The bathroom was lovely. It was a beautiful setting.
The wallpaper was not so nice
There was plenty of safe parking tucked away behind the hotel-so did not have to worry about the car. This hotel is right on the moors-so you can leave the hotel and start walking-if that is what you wish to do.
Not enough space here to tell how great the stay was! Nothing could have been any better. Super professional staff, super friendly but efficient at the same time. You can see immediately that every single person working there not just likes their job, but really loves it- and that makes a massive difference. The facilities were spotlessly clean, comfy soft bed, fantastic view out of a big window with a perfect size desk, which allowed me to work on comfortably. My dog was absolutely welcome, even found a biscuit in the room. But not just that made it great, these people love animals by heart without being weirdly over caring, cuddling your pet whenever you dare to leave the room or carry a water bowl behind you wherever you go. My dog and I felt absolutely welcome, we had the National Park right in front of the hotel, so had great walks as well. My dog stayed for free, not a single pound extra charge. The food was outstandingly good, both dinner and breakfast. As vegetarian I did not expect anything but a boring salad or chips in a steakhouse- but I found a whole page full of vegetarian dishes which made it even very hard to decide what to go for! The breakfast had more than you could want, next to traditional food also freshly baked warm croissants, bread rolls, the best fruit salad I ever had (including passion fruit and peeled orange pieces ....hmmm)- really nothing you could miss as person who is not so much into traditional breakfast.
Nothing to say here. Even if you are not into animals at all, you can get a "pet- free- room", so a room where never has stayed a pet before. There is really no wish that is not taken care of in a glimpse in this hotel.
I had the pixie room, which was perfect for what I needed it for, an over night stay... I didn’t have breakfast just tea, but I did enjoy the food the evening before excellent food and the staff are really friendly and helpful.
It’s a lovely hotel, could do with a lick of paint but clean and respectable all the same
Only minor issue was the walls seemed very thin as I could hear everything my neighbours did. They never complained about my snoring though !!
