Wonderful front desk people and in excellent location
For a hotel competing with other downtown locations, San Carlos needs to step up its game. It does not have individual room temperature controls, the bathrooms are absolutely tiny, the shower temperature can scold you at any moment, rooms are missing the customary refrigerator, there are no bell hops or luggage carts, the housekeepers are loud and use noisy walkie talkies that you can hear all over the hotel, and they simply need to hire more staff to attend to the guests.,
Very worn down; furniture, linens and bathroom.
The hotel is in a great location in downtown Phoenix - very walkable to nearby restaurants and the Convention Center. The staff was friendly and the rooms were very clean.
The property is a little dated, and the rooms and bathroom very small. There was no way to control the A/C in the room and the shower head did not work properly in my room. There was not a refrigerator in the room and the bed was uncomfortable - a little too hard fo me. It was also a little unsettling that the fire alarm went off during the day. We all vacated the property. I’m happy there was no fire, but the staff did not know the reason for the alarm sounding.
Nice old hotel, steeped in history
shame no breakfast or restaurant option - although there are options nearby....
