8.3 Excellent
Pros: Close to the station and it is by the seaside. Go down and walk along the wharf.
7.5 Good
Pros: We needed somewhere for a one night stay so we could cycle the Shimanami Kaido. This hotel is right on the harbour front and just opposite the train station so a great location. It was a very basic room, nothing special but did the job for what we needed! Came with complimentary snacks which was a nice!
Cons: Compared to some of the other accommodation we stayed in, this was quite expensive for what it was but still an enjoyable stay!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location exceptional near to onimichi station and bus to the hiroshima airport with the bay view..the facilities as value of money
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff were really nice, facilities were clean. It was super close to the train station, ferry for the cycling route and the bike hire place. They were all downstairs! They also have free flow drinks
Cons: Entrance was a bit confusing, it was one level up from the Main Street
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Decent hotel, just what you expect when you look at the pictures. The rooms were decent with a good view. A free massage chair on every floor was an unexpected pleasure.
Cons: We got sent out of the bar/lobby (both in the same space) by 22.00, which we found a bit weird. No discussion possible.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice place to take a rest for next early day biking
Cons: None

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable, the staff super helpful and friendly, lots of nice extras like the free use of a mobile phone for the duration of your stay and a free shuttle service to the station. It was a lovely place to relax after our cycle ride to Imabara and back. Comfortable bed and a nice hot bath to relax in, several very reasonable restaurants near by.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: They should tell us that the Crystal Lounge restaurant has a better range of food and is cheaper than the Ler Mer restaurant on Lv 1. Also Crystal Lounge needs an English menu please.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were wonderful. So helpful and welcoming. Cosy clean room.
Cons: Was expensive and without breakfast. Location a bit of a walk from centre but free shuttle bus was available
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is super friendly. They have a free shuttle running from the JR station (otherwise it's a 15 min walk). We enjoyed a delicious traditional Japanese breakfast, prepared very delicate.
Cons: Bit noisy (could hear TV from the room nextdoor)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Shuttle to station was nice. Rooms were clean and reasonably priced.
Cons: We booked two people per room but only had one pillow. The hotel did give us a second once asked, but it would be nice if this was taken care of prior to us asking.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Liked the staff attentiveness (even though little english was spoken) and the location and the comfortable beds and room Good Internet access was available
Cons: The lack of any western breakfast (only Japanese dishes) - there was coffee and tea available though - and the lack of even one English language TV channel
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, comfy bed, great location for completing the Shimanami Kaido, and for a friendly and delicious local okonomiyaki joint. The free local phone calls (and some international calls) was a saviour when on hold to British Airways in Tokyo for one hour during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location.
Cons: The double bed 140 cm was really too small for us (and we’re not too fat, we were there to bike!) so we luckily upgraded to a bigger room with 2 beds and space for the suitcases.
6.7 Good
Cons: Old noisey aircon , thin walls
6.3 Good
Pros: Not so much in particular. Hotel is oke, but nothing special and much too expensive. Location is in centre, at waterside. Good for walking to temples, but 15 min walking from station and start cycle path.
Cons: Small room. Hotel looks outdated, especially in breakfast room and lobby. Room had been refurbished, but just not right (old fashioned). Bedding was with synthetic blanket, yuk! Breakfast table with plastic cover, doesn’t feel nice (sticky).
Hotel Cycle - Onomichi - Building

8.7 Excellent (710 reviews)
C$ 262+
Overview Reviews

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Cycle was the best accommodation of my trip. The entire hotel was beautiful and the rooms themselves made me never want to leave. Everything was incredibly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the room was well taken care of. The bathroom alone was a game changer, especially the bath tub—perfect for relaxing after a long day. They also provided every amenity you could possibly need, as well as included a welcome drink at the bar as part of your check in package. If you stay, make sure you pay the little extra to have breakfast included with your stay. It is very worth it and very delicious.
Cons: The restaurant was expensive for dinner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent for cyclist! Vety good dinner and breakfast.
Cons: Sorry, could not stay longer
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great - just a few hundred meters from the short ferry to the start of the Shimanami Kaido, and about a ten minute walk to the train station. A bike rack in the room was a nice touch!
Cons: It certainly isn't the cheapest place to stay in Onomichi, but you get what you pay for!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful high quality food in the restaurant both at breakfast & dinner. Very friendly, courteous & professional staff. Use of Local ingredients. Very stylish, unusual decor. I like the whole concept of boutique, bicycle store, bakery & hotel all combined. Enjoyed the comfortable beds. We lived that the hotel was situated on a wharf so that we could watch boats pull up & see many more cruise past as we sat on the deck outside.
Cons: I would like better access to natural light in the rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A modern/industrial design that caters to the needs of cyclists doing the Shimanami Kaido bike course. Rooms are new, clean, well designed, and comfortable. The staff were great, always helpful and kind. The location is perfect - easy walk to the train station, along the harbor front, and very near to the ferry to begin the ride. The building has parking for bikes inside, lounge areas, cafe and restaurant, and even a bike shop under the same roof. Not a traditional Japanese hotel, not a traditional Western hotel, but a very positive and unique experience that I would recommend. You do not have to be a cyclist to enjoy the hotel, but if you are a cyclist you shouldn't miss this place!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and patient with the fact we don’t speak Japanese, so they went out of their way to help us with translation apps. Very clean and nice baths, too!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: PROS- The friendly and helpful staff where accommodating when greeting my friends and I with the limited Japanese we can speak/ understand, although I have heard from others that translation apps are good here, the staff went out of their way to explain the onsen and bathing facilities to us which was nice as we where 外人 (foreigners) who where trying to understand the somewhat awkward yet very enjoyable process of bathing with strangers! The property is close to bus stops which use IC cards for easy day trips and over all the room service and Japanese experience is something all foreigners should try! スタッフへ、滞在がありがとうございました!
Cons: CONS- While understandable for the sake of the onsen, the property is far from the station (20-30m via bus) and has a lack of things to do In the local area, however i still highly recommend this property if you are seeking the Japanese experience!
6.7 Good
Pros: Great Onsen, great price, friendly staff.
Cons: Out of room cleanliness, smoking area designed to spread smoke everywhere, transport links.

6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great. Common areas were nice. Staff were great.
Cons: Our room smelled like it was recently sprayed for bugs. Our view was over the air conditioners. Very ugly view- see our photo. Very expensive and pretentious. Far from anything to do. We were very disappointed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The service was fantastic, the design, furniture here really demonstrated great taste.
Cons: The Japanese breakfast was mediocre, not really worth the price. Especially very limited choice and amount of fruits.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is super and extraordinary. Staff is super friendly.
Cons: Prices for meals and drinks are far away from value for money. 5.ooo Yen for 2 0,1 glasses of cheap white wine and one glass of lemonade are not matching your overall approach. That should have been served for free!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room super comfortable. Onsen very clean and quiet. Food superlative. Attentive service. Wonderful views and lovely gardens.
Cons: Swimming pool closed down after September. Should be extended to end of October with help of mechanical heating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Totally high end wonderful beautiful experience that we expected. The staff were above and beyond helpful and kind. Akiye helped with 2 medical matters, in particular taking my daughter to hospital after a cycling accident and Kee served us every night in the restaurant and she was kind thoughtful and really took the best possible care of us especially since we had children with some fussy food needs. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Location is remote

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Japanese style room, with a great view.
Cons: I wasn't clear about whether my dinner was/wasn't included, same with breakfast. Plus the use of the hot springs that they had there too.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice garden area. Large comfortable room and public bath/spa. Management staff were welcoming and spoke enough English to be helpful. The location is great especially if you are doing the Shimanami Kaido cycling route. Lots to do in the town of Setoda with museums, temples, shops and restaurants nearby.
Cons: No complaints at all.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Located conveniently in the Setoda area. Onsen was great after a long day of biking. Rooms were nice tatami japanese style. Small lemon cake snack in the room upon arrival, as well as some yukata. Traditional ryokan feeling.
Cons: Facilities are slightly dated but still very clean. Depending on the season you arrive, the area turns into a ghost town after sundown.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Atmospehre was so silent and relaxing. Good place to stay during cycling holiday.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Large, clean rooms with comfortable futons. Old building with a charm of historic grandeur. Great communal bath and garden. Helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: The town of Setoda is rather sleepy, but still perfect for one night.
6.0 Good
Pros: Loved the service and the room. Very traditional with all the comforts. Great seaside view. The Onsen was a welcome relief to tired muscles.
Cons: It is being renovated and had to go around tradesman, no carpet on the floor. Whilst being the only guest the restaurant was closed and advised to find somewhere up the street...which were all closed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good and they accommodated special request. The owner was a sweet lady that made us feel welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spacious room in traditional Japanese style. Garden was even more beautiful.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice hostel with good people running it, i would come again
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Simple accommodation - friendly welcome and nice common area.
6.0 Good
Pros: Quirky and interesting old guesthouse! A great location and worth staying a night for the experience!
Cons: Only one shower and toilet on ground level for all guests and one wash basin outside. In poor repair, with cluttered balconies that could have been better utilised for guests.
6.0 Good
Pros: It was a cute room with decent space and a nice view across the harbour.
Cons: Didn't realise that the sink would be outside which in winter wasn't very convenient. The one toilet and shower are also shared which however wasn't a problem for us as we only stayed for one night and it wasn't busy. The host wasn't there for checkout which seemed strange, but again not a problem. Overall, value for money seemed a bit off as we paid the same amount a night earlier for a hotel in Onomichi and got lots more for our money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hostel is located in a charming building right next to the water and the shopping street. Room was spacious and the owners were friendly and helpful, giving advice on local attractions and restaurants. 10/10
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really cool hostel with comfy dorm pod/cabins. There's an onsen very close by so makes for a great relaxing half-way stop on the shimanami kaido. Staff really friendly. Lawson across the road.
Cons: Not being able to shower between 9-11pm was a bit strange (this is ladies only shower period). Dorm area was a bit warm for my liking.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I fell in love with Onomichi and it is mostly because of this accommodation. Hiro (the owner) made me feel like home in a place where I initially went to as a tourist.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice hostel with comfortable beds and good people running it, i would come again
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are really nice, helpful and friendly. The place is really clean, location is great, the hosts provide a discount ticket for the onsen nearby. As we stayed for a few days, they took care of our laundry for free :) The room downstairs is really nice and has more space than upstairs, and beds there are comfortable. We definitively recommand this place if you want to stay for a few days.
Cons: A bit exepensive for a dormitory. Can be a bit narrow (depending on the room) for your luggages.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really good information on the surroundings, bike rentals, ferry services, restaurants ... They called to make sure I get my suitcase delivered. Super friendly and great service! :))
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very personal experience, our host was super nice and gave us good tips about the area. The room was clean and well organized. Communication before and during our stay wqs excellent!
Cons: If I wanted to nitpick: the place is very small. Otherwise perfect!
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful; the owner went out of her way to help me with a phone call that I needed resolved. Thanks a mil!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was cozy and clean. Host contacted me before checking in and recommend me all kind of places I was interested about. Perfect for backpackers travelling solo!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second stay and the host recognised us straight away. The luggage that we left from our first stay from a few nights ago was exactly where we left it, safe and sound. The host was as welcoming as before and provided us with another discount for the onsen and towels to take with us (she did this for us last time as well but I forgot to mention in my review). We were given the same beds in the same room as before and everything was just as comfortable. I would not hesitate in booking this place again if I ever return to japan and Onomichi.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lived the fact that it was in a family home, which made it feel comfortable and friendly! Such a lovely stay, was shown the best places close to eat and hire bikes, as well as good ferries for the shimanami kaido biking trail.
Cons: Had to walk through the kitchen to the only shower

Pros: Everything ! This place is hidden gem of the Onomichi.. Once enter the place, it’s a different world.. Upon check in, you will be served Matcha green tea carefully made by staff with beautiful cup.. Dinner was amazing !!! not only the food, presentation so much attention to the details.. If you don’t speak Japanese you may face some difficulty but as long as you have some translations apps it will help..
Cons: None
4.6 Okay
Cons: The location very disappointing among industrial area
5.4 Okay
Pros: Very nice rooms with the exception of the dining room and the entry hall. Beautiful garden. Very friendly staff.
Cons: Food quality is below of what we experienced in other Ryokans. Price is far exacerated.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: On our arrival, whilst it was raining heavily, our hosts were standing in the street waiting to greet us with extra umbrellas. The service was immaculate. The room was spacious and the surroundings beautiful. The futons and eiderdowns were the best ones by far in our two week tour of Japan. The traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were delicious and plentiful.
Cons: We were initially given a room that did not correspond to the booking.com description. Although they didn't speak English, when we explained our concerns they did their best and moved us to the room that we expected.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We liked the experience and authenticity of the place which gave us a chance of experiencing more traditional Japanese food and habitation. The service was very good and in the end the stay resulted not only in living in old time Japanese luxury but also in a good rest and relaxation. Onomichi is close and has temples, hills and a good amount of local shops offering a relevant small town contrast to Osaka and Tokyo.
Cons: The bills could be more English friendly. It is all Japanese script and hard to understand. It matched what we expected from the booking site and they took creditcard so no problem. WiFi only worked in the reception, today it is important for many to stay connected anywhere.
5.4 Okay
Pros: This is an old Style Japanese hotel. Reminds me of top end hotels 20 years ago. Clean and quiet. Beautiful gardens, excellent bath.
Cons: Although well maintained, the hotel has not updated their amenities and services from long ago. For example, no WIFI in room, limited TV channels, If you have children or do not have a basic understanding of Japanese, don't go. Front desk personnel was marginal to say the least. Dining service was excellent. Food was good.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great views, peaceful location
Cons: Shared onsen type bath
7.9 Good
Pros: I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Although the hotel is aging, maintenance was pretty good, and everything worked and was in good condition. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Food at dinner and breakfast was very nice and plentiful (although breakfast was purely Japanese style). The view from the public bath was wonderful.
Cons: It is at the top of a very steep hill. I was cycling, and although I had no trouble getting up to the hotel, many cyclists with luggage, bad gearing, or if they are out of shape, will have to walk. I would have liked to be able to store my bicycle in the room, but that was not allowed.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great view, great nature
Cons: Far from port and kind of old hotel
7.9 Good
Pros: Great view from room. and beds were a nice change from futons.
Cons: Private bathroom only had a toilet so if you wanted to bathe you needed to use the onsen. Obviously onsens come with their own restrictions so keep in mind if you have tattoos or uncomfortable getting naked with strangers. The ability to request a shuttle was not made clear enough but they do offer them.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing views from the bedroom.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view and onsen.
Cons: The hill on a bike!
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location, marvellous view, spacious room.

Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the airport. There is a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. The hotel itself is very quiet at night, so make sure to bring necessary food/drinks before coming. The room is adequate enough for 1-2 person. Quite expensive but it worth the stay to catch morning flight.
Cons: Pillow and comforter had weird smell, almost as if it was once used in smoking environment.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Staff was really nice and helpful. Went above to be kind and helpful. That goes a long way
Cons: It could be a preference thing but bed was so uncomfortable I tossed and turned all night. Pillows were think and flat or very hard. Mattress was as hard as a plank of wood. Only comforter and it trapped in so much heat. Heat had been up to 25 and not cold enough outside to cool down the room. Staff did bring a fan to help me which was so nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: awesome location to airport. 5 minute walk down a path from the front door. Free parking. Hotel shuttle took us to the italian restaurant about 5 minutes away, then came to pick us up. we felt like rockstars. rooms were big and spacious, beds were comfortable, and a beer vending machine near the elevator.
Cons: nothing, perfect stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The people here are super helpful and welcome you with a warm towel to warm up your hands upon check in. They offered a free upgrade which was perfect!
Cons: The both times I stayed here, the fridge didnt work to help maintain breast milk being spoiled. On the other hand, they expedited a new fridge that worked within minutes of saying something to the front desk.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good view and location, large room space
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Near the airport. Great for early morning flights.
Cons: Rooms can be a little dim. But functional.

Pros: Very clean. Great location. Shuttle to the airport. Friendly kind staff. All around great experience.
Cons: Can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so helpful and assisted us in the movement of our bags to our rooms. We were unable to make payment at the time of check-in but no fuss was made.
Cons: The mini fridge in the room was very old. The decor is also quite tired but this didn’t detract from the purpose of the place: a quick stay before or after a flight.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was helpful and friendly. 1 bottle of water per guest was given out complimentary during check in. Although the airport is not linked directly to the hotel, it is within a 5 mins walk and there are clear signages. Breakfast is surprisingly good. View from the room to the garden is very scenic.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, polite and forthcoming staff. Good value for money!
7.1 Good
Pros: Well equipped with lots of amenities, friendly staff, and great location.
Cons: We stayed in a twin bunk bed room. The room was incredibly small, me and my boyfriend could barely get past each other. The beds were not very comfortable. The shower room was also very small, there wasn’t even space to lift the toilet seat fully up, so it kind of rested on your back when sitting on the toilet seat. I’d say it was ok for a very short stay but not ideal for more than 2 or 3 nights.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is good.
Cons: Very very old hotel, with dirty walls, thin walls and the price is too high for such facility. Would not recommend staying here.

6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great.

7.1 Good
