Pros: The breakfast was amazing, Nick the chef made us the most delicious scones, muffins, eggs and other selections for breakfast, we had two breakfasts (two separate stays) and both were fantastic. The breakfast was included in our price and was at least worth $50 for the two of us, it was top notch. Thank you Nick and all of the restaurant staff.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved the flowers and plants all over the yard. Loved the privacy of the place and our hosts were accommodating, helpful and very friendly. Place conveniently located.
Cons: Pretty much no complaints except perhaps if one wants to stay a longer time, there was no place in room to hang ones clothes. Not an issue for us, but may be for others
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very generous provisions for breakfast. Beautiful furnishings, anticipating every need. Genial, knowledgeable host, willing to go way beyond the expected. Restful, flowered garden. Great "neighborhood" which gave a real feel for Victoria. Grocery and nice restaurants nearby. Couldn't have been better.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Our cottage was totally charming, and fully equipped for our needs. Ned was handy to answer questions and chat, but not at all intrusive.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like. Another parking space would be nice, but we found street parking only a few steps away.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I liked the location and the well -stocked kitchen.
Good 6.3
Pros: Lots of room and very comfortable layput
Cons: We expected a B&B which to us meant breakfast maybe afternoon wine, etc. we had to make our own breakfast with items supplied. Never saw other guest s More like being in a condo not a B&B
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The gas fireplace
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The kitchen was well stocked and there was extra linen, blankets and towels. Ned was friendly and very approachable.
Cons: There was nothing to fault
Excellent 9.6
Pros: It had everything required for a comfortable stay including a good breakfast selection. Great location for exploring the city and Ned was full of tips, advice and directions to aid that.
Cons: For a 2 night stay, there was nothing that could have been improved.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: What a wonderful, warm and welcoming place to stay with a perfect location to walk to everything in Victoria. The hosts made us feel so at home and sitting outside in the evening by the fire was lovely. I would definitely stay here again on my annual visits to Victoria.
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely and spacious apartment with all the comforts of home! Wish that we could have stayed longer.
Cons: That we were not able to stay longer:(

Good 6.5
Pros: The breakfast was a good experience. Small quantity but good. The iced mango tea was very good.
Cons: We did not like the old smell or the bugs in the bathroom. It was Very over priced.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved the charm & character of the house & gardens & attention to the nicest details in the room.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The staff were amazing and our room was great with very comfortable beds
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast is always fun, tasty and filling at the Pendray. Staff very friendly and helpful. This was our third visit and we have enjoyed each of our stays. Close to the harbor easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and fun activities.
Cons: Little hard for an older person to get in and out of the claw foot bath tub/shower No AC so room was rather warm but the weather was great.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Super location, right on the harbor, a few short blocks to the BC parliament building, the Royal BC Museum, the Empress hotel, Fisherman's Wharf. Lovely gardens in front of the Inn. Just across the street from the ferry to Port Angeles. The tea and breakfast was excellent in a beautiful setting. We had windows on two sides of the house so could get air circulating in the evening.
Cons: The breakfast had two set menus, which alternated by day, so became somewhat repetitive--delicious, but would have been too much the same after four days. (If the weather had been hot, the room could have been quite uncomfortable.)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It far exceeded our expectations. The staff was welcoming and helpful. We even got a handwritten note welcoming us from Michael, the manager. When we expressed interest in knowing more about the history of the family and property, Michael provided us with a well written document he created. The food was yummy, the accommodations comfortable and the ambiance relaxing.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Elegant. Historic. Peaceful. Comfortable. Location, gardens, view - spectacular!
Good 7.1
Pros: The achitecture of the building did not disappoint - it is beautiful, albeit a bit rundown. The Pendray Room was lovely, romantic, bright and a good size, with a comfortable bed and large bay windows, overlooking the street and harbour. We were able to sit out on the balcony attached to the room and listen to the Blues Bash Music Festival from there. The Pendray Inn is in a good, walkable location, staff were friendly and the breakfast/tea was delicious.
Cons: As mentioned, we loved the building but were sad to see it was run down in appearance; most exterior surfaces were in need of cleaning/paint resurfacing and our room had a large stain on the carpet. Although the linens/towels in the bedroom, bathroom and teahouse appeared crisp and clean, there was dust on most exterior surfaces, spider/cob webs in several of the main level interior room corners/fixtures, the what-could-be-gorgeous hardwood floors were dull/unpolished and there was spider web debris and dead flies sitting on the window ledge at our table in the breakfast room. We understand it's an old building but that wasn't what we anticipated, considering we spent $400/night for the experience. The staff were lovely and friendly but it seems they could use a full-time maintenance person on site. One other aspect we hadn't considered; if you are considering booking The Pendray Room, expect line ups of passerbys to take photos of the house (along with you) when you are on the balcony and in your room. It is such a lovely property and although we enjoyed the "Victorian romance" aspect of our stay, we would think twice about paying that much there, in future.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: When you stay in a hotel with an English tea service in the restaurant expect a tasty English style breakfast. Great location across the street from the Victoria Clipper terminal. Close and very walkable to all the sights in downtown; excellent location.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I would say good but not exceptional
Cons: The lack of a proper shower in the bathroom was the only real major issue.

Excellent 9.6
Pros: Beautiful heritage house with original features. We had a lovely stay here. Warm welcome and home cooking it’s only a few blocks from the harbour but it feels peaceful and quiet compared to downtown
Excellent 9.6
Pros: A good location, only about 15 mins on foot to the govt building. Very helpful to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Snacks and cookies available if you wanted them. Nice breakfasts too.
Good 7.1
Pros: This was a nice bed and breakfast with 4 upstairs rooms. Our room had its own bathroom and a nice little outside patio where we could have our suppers. The room was quiet. Breakfast was very nice. Located close to fisherman's wharf and walking distance from downtown attractions. Very close to ferry.
Cons: Some garbage and soap left in the bathroom from the previous guest.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The comfiest bed we've ever slept in... spotlessly clean and friendly welcoming host. If we visit Victoria again Fisher House will definitely be our first choice
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was very well presented, clean and clearly lots of attention to detail.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Comfy bed, nice place.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location. Lovely house and staff and room. Fabulous breakfast
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: We liked the way the owner treated us. She gave us good information where we could get a nice meal. We liked having breakfast with the other guests at the same table. We like talking to people from different countries
Cons: The bathroom is not an en-suite and there is only one bathrope. A tip for the owner: we liked the breakfast but there is no choise possible. We can imagine that there are guest who don’t like it. A choise or a question what guests dislike would be nice
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The owner is very friendly and helped me make plans before I arrived, such as recommend which ferry to take, stop at the Butchart Gardens first and choose their high tea over other area locations. She helped with where to tour and where to eat. Location was walkable to the downtown venues.
Cons: Our room was on the small side and the bathroom (although private) was across the hall from the bedroom. A robe was provided. It was all nice, just a bit less convenient if that is important to you.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Beautiful and charming home. Perfect location. Only a 10 minute walk from the waterfront.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect -- walking distance to both Beacon Hill Park (which your staff recommended, and we loved) and the waterfront and everything we wanted to see in the city. We enjoyed the spacious, clean accommodations. I really liked the oscillating fans, which were quiet and efficient. We appreciated the opportunity to enjoy the delicious chocolate toffee for free because we declined to have our linens replaced (which we would have done anyway, to support the environment). My daughter loved the private movie theater.
Cons: Not the most comfortable bed - the mattress was a bit too hard, and the pillows way too over-stuffed.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Our room should have included a washer and dryer but it was out for service. The hotel did our laundry for free with a quick turn around. This hotel is in a fantastic location, we highly recommend it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was so nice
Cons: Could've been more hot tub jets
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very comfortable and spacious suites.
Excellent 9.1
Pros: Luxurious rooms, lots of space, great service and staff
Cons: Did not provide enough toiletries, no air conditioning, could not close top windows
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved this hotel- it felt so luxurious with out the price tag. We had deluxe suite and we will definitely return.. It was close to the harbour and we could walk everywhere. The soaker tub was very relaxing, nice little touches like washer dryer and ipad doc made it even better We enjoyed it all very immensely
Cons: fireplace didn't work in either room and the hot tub jets were not very strong
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great rooms with everything you need
Good 7.4
Cons: We stood in line for 15 minutes (I counted) while ONE staff member dealt with ONE check-in ahead of us. (And there were people behind us...). Sure, she apologized when it was my turn, but who cares? Why didn't she call another staff member to check in others and speed things up? Why wasn't I offered an upgrade, or free drink at the restaurant, or one day free parking, or something as compensation? And we were staying 3 nights. Nope. A perfunctory apology was all I got. And don't tell me that a manager somewhere wasn't monitoring the various security cameras which observe that check in desk, so they knew - but apparently didn't care. Shameful. Very, very disappointing for a supposed luxury hotel.
Excellent 9.1
Pros: Nice roomy suite
Cons: Unfortunately no hotel room in Victoria is truly affordable anymore.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room, facility and service were all exceptional. Very impressed!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: They did our laundry free of charge when our dryer wouldn't work. Very nice and folded it to ;)

Pros: I loved the check in process...very quick and easy. The Postern Room was large and beautifully decorated. It totally exceeded my expectations. Best of all, the bed was so comfy!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: This is a beautiful property, nicely decorated, with many comfortable touches, and a beautiful garden.
Cons: The only thing I would change is the sheets, which were strangely rough to the touch.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Very cute, clean and cozy. Very quiet and peaceful including the gated yard and waterfall. On a dead end street, so quiet traffic wise also.
Cons: Further from harbour and downtown than I was told it was. Very noisy seagulls at every 0500 am nesting on neighbours roof.
Excellent 9.2
Cons: Lovely little suite. Very comfy, self contained, modern, homey, fully equipped. Loved it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Auberge Victoria is a small boutique inn, just 4 units. All with outdoor space, patios or balconies. Very well appointed, well equipped kitchen, bed was excellent, lots of fluffy towels. The location is within easy walking distance of Victoria attractions and many good restaurants. There is parking in the courtyard for a limited number of cars. Easy street parking in a quiet neighborhood.

Pros: Friendly host, parking nearby, proximity to city
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location. Right next to Beacon Hill Park and a short walk to the Parliament buildings and the inner harbour and downtown shops and restaurants. Johnny was on site to help us with any needs. Lovely breakfast included to eat on your private courtyard. Self-checkin and available underground parking. Was so happy to be able to take my small dog at no extra charge. Will definitely stay again! Such great value.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: We had a great stay at the Robert Porter Inn over my wedding weekend. I booked the Maclure suite for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in, and it did not disappoint! The suite was even bigger than I imagined with a beautiful open hallway and lots of light. We loved the big kitchen and spacious rooms. The location was perfect, since our wedding events were downtown - we could easily walk or take a quick ride anywhere we needed to go! The staff were friendly, very helpful and quick to communicate with.
Cons: The smaller twin beds could have been a bit comfier - my sister slept on one and said she could feel the springs.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Set up of the room is very homely, nice touches, spacious, very easy in and out, good communication with owner and on site manager, excellent location for central Victoria
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We really liked the location, the Monet theme for the room, the breakfast, and the hello visit from Johnnie. Welcome note on the door to let us know we were in the right place.
Cons: It would be nice to have Kleenex instead of using toilet paper. How about deodorizer for the bathroom?
Good 6.0
Pros: room nice
Cons: we were overwhelmed with instructions on how to park/lockup - it was like a thesis!! Couldn't find where to park, NOon site staff to help
Good 6.7
Pros: Van Gogh and Monet suites require high level of physical mobility as up and down stairs wirh luggage was tricky
Cons: Van Gogh and Monet suites require high level of physical mobility as up and down stairs wirh luggage was tricky
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The building, room and staff were lovely. It is very central and close to everything we wanted to do.
Cons: We have stayed here before, with another owner. The breakfast was served upstairs in the original dining room. We got to chat with the other people, and really enjoyed that. Now, you go out your door into the shared hallway and get your breakfast, and then take it back to your room. We were a little disappointed with that.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Included parking

Pros: The location was excellent for walking and surprisingly quiet. The restaurant, patio and lounge were beautiful. So much to do within walking distance. Right on the west song walkway! Staff were great.
Cons: For the money, the room was mediocre. No microwave or minibar. Appreciated the green ideas for sheets and towels, but then they have plastic water bottles and disposable coffee cups.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The view of the harbor and surrounding ambiance.
Good 6.7
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: Terrible in room coffee No view first night requested we move and they moved us
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean and very nice! Friendly staff!
Cons: Our drain in bath was broken.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was easy to understand when explaining a number of complex issues. They left no question unanswered and were able to accomodate several requests I made to them.
Cons: The window on the 8th floor is very small. This makes it difficult to see much outside unless atanding right at the window.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very comfortable bed, walking distance to downtown . Very friendly, competent staff. Nice spa.
Cons: Nothing
Good 7.5
Pros: The staff were fabulous and very friendly. The view was spectacular. Nice and quiet and peaceful
Cons: Food at restaurant was nothing spectacular some meals ok others disasterous! Entrance to spa and pool locked and couldn’t get in first thing in the morning. Toilet was broken constantly. Price through booking. Com not the same as bill ..bill came in higher.. with no additional costs
Good 7.1
Pros: The location is great. Staff are friendly.
Cons: There is no security for access to room floors from the elevators! Management was unaware of continuous construction noise throughout the day in a room I accepted by default because the room I booked wasn’t ready at 3:30pm local time.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location. Very very nice staff. We really enjoyed our stay in Victoria. This hotel greatly contributed to our enjoyment. We highly recommend this hotel.
Good 7.0
Cons: The breakfast buffet was awful. The scrambled eggs were made out of powder and the potatoes looked like stones and were hard like stones. There was a little, little selection of cold meat and cheese. I could hardly find it and was stuck on the plates (I guess it was prepared the night before).

Excellent 8.0
Pros: There were no croissants Where are they?
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We brought up friends visiting from England. The hotel was wonderful and within walking distance to the harbor, downtown, etc.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Prefect in the center of activities. Older buildings, but beautifully updated.
Cons: Had to walk outside from office to room and to some other rooms.
Good 7.5
Pros: The room was spacious with a separate kitchen/eat in area. Having a full fridge and stove was definitely a plus. Room was for the most part clean, except for carpet area. Staff were very friendly and helpful and location of hotel was very good, within minutes of downtown area of Victoria.
Cons: The carpet in the room was very old and dirty...needs to be replaced!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Clean and comfortable
Cons: The noisy traffic
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Good location, nice, clean room
Okay 5.8
Pros: Cherish was terrific at our check-in! Bed was comfortable
Cons: Bathroom so small & dark!had to request toilet paper next days coffee pack and kleenex...air conditioner was not effective, had to have Windows open, noisy.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: great access to downtown, super friendly & helpful staff, comfortable bed.
Cons: Street noise, really tight parking, curb appeal - initial impressions of older property were mediocre, but staff more than made up for it and we enjoyed the stay in a spacious, comfortable, clean room.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Seems like we had got a double booking, and they were very good and said they would take care of it
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Loved the location. And the room was perfect, quiet and comfortable.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Full kitchen. Short walk to inner harbor.
Cons: Fire escape as second means of egress. No sprinklers.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Really kind and helpful staff. I liked having hot coffee available around the clock. Was nice to have a laundry room. Was great to have a stove, fridge and microwave in the room. This hotel is in a perfect spot to walk to Beacon Hill park, the parliament building and most of downtown Victoria.
Cons: With our heavy bags, it would have been nice to have an elevator, but we managed. The staff could have helped us if we requested it, no doubt. I would have given the room a perfect score, but there were four minor items that needed repair. I sent an email to the innkeeper, Ryan Hentges, to let him know what we noticed.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Place was clean & little/no noise from neighbours or hallway. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We asked to check in about an hour early so we could change for a wedding- they were able to make it happen. Location fantastic. Breakfast was great!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Great free breakfast
Cons: Lumpy pillows
Good 6.3
Pros: Breakfast N/A. The neighborhood was great. In the middle of everything
Cons: Front desk female staff, 2 of them, was either limited english or just plain not friendly.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Comfortable, cozying atmosphere and amazing location in Victoria. Espectacular experience
Excellent 9.2
Pros: We stayed one night there, every thing was perfect and we liked the location just a walk distance to waterfront and parliament building. I highly recommend it.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Full suite with short walk to grocery store, shops and BC political nut house.
Cons: Parking was tight for my pickup. Someone scratched my door.
Good 7.9
Pros: Size of the room and the hotel’s location.
Cons: Breakfast was really poor.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Close proximity to the best of Victoria - excellent breakfast
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.8
Pros: We stayed here a second time. The location is perfect and near everything. Not front row but that does not matter. Staff is friendly and helpfully. Free parking. Excellent WiFi. Excellent breakfast. Whenever in Victoria we stay at the embassy inn.
Cons: The hotel is a bit out of date but that is not important at all.
Good 6.7
Pros: The beds were comfortable great location with a farmers market right next door and walking distance from the ferry and just about everything. We walked all over Victoria with our 3 and 6 year olds
Cons: I didnt like the outside appearance. You see all these grand hotels and photos on booking but actually walking up to it it looks like a motel 8. Very disappointing when your paying 200 usd per night! Also there was a stove in our room that was visibly from the 70s
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The breakfast was nice with the exception of the scrambled eggs which were tasteless. A nice touch was the two waffle irons, batter, and choice of syrup or strawberries and real whipped cream to top these with. The soaker tub in the bathroom was a real bonus and very enjoyable to use.
Cons: Unfortunately there were no chaise lounge chairs on the pool deck. It would also be nice if the pool was opened to guests earlier than 9 am.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast was so good with a large variety of items to choose from. The location was excellent. We could walk to town and eat and shop without driving. That was so nice.
Cons: The parking for large vehicles was very limited.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The room was beautifully appointed - clean with a beautiful view. The staff was so attentive, helpful and friendly.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect location to access an amazing city! A very short 5min walk to the waterfront and shops. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to all our needs. We will definitely be back! The hot cookies on arrival was a great touch as well.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Great location and staff always helpful
Cons: Nil
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location. I am always pleased when I stay in a Double Tree Hotel. The night light feature in the bathroom is fantastic.
Cons: Every hotel has insufficient bathroom mirror lighting. Double Tree is better than most but not what I would consider good. I do appreciate the small lighted magnifying mirror.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Location is really good. Nice view.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: All services are good
Cons: Everything is good
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Exceptionally clean hotel with very comfortable beds. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location, one street away from the harbour. When we arrived, the receptionist informed us that cookies were available to us, free of charge, as and when we wanted them which was a nice touch.
Cons: A little pricey, especially given that breakfast was not included in our deal and we had to pay an additional $21 per day for car parking. We booked a standard queen room. We found the room very small, especially with 2 large suitcases. Worth bearing in mind if you want room to sit anywhere other than the bed. The bathroom was exceptionally small too.
Okay 5.8
Pros: Location
Cons: Room size No pool Very loud at night Long check in wait
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location. Great view.
Cons: Everything was excellent.
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Location to downtown and the harbor. Other guests had breakfast included. I did not!
Cons: Paid $--- for 2 nights single occupancy. I did not realize taxes would be $99 for 2 nights or that it was Canadian funds. I was checked into a 1st floor room overlooking a cement parking lot & had to ask to be moved higher. Fridge was warm. No breakfa
