Located in a quiet area and plenty of parking space.
Just about everything. You feel welcome from the moment you enter the hotel. The open plan layout of the public areas gives a spacious & airy appeal. It’s also noticeably clean with a modern decor. The staff on reception greet you with a welcoming smile and are very pleasant & helpful. Entering the room, a standard double, it is clean, bright & spacious with lots of storage space. A wall length desk to work at. The shower room is large, also houses the wash hand basin. The toilet is in a separate room. There’s a safe in the room and a very useful little fridge. Amazingly, this is stocked with complimentary drinks: 1 each of coke, Diet Coke, fresh orange & water. If, like me, you don’t take fizzy drinks, especially not coke, it’s no trouble to swap these for 1 of the other available choices. The AC works, as does the free WiFi. One of the windows opens to allow fresh air. The view, though there’s little to see but open space, is lovely & relaxing. Out of interest, my friend who booked at the last minute resulting in a shortage of available rooms. Had to opt for a slightly more expensive room. However, it was noticeably bigger. Plus the bathroom had both a bath and separate shower - which, again, was bigger and it had a glass wall to keep the water within the shower area. There was also a very useful wall mirror in the room.
A few small touches would have set the room above perfect: It would have benefited fro having a separate wall mirror in the room rather than having to pop into the bathroom every time you wanted to check your dress, fix your hair, makeup ......particularly when someone else was already using that mirror. I have no idea why no glass wall was fitted to the shower ..... even when being very careful with the shower, the floor area beyond the shower would end up soaked. Luckily it was obvious from first glance that would happen hence I’d moved the floor mat out of reach before showering. The area around the wash hand basin would benefit from a useful shelf/ shelves for toiletries (toothbrush/paste, face creams etc) It’s a little inconvenient having the toilet located in a separate room (though, some guests might prefer that when sharing). The room which houses the toilet would benefit from a shelf (the room is small but the wall at the back of the toilet would be suitable). It would be a useful place to keep personal toilet items (and even your mobile phone) rather than everything having to sit on the floor where it is in the way of the housekeeper and can be wet (from the daily wash).
Everything is good in this hotel.
At arrival in the evening, only 1 person behingdthe reception with a queu of 6 persons. After 15 min waiting decided to go for dinner first. Having fish and chicken, no bowls for putting the bones. After dinner back to the reception, no one there. Waited for 4 minutes. The person comes, phone rings and decides to pick uo the phone first and lets me wait for minutes again. extremely small square pillows on the bed..the gym is not worth it. Worst thing; Room 143 is the junior suite, which you pay extra for. Is right above 6 garbage bins. Which the retaurant decided to fill or empty at 1 am in the morning.
The room was more specious than I expected and very clean. The cleaner left a card with her name on it and some chocolate which was very attentive. The balcony was a nice surprise as it had a great view of the sunset. The personnel was also very attentive. Everyone greeted us and the guy who checked us in asked us if everything was all-right when he crossed us as we were going out on the first day. Also, we were Dutch speaking and the staff really did their best to speak Dutch even though it's not their first language. We also ordered our dinner via roomservice once, and it was very beautifully presented and very tasteful! Props to the chefs. Not to mention, served quickly :) It's also within walking distance from the train station
We used the cups, and the cleaner threw them away every time. But they were never refilled. When we asked for them, we got them but it would've been nice if they were refilled. I've never had to pay with creditcard before, but I thought it was annoying that first an amount was withdrawn from my creditcard but when we checked-out we had to pay for the room by card nevertheless. I wished they would've just kept the money they withdrawn from my creditcard because this felt like a big hassle
