They provided a free breakfast coupon! That was great!!
The upper bunks are a little bit difficult to climb :(
the capsule hotel is located in Susukino and is very close to the Susukino station. It is a short walk from the capsule hotel to Odori park as well as Susukino downtown area. The location is great, because you have access to many restaurants, shops, train station as well as the tram system. the airport limousine bus stop is also very close to the capsule hotel. All in all, it is in a great location. Every morning you can also get a discount ticket for breakfast at one of the four stores they have the campaign with. The discount ticket will save you 200 yen off of your breakfast total.
This capsule hotel is very small. Some of the shared spaces are narrow and have been filled to cram point with things. Place to store your luggage: There are two kinds of lockers to store your things in: a bigger squarish locker and a small, long gym locker. I got the small gym locker (not by choice) and it was difficult to put my things into the locker. Any luggage was stored in the basement, which also serves as a rest area where people can watch TV and eat. The staff will give you a lock to secure your luggage, but I was not very happy about leaving my stuff in a place where many people come and go. Bathroom: Each floor has a two toilets and four urinals. If you get to the capsule hotel early, the toilet area is clean, but once people start checking in, the toilets became a mess... only get cleaned once a day. There is no private shower, so you have to bathe with many other people. The bathroom locker area is tiny and was not comfortable to use considering you are naked and have to get dressed and at the same time not bump into another naked man also trying to change. There are only six showers in a communal Japanese style bathroom. So, if you get to the shower area, sometimes you would have to wait... They had a heated bath, and the water was nice, especially in the cold weather. Kind of people: There were a lot of foreigners who stayed at this capsule hotel. I think most of them have never stayed at this kind of hotel before because they made a huge noise and didn't understand that people were sleeping. There were people who came back at 2 or 3 in the morning and were talking and shouting in the capsule area. The Japanese customers were too polite to say anything and staff couldn't do anything about it either. Capsule: It is cleaned every day, which is great. BUT it still has a smell. And there is no fan or way to get air flow in the capsule. The floors heating was set way too high so it was a little unbearable sleeping in the capsule.
