Overview of Royal Air Maroc

Commencing scheduled flights in 1957, Royal Air Maroc is the official flag carrier of Morocco and is wholly owned by the government. It has RAM Express functioning as a subsidiary, which focuses on domestic services within Morocco as well as services to Spain and Portugal.

Departures are controlled out of its base in Casablanca, with flights extending throughout Africa, Europe, North America, Asia and South America. Flying to more than 45 countries across the globe, it is a major link between Africa and the rest of the world. It has a strong association with France, offering flights to 10 destinations across the country. Additional routes are made available via codeshare agreements with Etihad Airways, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Brussels Airlines and S7 Airlines, among others.

Royal Air Maroc has a fleet consisting of Boeing and Embraer aircraft. Boeing jets, such as the 787 series, are capable of traveling greater distances, while the Embraer airliners are ideal for short-haul flights with less than 100 passengers. The Boeing 737-800 is the most commonly flown model. Morocco’s five-pointed star features on the tail of the fleet, while several planes also feature special Wings of African Art decorations.
