Staff, location and comfort for a family NYC visit. Like staying in an Airbnb with breakfast included.
COVID took away much of what is normal, so ignoring that (the hotel was great adjusting to hygiene standards), perhaps allowing the windows to fully close in all the bedrooms. We had window units, much needed in summer but we visited in December, and one bedroom had the sounds of NYC due to it potruding inside the window that could be shut to block the noise. We adjusted and the other bedroom window closed.
Lovely suites with helpful staff
We enjoyed being a family in family accomodations. I was expecting it to be mainly a business place, but instead there were other families stayng there. Also there were international guests which were fun to interact with.
Our kitchen did not have a paring knife and we can no longer travel with knives which I have done in years past, so I think it would be nice to have one there.
Good value for money. Great location, very close to main attractions, just in the center of the city. Good breakfast. One bed-room appartment is big and comfortable.
There was a little bit noisy on the room.
The suite itself was very spacious
The outside noise was deafening we had 6 hours sleep in 3 days. garbage trucks collecting rubbish at 1am til 2am every evening. interior could have been more modern.
Incredibly spacious, comfortable 2 bedroom apartment, plenty of room for the 5 of us. Living room about 25' square, lovely to crash out in the evenings. Perfect location, easy walking (5mins) to Rockerfeller Plaza and ice rink and 5th Ave shops. 5 mins opposite direction to neighbourhood shops on 2nd Ave, inc a $25 mani pedi! Easy walk to Grand Central Station, Empire State, Central Park, Times Square, about 20 mins to each, 10 mins walk to moma. V. close to 2 subways and so access to everywhere. Smart neighbourhood, next door to w Hotel for cocktails in the bar. Right next door is a takeaway pizza slice place (v good value $17 for 5,) and a nice relaxed italian restaurant - Linda's cafe, and another on the other side. We had a fab time!
Horribly noisy bedrooms due to old air con units that aren't soundproofed - hotel opposite has deliveries all night long. It was late to sleep and early to wake each day! Our son on the sofa bed slept like a log as he had no road noise. Rear apartments probably better noisewise. Exceedingly cheap plastic cutlery at breakfast (why?), try and spread butter and the knives bend backwards, - we took the knives down from the apartment. Best Western is a global brand if they can't provide proper cutlery (space restrictions in tiny kitchen, they should check out how submarines do it) they should at least provide plastic cutlery that works, it was the only off note in a great stay. The manager said they would upgrade the plastic.
Central location; large suite, handy kitchenette. Free internet access and printer (handy for online check in). Helpful staff.
Small breakfast room, but could take food up to own suite. Traffic/street noise ++ (ear plugs provided). Wireless internet unreliable.
Internet never worked, telephone worked only part of the time
It was like a home away from home. Very comfortable.
The Mon.-Fri. day staff was wonderful. Loved the extra towels, bedding, breakfast in room. Location was good.
Wonderful property...felt like had our own private flat in the middle of Manhattan! Clean, comfortable and great for a family of 3 or 4 folks. Can't wait to return soon!
I liked the fact that we had two rooms.
The lobby could be spruced up a bit!
