Pros: Lovely breakfast with home made preserves.
Cons: Air conditioning.
Pros: Lovely place to stay, whether for one night or many. Our hosts couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, both in advance and in person. Gorgeous breakfast, lovely room; shame we didn't have time to get in the pool. Thanks so much for everything.
Pros: Clean, quiet, and comfortable room. The ample breakfast included with the stay was spectacular and one of the best we’ve ever had in our many trips to Southern France. The numerous cheeses, charcuterie, fresh fruit salad, breads and croissants, cake, fresh juices and many varieties of homemade jam made from fruit grown on the property were all fresh, local and delicious.
Pros: The owners are lovely. Imagine a fairy tale about a French grandmother who lives in a farmhouse; this is it. Lots of space, authentic charm, excellent breakfast with homemade produce, open fire in the dining area. We liked everything about it. Good restaurants in the nearby village. Our room had a private roof terrace - recommend getting that one if you can.
Cons: The road to the village isn't ideal for walking in the evening - it's better to drive to the restaurant.
Pros: Beautiful location. Very comfortable room with table and chairs outside the room. Pool was very refreshing after a day in the car. On the outskirts of a small village with a couple of restaurants. We tried the less expensive one. They were catering for a wedding and seemed a bit disorganised. Food was average at best. I suspect the other restaurant would have been a better choice. The nearby village of Mirmande is spectacularly beautiful and well worth a visit. This is an area we would hope to revisit and spend more time in. We would certainly stay here again.
Pros: This place is like paradise! beautiful surroundings, huge garden with all kinds of trees and plants. The owners are just great - so nice. friendly and warm. We had an entire floor all for us including an air conditioner, beautiful bathroom and a nice bedroom. Everything was very clean. The fresh fruit and the home made jams for breakfast were wonderful. This is a must visit place!!
Pros: We loved the location and the hospitality. Beautiful old farm house with wonderful swimming pool. This place has lots of heart and love in everything it stands for. Thank you to your wonderful family Madam Chabriere, And to you too. Susanna and Quincy
Pros: Therese and Jacques were fantastic hosts - very friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting in the peaceful countryside and yet very close to 2 neighbouring villages which were easily accessible by foot for dinner in the evenings. The converted farmhouse was lovely and very tastefully furnished with antiques. There was a swimming pool, and a roof terrace with outstanding views.
Cons: No drawbacks for us.
Pros: The property is a very old, interesting, farmhouse in lovely grounds, and we had to put GPS co-ordinates in the sat-nav in order to find it! We received a nice welcome from the cheerful lady owner, who, because we were the first guests to arrive, let us choose which room we wanted. She recommended a restaurant (La Fontaine) in the village for dinner, and because there was a concert on that evening and it would be busy, she came back and said she'd booked for us, which was very kind. We had a walk through the fields up to the village, meeting a couple of locals for a chat on the way, and collected handfuls of figs on our way back, which we handed in for everyone to share at breakfast. Comfortable bed, good shower, plenty to eat at communal breakfast, friendly host - what's not to like?
Cons: Not being able to stay longer and explore the area.
Located in Cliousclat, Chambres d'hôtes Lou Cliou is within a 5-minute drive of Poterie de Cliousclat and Museum of the Unusual. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Felt welcome on the minute we arrived, the breakfast area is very nice.
Cons: Nothing really
Cons: Host was very unfriendly after a long journey with two children from spain the host provided us with very little information and made us feel like an inconvenience even though this accommodation had been booked 10 months ago. He was very snappy with the children and when I greeted him the next morning with "bonjour" he replied without even looking up from his laptop - just rude !!!!! Would not book again and would not reccomend to others.
Pros: Excellent Continental breakfast, nice location to stop off from motorway where it was nice and peaceful and some nice villages to visit nearby
Cons: Double room upstairs was quite compact in height but the listing did mention this.
Pros: Lovely setting, excellent hostess very helpful with things to see and do also recommended a lovely little brasserie in the village for dinner and made a reservation for us. Breakfast was very good nice selection of foods including fresh fruit and home made jams.
Cons: Nothing all good
Pros: The establishment was very traditional, accommodation was lovely. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The swimming pool was the icing on the cake before we began the next leg of our journey. Breakfast was also excellent and the local scenery beautiful
Pros: The owners are extremely kind people. The swimming pool was nice. The breakfast was very good. This was a very original place with a strong personality. Its different than any other place we have been before.
Cons: Still looking for....
Pros: Quirky and outside eating area.
Cons: The bedroom was in the attic and had to climb a ladder to get up. No space to move and small bed Not conducive if you aren’t a youngster having to climb down to the bathroom at night. Room was very small.
Located in Mirmande, Hôtel de Mirmande is in a rural location, a 3-minute drive from Poterie de Cliousclat and 10 minutes from Museum of the Unusual. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Breakfast was offered indoors or outside on a shady terrace. The staff were extremely helpful. The room was quiet and comfortable with a good view. There was secure car-parking on site.
Cons: As with many of the "plus beaux villages", the village of Mirmande seemed more intended for tourists than for local life. But this is no criticism of the hotel itself, which really did meet our needs.
Pros: The service was excellent
Pros: Glorious views over idyllic countryside. Postcard perfect village. What not to like?
Cons: Nothing. Service was impeccable.
Pros: Staff were very nice and very helpful, I went for a wedding we had a lovely stay in your hotel.
Pros: It was a fairly tale village and a beautiful property. Loved everything about it. We were traveling with older parents and this hotel was very comfortable. The hostess at the reception didn't speak much english but she was extremely generous and hospitable. It was an amazing experience. We had requested room with easy access for my parents and the hotel took care of it. The location was perfect with lush green views. The breads, meats and fresh jams at the breakfast were great. We had made dinner reservations at their restaurant Margot. Oh!! that was a lovely experience. We had the pleasure to meet the owner Manu. We chatted and enjoyed 3 hr dinner. The setting was perfect. The food and hospitality was top notch. We had planned to visit Manu's restaurant AU 35 in Paris but didn't get the opportunity to do so. We will visit soon. I really have to thank Manu for providing us a memorable experience. My parents still miss the place. We will return for sure. Thank you!! It was a home away from home.
Pros: Excellent location. A beautiful village just a few minutes from the A7. Perfect for an overnight stop en route to Uzes. Lovely hotel, great to have breakfast on the patio.
Cons: Very hot in the room overnight. The fan helped but air con would make a big difference.
Pros: Beautiful location. Wonderful staff
Cons: Everything was perfect
Cons: No air conditioning...very small room
Pros: The receptionist was very friendly and very helpful. We loved the rooms and the location.
Cons: We liked everything. There was nothing to dislike.
Pros: Location was beautiful and view from our room was lovely. Lady on reception was so helpful and friendly. We didn't take the breakfast option but enjoyed coffee before setting off. Dinner in the restaurant in the village, which we booked in advance through the hotel, was great.
Cons: Room was quiet small for a double, but suitable for a night's stopover.
Located in Le Pouzin, Hôtel Restaurant La Cardinale is in a rural location, a 3-minute drive from Roman Bridge and 9 minutes from Museum of the Unusual. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Room smelled bit unfresh Would appreciate to have swim towels and coffee in the room
Pros: Location just stunning. Very friendly owner. Vegetarian friendly restaurant. Delicious food, good wine.
Pros: A fabulous little place, the rooms were separate and had their own little terrace with sun loungers and French doors leading into the bedroom. Our bathroom was fantastic with double sinks and fabulous shower, we would definitely return. We also ate in the restaurant, the food was delicious.
Pros: The breakfast was absolutely divine
Cons: There is no real common place or bar to meet outside the dining room
Pros: The food here was lovely, and the lady was most helpful.
Cons: We were travelling with a dog and were put in a room away from the hotel. The air conditioning wasn’t that good.
Pros: The restaurant serves amazing and imaginative food. The best we ate in France.
Pros: What a place and what amazing people running it. This is one if the best experiences i have ever had at a hotel anywhere in the world. The owners were amazing and place just magical. If i had paid 5 times more i still would have said it was amazing value for money. Really they deserve to be supported and I can mot wait to come back and stay longer. Simply Magic
Cons: I could not fault anything
Pros: Comfortable well pointed garden room, spacious en suite bathroom/shower room, large swimming pool with spectacular distant views. Excellent restaurant, good, well presented food. Highly recommended for overnight stay. Hosts most welcoming.
Pros: We stayed in the family suite. The furnishings were beautiful and the bed was incredibly comfortable with the softest cotton sheets. One of the best sleeps ever. We loved the huge pool too and the pretty gardens.
Cons: I wish breakfast had been included in the price. An extra €52 for us to eat breakfast seemed a little steep when our boys would only have an orange juice and a croissant each and we would only want coffee and some fresh fruit.
Pros: Fantastic food, beautifully presented and gorgeous property. A perfect stay and would definitely book again if in the area.
Located in Cliousclat, La Treille Muscate is a 1-minute drive from Poterie de Cliousclat and 8 minutes from Museum of the Unusual. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great accommodation, wonderful food and wine selection. Great hosts with attention to detail. The village is fascinating with very impressive potteries and artists willing to talk about their work. The walks around the village, although short, are picturesque. A pleasure to be there and can recommend as a five star hotel for comfort, food, wine and relaxed atmosphere. If you are in the area do not miss it.
Pros: Located is charming Village! Evening dinner or drinks served on outdoor patio overlooking countryside, restaurant or on street front. Restaurant meals were wonderful!
Pros: Most gorgeous location you can find in Provence.. with outstanding food, an amazing building, terraces & views to take your breath away
Cons: Breakfast - could be more elaborate (english tea, cooked food), more staff to serve
Pros: The hotel is situated in a beautiful village. The hotel is a Provençal delight. Our room was spacious, with lovely views across the countryside. The furnishing were typical of the area. The bed was comfortable & the bathroom was big & practical. We had dinner, set in the delightful outdoor area with a great view. We opted for the set priced menu which was first class & great value for money. We had breakfast on the terrace before we left which was both delicious & copious. If you’re planning a visit to this area we would strongly recommend this hotel & the restaurant.
Cons: Nothing, we liked everything about this charming hotel.
Pros: Very nice atmosphere. Manager very helpful. Good breakfast
Cons: WE didn't know that their restaurant was closed on Mondays
Pros: Nice location, very friendly English staff. Spend. The night whilst on the way to south Spain with my brother in law and two dogs. Could not have been better. Thanks for the splendid service and hope my dogs did not wake up too many guests with their barking ( only a bit in the morning). See you next time.
Pros: Beautiful village. Rural location not too far from motorway. Fabulous food. Secure car park.
Cons: In an area of orchards and they had just sprayed the trees so lots of flies around.
Pros: New ownership a poor comparison with previous. Casual, untidy. No thought for guests. General state of disrepair.
Cons: No meals available on Monday, even in August. We were locked out twice in one day, once when owner away having lunch, secondly on returning in evening having to eat away
Pros: This hotel is small romantic and cosy:)
Cons: We had dinner there the night we arrived. The food was very average
Pros: Beautiful outdoor terrace restaurant as well as the indoor one.
The ibis Montélimar Nord hotel is located close to the Ardèche gorges in the heart of the Drôme Provençale. It is 5 minutes away from the A7 highway (exit 17). The hotel offers 29 Double Rooms, 22 Superior Triple Rooms with terraces, and 8 Family Rooms, a ll air conditioned, a restaurant, bar, 24-hour snacks, a pool with solarium, a terrace, 3 meeting rooms, and a free enclosed private car park. There are tennis courts and a golf course 10 minutes away.
Pros: Breakfast choice was nicely laid out. But my fish brochette and rice was tasty. I could eat late!
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: We have been overcharged by the hotel after booking on booking.com. The lady at reception was very rude and did not want to accept responsibility for their policies on booking.com. At least booking.com stood up to my expectations and refunded me the overcharged amount. The facility was neglected. Except for the bad experience with the woman at reception, the rest was ok.
Cons: No tea/coffee available in room. No fridge.
Pros: Very friendly staff, lovely to splash in the pool after a long journey and walk into a clean room.
Cons: No tea or coffee making facilities.
Pros: Very quiet and peaceful . Stayed loads of times. Receptionist was lovely and very friendly
Cons: Could have done with a couple of extra towels. But I'm just being picky
Pros: Great location. Restaurant on site is fantastic plus. Great breakfast.
Pros: The restaraunt was a bad experience the service was very poor and the head waiter was very rude
Pros: Spacious and clean
Cons: A little isolated. And it isn’t situated where Booking.com think it is on their website!
Pros: 2 minutes from the motorway, next door to Courtepaille, with a pool, the set up is better then that of the other motels at that exit. Breakfast was also ok. Convenient stopover.
Cons: Apart from the pool and actual staff, there was little to the experience to justify a price twice that of next door.
Pros: Good value for money. Staff helpful. Room adequate though the bed was somewhat large for the available space.
Cons: The hotel was booked as it had a restaurant on site but on arrival this was not available as it has been booked for a private function. This would have been helpful to know at time of booking. An alternative restaurant was available nearby but if this hadn't been so could have caused problems as the hotel's location was not near to the town.
Combining Nature and Modernity, the ibis Loriol Le Pouzin hotel, which opened in 2010, is ideally situated at the foot of the Ardèche mountains, on the banks of the Rhône and on the Via Rhôna cycle route (from Léman to the Sea). Just 2 min from exit 16 of the A7 Autoroute du Soleil and 15 min from the Privas Préfecture, it's the ideal starting point for visiting the Ardèche, its gorges and the Drôme Provençale. The 24-hour hotel has 41 rooms, 1 restaurant, 1 bar, free WIFI and 1 free private car park.
Cons: Slow internet.. only 100kb/s
Pros: We had an issue with our room in that it was smokey - I liked that we were moved without any issue
Cons: The breakfast was not good, there was limited choice and nobody there to ask questions. Coffee wasn’t great.
Pros: Clean and comfortable room
Cons: No food option on site or close by
Pros: Right on the Via Rhonda bike path. Know what to expect.
Cons: A miscommunication- we arrived early and put luggage in our twin room. The staff thought we had stayed the night before and were turning down the maid service. So our room was never cleaned after the previous guests. The hotel made up for it by supplying two single rooms for the cost of a twin.
Pros: Good cheap hotel with decent service and clean rooms. Basic but all you need for one night stop over.
Cons: Breakfast was a little disappointing, expected more variety. Bathroom had a broken light which flickered non stop.
Pros: The parking was excellent & the pizza restaurant at the hotel was ok.
Cons: There wasn't a lot open in Pouzin on Sunday ie restaurants etc. A kebab shop was the only thing around
Cons: Breakfast not as good on the second morning. The toaster had disappeared, along with the honey.
Pros: The location to where I was working was superb clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful.
Cons: The TV had no English speaking channels, there was BBC World but it did not work.
Pros: The hotel was close to where I was working so very convenient. The restaurant menu is quiet limited.
Cons: The air conditioning unit was very dirty and not very efficient I imagine due to its state of cleanliness. The breakfast items were not covered and usually had flying insects on them.
Cons: - My credit card did not work on the device first, the hostess had to fetch another device - There was dust on the roof/walls of my room
This ibis budget (formerly Etap Hotel) is an economy hotel built in 2010, equipped with all the latest innovations and located on the edge of the southern Ardeche, 15 mins from the regional capital Privas, on the banks of the Rhone. The hotel, open 24 hoursa day, is the ideal base for many excursions and walks in the Ardeche and Drome Provencale regions and near the planned 'Lake Geneva to the Sea' cycle route. It also offers a free car park, complimentary WIFI and is next door to an Italian restaurant.
Pros: Beds and duvets lovely. Croissants delightful. We stayed on a Sunday night when everywhere was shut so we walked across the bridge to the town and found the only restaurant open was the pizzeria where the draft Grimbergen was good enough to tempt us to have a refresher. The primavera pizza was good too with a nice thin crust. This ibis (budget) was the only place we found for miles around where the consistency of their product could be reliable.
Cons: Slightly worried by the high security fencing and gates. Clearly a high crime area???
Pros: The hotel is located not so far from Valence, with attractive view. Picturesque restaurant.
Cons: Very relaxing. Although I was impressed to have there diner with my family. It was far from my expectations, I had impression that the food was prepared before or it was taken from fridge and heated after
Pros: super clean. nice location.
Cons: storage space in the room is a bit limited .....
Pros: Perfect for overnight stop on route to the Ardèche.
Pros: Ibis budget Loriol Le Pouzin has a very kind and professional people. The location is perfect, beautiful and quiet. The breakfast is good and the area to eat is large. We arrive 3am in the morning (due to car malfuction) and the person who receive us was very kind. He helped us nevertheless we didn't had reservation.
Cons: The bathroom area. It's too small for a family. To travel alone or with a couple is fine. However if you travel with a relative there's very little private space to shower or use the sanitary. Another feedback is necessary to clean the A/C unit.
Pros: The coffee machine in the lobby was nice. They let us keep our bikes in a conference room. A short walk across a bride to the small town of Le Pouzin. Good wifi, nice people, comfy beds.
Cons: The double bed was made but the bunk bed, where I was sleeping, was not, but the bedding was in a bag on the bed. The duvet cover could have been a little cleaner, it had been washed but had some hairs clinging to it still. Not too big a deal, it is a budget hotel after all. We also had an empty toilet roll and only half a spare, which made me feel like our room had been a little neglected during housekeeping. But the front desk was friendly when we asked for more and gave us three rolls to take up.
Pros: Lovely staff very helpful, good parking
Cons: Food was a bit limited, not a great breakfast
With a stay at Hotel Campanile Montelimar - Les Tourrettes in Les Tourrettes, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Poterie de Cliousclat and Museum of the Unusual. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Planning an event in Les Tourrettes? This hotel has facilities measuring 646 square feet (60 square meters), including a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: the area is very good lots to see
Pros: Close to motorway, come off the motorway and its there
Pros: Campanile rooms are very standard. Decent bed, decent shower, enough for a good night’s sleep. Very close to the motorway and perfect for an early start down to our holiday home.
Cons: The buffet starters and desserts are ok in the restaurant and breakfast was fine. However we had a lamb steak for main course and, although seared on the outside, was cold in the middle. We will stick with simple food next time!
Pros: do not eat breakfast only coffee in the room
Cons: Missing bed when we checked in (bed for two only when we had booked for three)!!! Called the reception and was told they were not going to do anything about it. Unbelievable!! Also, one socket was off the wall in the bathroom and dangerously close to the water / faucet.
Pros: Ideal location for the motorway. The room was clean and refurbed, bed was comfortable.
Cons: Outside of the building needs renovating. Wifi not working. Air conditioning has no impact on the room temperature even on the lowest setting and on full power.
Pros: Saving grace is that it is literally metres from the toll booth on the A7.
Cons: If you know the old style motel type Comlpanies, then this is one, updated with the new livery. Gourmand on site restaurant slightly on the pricey side. The waitress that served us had no English, but the receptionist/ owner did. As with most of these old style Campanile hotels, the rooms smell of smoke, even though they are non smoking.
Pros: The food was excellent
Cons: Bedroom very basic and needed redecorating. Also very hot in room
Located in Les Tourrettes, Premiere Classe Montelimar - Les Tourettes is within a 15-minute drive of Poterie de Cliousclat and Museum of the Unusual. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The breakfast was excellent...the mattress was comfortable...and it was easy to find off motorway...be prepared for train noise...didn't bother us
Cons: The whole place needs revamping...we stayed at one in Reims and it wasn't up to that standard...there was no receptionist when we arrived early...no machines to get a coffee...outside space was tired....
Pros: Teaches you that you can survive with the bare minimum
Cons: The bunk bed is too close to the ceiling. Also, while showering, water comes out from underneath the bathroom door. Because the bathroom is like a motorhome bathroom, it’s a sink, toilet, and shower combination - all in a tiny closet.
Cons: Not able to sleep, to loud and the room smelled like smole
Pros: There was nothing to like except that very friendly women at the reception-handling the disaster...
Cons: The Room smelled like mold and old sport-socks.Bathroom doorlock broken, lights above the beds are not working, dirt and mold everywhere. Inside the room water was running down one wall.mold traces !
Pros: close to the motorway, facilities like restaurant etc, clean, big parking
Pros: Really good staff. Good meal across the road at Campanile with discount from Premier Classe. Helpful in storing our bikes.
Cons: Shower was too small - no soap/shampoo.
Pros: Not much
Cons: Poor hygiene. Small room. Narrow beds. Bathroom door did not close or lock. generally run down. Would mot stay again!
Pros: Close to motorway and Campenile Restaurant
Cons: Needs slight renovation and close to rail track
Located in Saulce-sur-Rhone, Lemon Hôtel Saulce-sur-Rhone is within a 15-minute drive of Poterie de Cliousclat and Museum of the Unusual. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Convenient place for an overnight stop
Cons: Nice manager and his wife. Simple hotel but good price/quality.
Pros: The hotel is cheap, and located just next to the highway. Good to stay overnight in a long journey, better then to sleep in the car.
Cons: We booked a triple room for two adults and two kids (2 and 5 y.o.), which was permitted by the rules, listed on booking.com. When we arrived at 20.30, the drunk manager was explaining that four persons are not allowed in a triple room, however finally gave us the room. The room is really small, but has a fridge and a TV, and one may use a microwave in the common area. So, It is acceptable for the price for a night, even for 2+2 people. When I met the manager an hour later, he lost the ability to speak clearly (at least in English). However, if you arrive after 21.00, you check-in through a vending machine, and do not have a chance to meet the guy.
Pros: The service
Pros: The staff was very good. We booked only one room for a family (which was wrong) but they served us an extra mattress asap, that was great. The rooms are fairly small, but we traveled as a family, so: For the price it's OK, if you just need something to sleep.
