La Flora Resort Patong

The best thing is the location it's like 2 minutes walk to Bangla road plus an ATM, Family Mart and Starbucks are at the doorstep of the hotel Another great thing about the location is that it's on the beach side of the road and it has beach access which is truly convenient and it's the reason I picked this hotel The staff are the most friendly and most hospitable staff I've dealt with in all my travels and this says a lot about the hotel They had complimentary fruits in the room to welcome the guests which was a very nice touch, there were also 6 complimentary water bottles (which is really generous & 4 of them get replaced daily if used) Although the room was dated and the finishing wasn't the best, there were great things like the size of the room, it had beach/pool towels in the room, many pillows, comfy bed, large sofa, tea & coffee making stations, hair drier, disposable dental kit, comp, sewing kit, ear buds... And most importantly great shower water pressure with good temperature control Wifi connection was fast and stable They have a nice clean small gym that has all the essential equipment to get the workout done

First of all it says it's a 5 star hotel but it's clearly not, it's either an old 4 star or a very good 3 star hotel I'll start with the worst thing and that is the noise level, I heard drilling, welding, hammering, plates at breakfast, chatting in neighboring rooms, chatting in corridor, neighboring doors sound, horns, bikes engine sound, traffic police whistles & music. The sound was load it really felt like there were no walls. Luckily I had a good pair of earplugs to reduce that noise level (To their defense there were road constructions at the hotel entrance but that doesn't explain all the unrelated noise) Once in an evening somebody was knocking on my door, I ignored (because of how noisy the place is I thought it was the neighbor’s door) then they knocked again I thought it might be me so I got off my bed then they rang the bell and I said "I'm coming" well, they rang again I shouted as loud as I can "OK I'm coming" guess what they rang a third time and all of this happened in few seconds. When I opened it was 2 young gentlemen from the hotel they were offering a small bottle of fancy water which is a nice touch but the way they did it was horrible, I tried to reason with them but they didn't understand a word so I just gave up I was not going to mention the case above until something similar and worse happened, At around 10 in the morning in the day of my check out a lady knocks on my door and before I have a chance to open my mouth to say something she unlocks and opens the door, She saw I was in she just said sorry I thought you checked out already.
