Love this place: Our eighth stay in ten years!
Really can’t see how anything could be improved. Sometimes music from concerts at nearby Mamita’s is horrendous but that is not Mahekal’s fault.
Amazing service and staff, clean and beautiful property, great location on the beach and near all the city center has to offer.
In room refrigerators would be nice to have.
The service and atmosphere were impeccable
Super friendly staff
I was a pleasant surprise, it was a last minute booking, so we didn't new much about this place, but it is very nice, good food, excellent service, beach front and a street away from the 5 ave.
Great location, unique layout, good restaurant
Dirty floor, stains on duvet, leaking shower
Cannot recommend
The location is great and it LOOKS like a tropical paradise. If you are in your 20's or only visiting for 1 or 2 days this is a great spot.
The sound from Mamelita's is consistent and all-present from about noon until 7 or 8pm each night. When I say sound, I mean a massive bass that permeates all structures and covers the beach from South to North. There was unfortunately 2 weddings during our stay and I felt terrible for those brides having beach ceremonies with bumping bass. The houses with straw roofs have a consistent "wood rot" smell and there are termites in the exterior porches.
Quiet & Secluded Beach Resort In The Heart Of Play
Clean rooms, with good facilities. No TV or coffee machine, etc. beach, resturant and spa options were very good. Staff was excellent....and I mean across the board. Just amazing.
Rooms, facilities, location, staff and secluded beach. I enjoyed it so much, already booked another trip in early 2017. The central location to Playa Del Carmen was especially appreciated.
Great boutique hotel, great location, great servic
Stayed two nights with my boyfriend and we loved this place. We tend to avoid the mega resort hotels so this was perfect. Took advantage of the half board, the food was good, not anything that stood out but appreciated. The drinks were about $5 USD which is ok, wish happy hour were longer. Tell them to make the margaritas strong :) The location was great! Loved being right on the beach and also able to walk quinta avenida in the evenings. All the staff was incredibly friendly, always trying to help. We did not have issues with noise at all. In fact I thought the music could have been a bit louder at the pool. I brought my own speaker to the beach for music but tried not to play it too loudly.
Wait staff, location, breakfasts, porches, relaxation, most definitely recommended!
Low pressure showers, noisy neighborhood bar every night with the boom, boom
Mahekal Beach Resort is a fun and exciting hotel located right in Mexico's most famous resort town, Playa del Carmen. The area around the property is just as much a draw for visitors as the resort itself.
Playa del Carmen is a town that is always alive with music, events, and natural beauty to enjoy. Those looking to learn and explore can take a short trip away from Mahekal to see the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and Tulum, Coba. In the other direction, guests will find world-class coral reefs for exploring while snorkeling or scuba diving.
Mahekal has many rooms that can be arranged in several different configurations depending on how many guests will be visiting. The rooms themselves have primarily the same accommodations, the main differences are the views offered by each one. Guests who want views of the water will want an Oceanfront room, while those wanting to enjoy the lush gardens should book the Treehouse King, with the largest view of Mahekal expansive tropical gardens.
Hungry guests will have plenty of dining options to choose from. There are six full-sized restaurants available, as well as in-room dining for visitors who would rather enjoy their meals in the comfort of their suites. A few of the on-site restaurants include Cocina Restaurant, which offers visitors a buffet of regional Mexican, Yucatan, and Latin American dishes. There is also Las Olas, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with nightly specials and international fare.
