The view was amazing.
The room was too old and dirty. The wall paper was coming off and the furniture was really old and damaged.

Outstanding buffet breakfast especially Japanese style selections; excellent indoor and outdoor onsen baths; lovely ocean view from tatami room--perfect for sunrise. Loved the ping pong room, though charge to rent was a bit high.

This was a great alternative to a more traditional Japanese ryokan, and perfect for a family - more of a standard hotel style facility, but with good sized Japanese-style tatami rooms and great onsens. There are several restaurants to choose from within the hotel (and, unlike some Japanese hotels / ryokans, you don't need to book in advance), and even karaoke rooms! The location opposite Shirahama Beach was great, and Shimoda is just a short drive away.
