They mixed up with the room. It should have been two queens and we’ve got 1 king. Also the food was average. Much better food in the restaurants next door.

This place is awful! If you are ok to pay 400$ and sleep in the bed full of insects then go there. Staff is very rude and have no idea about hospitality business!

Pros (+) Love this place: Our eighth stay in ten years!
Cons (-) Really can’t see how anything could be improved. Sometimes music from concerts at nearby Mamita’s is horrendous but that is not Mahekal’s fault.

Pros (+) I was a pleasant surprise, it was a last minute booking, so we didn't new much about this place, but it is very nice, good food, excellent service, beach front and a street away from the 5 ave.

Pros (+) The location is great and it LOOKS like a tropical paradise. If you are in your 20's or only visiting for 1 or 2 days this is a great spot.
Cons (-) The sound from Mamelita's is consistent and all-present from about noon until 7 or 8pm each night. When I say sound, I mean a massive bass that permeates all structures and covers the beach from South to North. There was unfortunately 2 weddings during our stay and I felt terrible for those brides having beach ceremonies with bumping bass. The houses with straw roofs have a consistent "wood rot" s...
