The views from the rooms are beautiful. But not worth your while since the hosts are terrible. If your dream vacation is staying with your right-wing in-laws this is definitely your place.
We have travelled extensively and this is my first time writing a bad review. I have stayed in places that were definitely dirtier and sketchier, but I have never felt this uncomfortable while staying in a hotel, airbnb or a hostel. The hosts make you have breakfast with them. And while this may seem minor, it can really impact your stay. They put you in a position in which you either have to be very ackward and tell them you would like to have privacy with your partner (with whom you have planned a romantic trip) or just put up with their imposition and accept whatever political nonsense they want to discuss. I hadn't read the reviews and when I did I was sorry I had not checked what the negative reviews were about. That is to say that hosts are aware that guests feel uncomfortable (many reviews explicitly mention this and hosts have even replied to those reviews) but they continue to harass guests by sitting with them. Why not wait and see if guests want their company instead of imposing themselves? To say it's unprofessional is to downplay their behavior. And if conversation was interesting that would be one thing, but they are clearly right-wingers and want to talk about politics the whole time, they assume you hold their same views.... Toppled by very negative comments about Mexico and its people. In addition to this, rules are constantly thrown onto guests, which only adds to the ackwardness...you can definitely sense they are uptight about having guests around and want to control how you behave (for example, glass cups aren't allowed in rooms as if guests were children...but also, would it be that terrible if glasses broke from time to time?). Information about the location is missleading. You need to grab a cab for everything. Nothing is walking distance. So just be aware that you will be staying in a gated community and will be isolated from the town and beaches.
This really nice place is runned by Brooke and Rick; a really friendly Canadian couple; when we arrived we got a beer from Brooke and sit down by the beautiful view. It was really calm and everything looks so beautiful. The room looks romantic and nice, lot's of beautiful details, everything is taken care of. It's big, with good beds and good bathroom. You have an own terrace with hammock and great view again. The pool is nice fresh and you can jump in it every time you like; even at night...! At the central place where you can have breakfast there is also a little kitchen. You get free tapwater as much as you like (also to bring to your room) and the breakfast was nice with lots of coffee and fresh fruits. You can walk to the jungle to a really beautiful and bit rough beach, where no one is around! Brooke and Rick are always there to help you with anything or any questions and also love to chat with you :) We also really liked their dog, Tango, who is around and looks like he's smiling all the time :) :)
If you can afford it; it's a great place with nothing bad to say about it. It's not close to supermarkets, restaurants; but if you have a car or take a cab or order some food; there is no problem and you can totally relax here.
Owners are great hosts the place is quite remote so its quiet, the pool area is cozy
Tiny room, low ceiling, bad A/C. Very hot at all times it was inconfortable and way too pricey for what was given to us.
The hosts were super friendly! The villas are beautiful and the view is spectacular! The area is very clean and safe. The private beach is amazing. Beautiful place to come and disconnect and enjoy nature.
Lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting, with very welcoming hosts. Would definitely recommend going to Playa San Augustin for the day - the snorkelling is amazing!
Huatulco is very spread out and so you need to get taxis everywhere, not really an issue though as easy to do and very reasonably priced.
