very thoguhtful to pick us up from station. I highly recommend the super hydrogen spa as its a private spa with views.
Perfect all along. Incredible staff.
