I was really impressed by the quaint and vintage elevator doors! It’s a great location and an even better price!
Be warned though the rooms are not spacious and the bathrooms are in a separate room but still pleaseantly close!
One of the Best Places to Stay
Great staff, room, price and location! What more could you want!
Bathrooms were in the halls and not the rooms, but that wasn't really a problem for me. The rooms do include sinks, so that helps.
All around wonderful!
Spent the evening here with friends and loved ones for the Thanksgiving Day parade. Lot's of great energy and a beautiful location with on the street parking right outside! It made a great day all the more special! Friendly staff and economic pricing!
It was a great price for the location, walking distance to Time Square, Central Park, and more! And very close to subway stations. The staff was very accommodating and flexible with our reservations. The room was a tight fit, but that is how everything is in New York.
Just not laid out perfectly for a tall person. Chairs in room, mirrors in room + bathroom, look very nice and are probably vintage, but that means they are suitable for bodies close to 100 years ago. The American high calorie diet continues to produce ever fatter & taller people, who don't fit well into things build long ago.
Place has no character, warmth. Staff is mute. No interaction. No hello how are you. Felt like walking into a grim institution.
Excellent location. Very close to public transportation. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Friendly staff.
Rooms are very small and bathrooms are shared. Neither of these were an issue for me, but could be for some people. Internet did not work while I was there.
Great location in NY, close to good deli's and subway. Shared bathrooms were okay but a little inconvenient.
Ancient elevator was a bit cramped.
bathroom, some room be seperated
Great location, helpful staff
Struggling with luggage through heavy doors and a lift that is way too small.
The price of the hotel for the location in New York was excellent. The Hotel is very basic and share bathrooms are not ideal, but as nearly every other Manhattan hotel was 3 x the price for the Marathon weekend, I was delighted to have saved the money to spend on other things
Shared bathrooms are not great but we were aware of this and accepted this as a reason for the lower price
The location of the hotel was good will subway near by and between Park and Lex Avenue.
The photos show a great deal of artistic licence, rooms significantly smaller and extremely dated. Definitely wouldn't stay here again.
I didn`t like the hotel at all
No comfort , restroom at corridor, no wardrobe.... Dirty
The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a room with a shared bathroom in the hallway to save money which we had never done before. The bathrooms were always spotless and we never had to wait to use one. The room was small but perfectly formed, and had everything we needed in it. There was a sink, open closet, shelving, telephone and alarm clock. The hotel was perfect for us, we only used the hotel to sleep and wash. When you go to New York the hotel is not the important part. I wanted somewhere cheap, cheerful and clean and that is what we got. We would definately stay here again.
Not one thing.
The location is great. Subway station is a 5 minute walk away. Hotel staff are very friendly. The lift to the upper floors is a comedy one. Cheap for New York and nice sized rooms. I would stay tehre again.
The room and the shared bathroom were always cleaned up, at every possible hour. The position is amazing and the view on the Empire State Building was breathtaking. Near to MTA and to a numbers of restaurant and to a supermarket. Fares are reasonable, compared to the position and the perfect room service offered. I will highly recomend this hotel.
The reception staff was sometimes unkind and rude. The request of a little help in the check-out phase was welcomed with some diffuse grunting and with an annoyed expression. The payment terms has to be redifined.
The Location - quite 31st street on the Manhattan. The hotel itself is good value for money.
I faced only one strange fact. We booked in advance the room with private bathroom. But on arriving (while checking in) the man on the front desk said that our room is not ready because prevoius guests with children spole some liquid on the floor and the room is beeing cleaned. He suggested to stay one night in the room with shared bathroom (the price reduced), but as were after 10 hours flight we were not happy. And while checking out the same man said to another guest (who was checking in) the same story - that their booked room with private bathroom is not available and he repeated the story about children and liquid. So, be ready to use shared bathroom on the first night (overall they are clean). Other hotel staff were good.
It was very close to all the sights, at a fair price.
No information given about how to get to the airport. No breakfast available.
