Using the booking agency was okay... my reservation was not confirmed with the hotel until the day I arrived and after multiple calls to the booking agency. Because my booking was prepaid, using the booking agency, I was not able to take advantage of any of the benefits of being a Hilton Honors Rewards member...that was not cool.

Pros (+) I loved the location and the quality of the rooms and the quality of the service. While its an older property it's in good shape and everything works. Its a great place to base a stay in Monterey

Pros (+) We liked the rooms, the grounds, the staff and the location. And the breakfast was much better than we expected.
Cons (-) We could hear the people in the next room talking and especially the kids.

Cons (-) We prepaid for the room online and upon our 8pm arrival we were informed that we were "lucky" that our room was still available (what!?). Once in our room, we found that the toilet was broken; water ran all night, even after maintenance "fixed" the issue at 11pm. The shower was broken. So no baths for us!
