Private bath on balcony is nice.
Some of the facilities were under maintenance, such as the outdoor bath, the deck... I was only informed at check in. If I had known I would not have booked this.
Kind staff ,Beautiful location
Entire hotel smell like cigarettes and mold and very old hotel. Very minimum maintenances , public bath was broken and private open air bath wasn’t hot enough , SAME FOOD over and over expect one dinner ,very little option of buffet, Garden is wild. ......so disappointing.
the property is on the train line, it is around 10-15 min walk to the train station. Its right on the river and a bridge is nearby to get a look at the river. The onsen was nice, they have a upper level bath, w/ window view out and below is the outdoor onsen. The best part is the outdoor private bath on a private lanai if you don't want to go out of your room to get the onsen bath. We got the out door bath room so request it. staff is really nice and if you want to chill and get away from it all, this is it. We had bkfst and dinner buffet, the buffet is doable, since the property is a smaller one, has less guests. The food is doable, they had both western and asian. My hubby got his fill, he does asian as well . Sashimi and sushi and tempura .
The train is 10-15 min walk. There are no restaurants in the area so if you are not picking meal plan, you will need to go to train station to get food or plan meals accordingly. The food is modest but doable, I like western and husband like asian . He got his fill and then some.
This was not what I had expected from the description. There was nothing I liked about the Place.
It was extremly difficult to get to it - in the middle of nowhere. the staff did speak English. The food was awful. There were lots of flies about and lots of dead flies on the wall of the room. I could not wait to leave the place. In fact l only stayed one night instead of two.
The beds are very comfortable and the outdoor private bath is excellent. In the twin rooms, most couples would fit on a single bed so no issue that they don't offer double beds (at least when we went). The outdoor bath uses hot-spring water, not tap water, which was an unexpected benefit! Some variety at breakfast time, typical Japanese breakfast buffet, same level as business hotels. Nice little suspension bridge over the river behind the hotel. Staff were very friendly, rooms were very clean, with plenty of quality amenities, better than most hotels.
The dinner is a buffet dinner, the quality of the ingredients appears to be high, everything seems fresh, but the food itself is average at best, taste-wise. Some of the nicer dishes ran out, but if they didn't expect many more guests, the staff did not refill these items even if it was an hour before the "last entrance" time and 3 couples had only just sat down. Your clothes will also smell from the tempura frying if you don't sit at the far end of the hall. The hotel is about a 10min walk from the station, but you have to walk down the side of the main road and then under the tracks and past some turns, wouldn't really call it a sidewalk. They could have a little shuttle bus/van, maybe on the weekends only or for check-ins and check-outs due to the luggage... wouldn't cost the hotel much (given the rates they charge) but would be very convenient for customers coming by train.
