MediocreNov. 20163.1
This is not a 4 star hotel - it is 3 star
The buffet food was nice, but nothing special.
The hotel is very very tired and the general maintenance is very poor. Peeling swimming pool, smelly rooms, leaky roofs. Staff in the restaurant are generally grumpy. There is no visible management in charge - and this is the problem. The hotel is understaffed. There is no table service either in the bar. This is NOT a luxury hotel, please don't waste your money on this hotel when its so obviously 3 star,

The location of the hotel was excellent - very near to promenade, shops, bars, restaurants & also beach. Staff were all without exception very friendly & helpful. Refurbished room very nice. Good selection of food in restaurant.
Noisy during the day due to refurbishment being carried out - could not sit out on balcony without hearing drills, etc. although accept that this work has to be done some time. Although refurbished room was lovely there was no other storage space apart from within the wardrobe (ie no drawers or shelves). Lift out of service two days including the day we left so had to carry cases downstairs. Had to pay for towels/mattresses every day. Carpets in the corridors were very stained & nearly all the public seating areas especially in the bar had stained fabric & could have done with new covers. Although we have stayed in H10 hotels before (in Tenerife), we felt that this hotel did not come up to the H10 standard & was more like a good 3 star.

Excellent design of the central areas and comfortable bedroom. Food choice was wide and usually interesting. Liked the champagne at breakfast!
No heated pool

The hotel is in a very good location in Playa Blanca a short walk to the beaches, shops, restaurants etc. It is very safe for taking children, the pools are great, they have a 2 fantastic play areas one enclosed for really small children the other for older children, the evening entertainment for them is great too, the adults is ok. The food is average but their is a wide choice, but you are so close to other eateries it's not really a problem. Majority of the staff very friendly & helpful if you have a problem.
Very noisy at night, the rooms need updating as the hotel is very old now, if your lucky enough to get a pool view room these are great if not you might be overlooking the septic tank, staff will usually try to move you if possible though.
