Pros: Amazing little gem of a place right on the ocean in beautiful Port Renfrew! I'd been eyeing up these cottages since my last visit to Port Renfrew and finally got my chance to stay here! I was not disappointed. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful (exercising incredible patience in the face of one visitor swearing and yelling at them over his unrealistic expectations of how the place should be run). A beautiful, peaceful place to sit and take in the view, watch some wildlife, and soak up the friendly hospitality from the locals. Would absolutely stay here again!
Pros: The location was amazing! The cabins are located at the far end of the pier and with plenty of privacy and peace, with amazing views on the water. Staff was very welcoming (thanks for the warm welcome, Jesse!) and we even received a handwritten note (in Dutch!) congratulating us on our recent wedding. Room was very cosy. We were provided with excellent tips on what to do and see in the area during our stay. Tip: some roads are not suited for small cars; check prior to exploring.
Cons: Beware: lack of restaurants and supermarkets in the area; luckily we called in advance to check and stocked up on groceries while passing Nanaimo. Our room had a microwave but no hotplate/stove so we were quite limited in our meals and had to get creative. It was a fun experience, nonetheless! Nearby pub serves good meals, though typical pub fare. Perhaps the smaller 2-person rooms could also offer hotplates in the future?
Pros: View and location were nice. Relatively quiet.
Cons: The internet connection was poor and kept dropping. Forget about streaming YouTube videos. The bathtub plug leaked and the water slowly drained out. Ran out of hot water on one occasion.
Pros: We spent three nights in the cottages at Wild Renfrew—great location, friendly staff, pub and Coastal Kitchen had excellent food. Hiked Avatar Grove, Mystic Beach, Botany Bay, and Botanical Beach. All were close by. Cottage was charming, clean and we loved the patio fire pit. Would recommend the area and Wild Renfrew Resort without hesitation. Not cheap, but worth it!!
Cons: Oops, the bathtub drain did not flow well. If you took a shower, you ended up standing in water up to your calves. They promise to fix this. Otherwise, a perfect experience.
Pros: Best location, view, interior, food, service, people I've come across at a hotel. Simply astonishing!
Pros: Awesome views, great location, friendly people, good food at hotel. Great out door fire! No where better
Pros: Beautiful location. Excellent food. Great staff.
Pros: The cottage was beautifully appointed and equipped making it feel immediately like home. The views from the terrace out across the water were spectacular and we spent hours just watching the eagles fishing and seals bobbing around just below us. Surrounded by beautiful rain forest and wild beaches, the location is a nature lovers paradise. The staff, and in particular Vanessa, were enthusiastic and knowledgable giving us plenty of info and suggestions upon arrival. Can’t wait to come back!
Pros: Room was clean and nicely setup. Patio was lovely...outside fire pit was awesome!!
Cons: Room was on the water but also right on the dock...not very private when sitting on patio.
Pros: Great location. Well trained and helpfull staff

Pros: The quiet ambiance of the area. Wonderful views.
Cons: Wasn't able to stay longer!
Pros: Location was superior, located with direct access to beach and an excellent view to boot. Breakfast was great, times of servings were individualized, great, since some viewing depended on the height of the tide. Helpful advice on which eating places were open at night
Cons: I liked what I got, so have no complaints
Pros: A very comfortable and welcoming place. Bonnie was there to great us quickly and we were the envy of people on the West Coast Trail orientation with our fantastic boxed lunches that she made for us. We wish we had arrived earlier to enjoy her beautiful property and the beach out front.
Pros: The facilities was located on beach, sounds of surf and gulls was wonderful for sleeping. Relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: Way off beaten path, difficult to find, very small community, very small.
Pros: Great place with amazing view and yum breakfast! Just perfect!!
Pros: Breakfast healthy, staff very supportive
Pros: The lobby is very spacious. The deco is very pleasing. The beach makes it the paradise.
Pros: The location is stunning and the owner was super friendly
Pros: Breakfast was amazing, and made for me at a time that worked for me specifically. The perfect way to start my west coast trail adventure.
Cons: It was fairly expensive, but granted I booked last minute in the busy season. Overall totally worth it to start the week warm and dry.
Pros: Big Fish Lodge is a great place home base for a Port Renfrew stay. Comfortable rooms, welcoming public room, beautiful on the beach in the harbor setting. Yummy breakfast. We enjoyed meeting other guests on their way to fishing expeditions, or hikes on the wild coast trail.

The area is popular for fishing and canoeing. The nearest airport is Victoria International Airport, 74 km from Trailhead Resort.
Pros: It was a lovely little "cabin" just what we needed before starting a long hike. There were enough bathrooms that we did not need to wait and the the cabin was quite so we could get a good night's sleep.
Pros: Very clean and spacious room, close to the pier.
Pros: Very nice staff and quite hotel with a kitchen.
Pros: People were very friendly around the firepit. The hot tub was lovely and warm.
Pros: The accommodation of the hiker hut exceeded our expectation. What an amazing little hidden gem
Pros: Just an overnight spot for heading to the Westcoast trail.
Cons: It's just a small A frame that sleeps maybe 3 people. No towels etc , shared bathrooms, lots of rules, 2 old plastic chairs, no extras.
Pros: We stayed in a hiker hut. It is convenient in terms of proximity to restaurants. The bathrooms have shower stalls and are reasonably well maintained.
Cons: There's nothing special about the location especially given that the campsites in the area are right on the beach or on the lake. The hiker hut guests do not have access to other amenities that the resort guests have which is understandable for the price. There isn't even a fire pit for these huts. The beds and pillows are saggy and uncomfortable.
Pros: To explore the area and/or prepare for you hike, this is the best place money for value has to offer. We stayed in one of the hiker huts. It was super quiet, comfy and the shared rest rooms were super clean. Lokated perfectly right between the Renfrew Pub, the General Store and southern WCT trail head.
Pros: It was very clean in the hiker hut, the shower was more like at the provincial parks, but hot water felt good.
Cons: Feather pillow was comfy but made me not breath well, but this wen away by noon.
