Friendly staff and comfortable room.
Lack of service at local restaurant (Rusty Spur). We ended up at the local drive in which served grass fed beef burgers.
Very much liked the lobby. Very nicely decorated to get us in the mood for the next several days in the Black Hills. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. They were clean and very welcoming since we didn’t get in until 1am!’ Robin, the lady at the front desk was delightful and so accommodating, especially considering she offered to wait for us to get in. Told us to drive safely when we called in with the news that we were not going to get into Murdo from Illinois until very late. She was supposed to close up the office at 1am. We arrived only minutes before and obviously kept her past quitting time but she didn’t show it one bit. The lady who had the day shift was equally cordial and helpful with finding a good place to find lunch (The Drive In was fantastic!! Not your ordinary driving food. Freshly made burger with meat from a nearby farm!!!
My only disappointment was the distance from some of the sites we Wanted to hit on our first day in SD. However, with help from the front desk, we discovered the Minuteman Missile sight, an authentic Prairie Homestead, Prairie Dog haven and found that the hour + drive to the badlands wasn’t too bad. We even got ourselves up at 4am the next day to drive out and watch the sunrise over the Badlands!!
Very Western, very comfortable.
Toilet was too short
Everything was fine with the property except the lack of choices for eating within walking distance. The restaurant affiliated with the property on serves pizza. The staff at the front desk both morning and evening seemed bothered when we asked for help.
