10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, normally not one for big hotels however this was a beautifully designed hotel and pure class, can't fault it.
Cons: Nothing, couldn't fault it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Honestly everything. This place was incredible and I will definitely recommend this to anyone I know heading to Sri Lanka. The facilities were amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make your stay the best possible. The view of Sigiriya rock from the infinity pool was gorgeous and the food was delicious. There were also free badminton courts which was fun. I would recommend getting a tuk-tuk from just along the road from the hotel because tuktuk drivers take advantage if they know you are staying there. We tried to get a tuk-tuk which should have been 1700 and they tried charging us 2900.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Yoga class, beautiful garden area, nice to stroll, breakfast, room, swimming pool, Sri lankan dinner, room had privecy and was spotless clean and nice.
Cons: A staff in main restaurant didn't feel very friendly or attentive, but other staffs were.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself is contained within a gated area. Once you have progressed to the main reception, you approach the reception via a fairly long set of stairs (easy walking) to the most glorious view on the other side of the infinity pool where the view stretches beyond to the plains and then the hills in the distance. It is truly beautiful. The pool is really stunning and is open until 9pm at night so you can bathe under the stars which is what my husband and I did one night after returning from a safari. The food is catered generally by a buffet which was good quality and plenty of choice. Again the staff were exceptional. Our room was great - plenty of room and nice big bathroom. I'm not sure how quiet it would be if the hotel was full though. Sigiriya is a great location for safaris too.
Cons: The grounds are well maintained but there is rather a hum - we think this stemmed from watering the gardens with stagnant water. The wi-fi rather drops out of service quite frequently so one has to keep logging in. Didn't bother me but my husband found it a bit irritating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool, service, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff :)
Cons: We didn’t stay long enough to enjoy this beautiful hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic view from the main hotel area and pool, service was excellent, food options and quality likewise. Would recommend.
Cons: The twin bed in our room wasn't set up on arrival into the room, but they rectified this fully within ten minutes. Full credit to the staff

7.0 Good
Pros: Convenience to Sigiriya
Cons: Expensive compared with other hotels in our 6 day road trip Facilities could do with a facelift
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel staff in general was very nice, the food was nice and friendly too, even if very expensive. The place to see the Lion's rock is great.
Cons: When we arrived, the staff offered us a barbecue for 2500 RS for 2 people. The next day, we were very surprised to discover that the price was eventually about 4000 RS per person, which was way too high compared to what you can get in Sri Lanka outdoors restaurants. Better to eat outside for the same thing and more than half the price. What was also very surprising is that the next day, the barbecue dinner was empty, no one took the diner whereas the day before it was full (about 20 people). Considering this, we found that the hotel management wasn't honest towards the customers.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Rooms are spacious and clean, the location overlooking the rock of Sigiriya is amazing. The buffet breakfast is very good but a shame it is mainly continental as opposed to traditional Sri Lankan.
Cons: The staff at reception had a very inappropriate and disappointing behaviour when we arrived which is not aligned to what one could expect of such hotel standards. Obviously the current global context is quite particular and the uncertainty around what is happening with Covid19 makes it somewhat scary for certain people however that does not mean foreigners should be mistreated (upon arrival we were barely given a hello, asked to hand sanitize our hands straight away and told our temperature needed to be checked). During our 24 hours stay, the hostility we felt was just not right unfortunately and as result means we will not ever come again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to Sigiriya rock and pindurangula. Great meals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located near the rock, in beautiful ground, with a lovely garden and wonderful pool overlooking Sirigiya rock. Rooms are all one level, very well appointed and comfortable. Buffet breakfast is excellent befitting a high end hotel. We did not eat dinner and cannot comment. If you get a discount on the room, it is an outstanding deal.
Cons: Reception on arrival was sordidly slow with registration. It is not clear why it should take 20 minutes to process paperwork and we were the only one.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, the view from the swimming pool is really splendid. Most of the people just stay one night, but its worth staying two or three nights just to relax a bit. Breakfast was excellent. We stayed for dinner and there also food was nice , wine also ;-) and the service was very nice ! staff is very helpful ! There was a live singer and a magician for the kids, nice ! Go and see a sunrise !
Cons: euh ... nothing ...

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful environment, nice combination with nature. A homely atmosphere with friendly staff. Excellent food.
Cons: Would have been better if WiFi was available for rooms. But still in a way it was better as we could enjoy the nature more.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location inside a park with nice view on the lion rock from swimming pool.
Cons: Second time I come here , staff better before especially for the restaurant, this time waiters don’t speak English and didn’t know the menu also when order one dish come back 10 minutes later , not available on that 3 times!!! Each time 10 minutes later come back not available !!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely setting, lots of nature & great view of the rock from the pool. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The food was good, we had dinner the first night & breakfast each morning.
Cons: The pool area was a bit tired looking & the pool was full of leaves but can’t be helped with all the trees surrounding the property. They did try & clean these out daily. Still didn’t stop us going in for a dip after our trek up the rock.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: one of the best hotel i have been in Sri lanka
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly positioned for easy access to Sigiriya Rock. Nice secluded rooms set in extensive grounds. Lovely swimming pool.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: One can’t help but feeling transported away to a tropical paradise on arrival at SV. The whole estate is teaming with life; for lack of other tourists due to the Covid-19 outbreak we had critters, birds and reptiles for company which made the whole experience all the more unforgettable. The stand-out feature of the property was without a doubt the extraordinary view of Sigiriya rock which looms proudly over the delightful child-friendly swimming pool from dusk till dawn.
Cons: We couldn’t comment on the facilities as many were closed (eg the Ayurvedic centre).

7.9 Good
Pros: New hotel, very clean, beautiful entrance and Swimming pool Staff were very nice and kind, some stuff were forgotten in our room, they were quite fast getting back (1st night no towels, second night no refill of soap) Facilities are great with the pool and we took a massage, very good!
Cons: Disappointment was the location. We stayed 3 nights and we were isolated, nothing to see nor walk around once you are back to the hotel. But for 1 or 2 nights should be fine as the place is quiet. Last thing was the food. Again I think for 3 nights because of the location, we had to eat at the hotel, and honestly for this type of hotel food quality could be much better. And quality is one thing, but the rates applied were really too expensive. Some dish were invoices 2500/2700 Rp and were not nice. So my feeling is because we were “blocked” in the hotel, price applied were high because anyway you can’t go anywhere else. So effort on the food or price to be applied.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: It was in an isolated location. Full of mosquitos, rooms smelt dank and cupboards smelt of cockroaches. There was a frog in the bathroom. And when we decided to move somewhere else for the next 2 nights the hotel refused to refund the payment for the days we did not stay there. Terrible!
6.7 Good
Pros: I loved the location.
Cons: The bed sheets were really scratchy. Not cotton.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The tree house with music and barbeque night..
Cons: Everything was fine but we were alone.. people should come back to their normal life style to enjoy such a lovely places like amaara..
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and was made available extra early to leave early to Sirigyia.
Cons: Only stayed one night, dinner (beafsteak and tiramisu) was not so good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Can enjoy the wild life outside... Nice water stream. Wonderful tree house...
Cons: Good if they let us stay at tree house in the night...

Cons: Insects
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole atmosphere of tranquility, the surroundings amidst rice paddies and near a small lake. The staff were friendly and discrete, the bungalow authentic, yet very comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is your personalized private jungle experience, at the comfort of lavish accommodation which truly respects nature and the environment. We stayed in a private villas with a private pools - it was an amazing getaway, so quite, so peaceful, and the rooms had so much to offer in terms of comfort and amenities. Breakfast was delivered to my room at my own request and personalized menu. A highlight of your day would be encountering those abundant jungle birds and critters, watching the monkeys jump across tree branches, while enjoying the sizable infinity pool. The staff are incredibly polite and friendly. I wanted to share my special thanks to Mr. Rawan, who made my stay extra special.
Cons: what's not to like?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful , natural, very peaceful place. Don't stay here if you like action.
Cons: I think the view of our cottage was set up wrongly, as it seemed in many others too. From the bedroom/livingroom you looked into nextdoors side wall, while a window behind the shower overlooked the green pond/marshland..... wish that had been the view from my bed....

The room was furnished very nicely, with a very comfortable bed, and everything was very clean. The food was delicious - we had a lot of traditional Sri Lankan food, which was superb, and there was also great Western food available when we wanted it. We were there for New Year's Eve, when the resort put on a delicious buffet with a live band, which had a great atmosphere and was a lovely way to see in the new year. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little place tucked down a little lane off Sigiriya's 'main street.' It really felt like I was in the middle of the jungle but it was only minutes from shops and restaurants. It's also one of the closest guesthouses to Lion Rock, which you can easily walk to. The owners are lovely, are a font of information and can organise all your transport for you in and around Sigiriya, as well as coming up with itinerary suggestions for you. It was one of the best value places I stayed at and the breakfast was lovely - full of interesting little snacks I'd never tried before, as well as fresh fruit and coffee/tea/juice.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Many thanks to Pienta and his lovely wife for making our stay even better!! The rooms are very(!) clean, the food is finger licking good and the hosts will do everything in their power to help out. They are just lovely. Also, Pienta gave us honest advice for things to do (and the prices). The homestay itself is located within walking distance from the lion rock, bars and restaurants. And it has a wonderful flower garden. We felt really welcome. Highly recommended

Pros: Serenity and peacefulness. Food was very good and staff were very attentive
Cons: Staff asking too many questions. I understand they are trying to be friendly but it’s annoying
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms, absolutely brilliant staff who went out of their way to make you comfortable and just a sensational view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: WGS’s setting is spectacular, it takes full advantage of the Sigiriya lion Rock vista. The villas or suites have been designed for space, comfort and luxury. The aesthetics are spot on as are the furnishings. The service matches all of these considerations. The surrounding bird life is many and varied and creates a relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: The wifi - different passwords for different spots and considerably sluggish

Pros: Service - staff- aesthetics- location - design - spa - breakfast

Featured amenities include luggage storage and a safe deposit box at the front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kuwera was amazing - we loved this place and had an amazing stay! The staff are super friendly and helpful; the bungalows are comfortable; the food is wonderful (3 meals a day if you want) - plus a great pool and other facilities like the yoga area. The staff helped us plan a few different day tours and also offered tuk tuk tranfsers to local spots (including Sigiriya). It was the perfect place to end our trip in Sri Lanka and I hope we will be able to stay again one day. No need to bring any bottled water, as they have a central drinking water supply.
Cons: Absolutely not one single problem with Kuwera, however the village they are situated in can get a bit noisy at times. It's also a bit out of the way - you can't really walk anywhere, need to get a transfer.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely facilities, great food and super friendly staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great stay at Kuwera Eco Lodge. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Meals were very good with exceptional service. We stayed in a room with a loft for the kids which they loved.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We so enjoyed our stay at Kuwera Eco Lodge. We booked at the last minute as we were not happy where we were staying before. We couldn’t have made a better choice. It’s in a secluded location, which means you can relax. The pool and the area around it is lovely. The bungalows are simple but very comfortable. We visited Sigirya early morning on the one day we had there (we stayed two nights) and got back for a delicious breakfast at about 10am and the relaxed for the rest of the day. It’s about 20 minutes in a tuk tuk and Prasad, the manger of the hotel, took us and picked us up after 2 1/2 hours. The staff at the hotel are fantastic. Such nice people. Also the food is stunning. We had dinner there both nights & thoroughly enjoyed everything. It’s a set menu with a lot of the ingredients from their organic garden. The dinner costs a bit more than you might pay in a restaurant, but still cheap by western standards and worth every penny. We liked the ethos of the hotel of no plastic. There’s a water fountain where you can get drinking water. All in all a really memorable stay at a wonderful, small hotel.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nested in a beautiful garden it’s a cozy place designed to take you away from everyday’s life and fully immerse yourself in nature and peace. Great design small size excellent food from their own organic farm friendly staff and a nice pool to enjoy. Excellent location to discover the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka with its ancient cities and wildlife parks nearby. They have yoga classes and there is an Ayurvedic spa in the nearby little town. You feel refreshed and rejuvenated by staying there.
Cons: The standard room overlooks the entrance has little view and a shared patio with the adjoining room. Not really nice during the day. Much better to stay in the bigger rooms with full garden or pool view for more privacy and space.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Extra service like fixing our laundry even though this was not part of their normal offering
Cons: Very bad internet connection
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really can't recommend this place enough. We stayed in many hotels during our 21 days stay on Sri Lanka and this one occured to be such a nice suprise and to be so beyond our expectations. Firstly, the staff- is so great, friendly, helpful. They are all lovely, we felt like at home :) As vegetarian they prepared us vegetarian curry (we requested it earlier) twice and for a great price (discount from non-veg dishes) and when talking about food.... it was so delicious. This was the first hotel we stayed in Sri Lanka and that time we didn't know that it would be one of the best curries we would have on Sri Lanka:) Breakfasts are also amazing- sri lankan omlettes, hoppers, dhal, pani pol pancakes, fruits, juices- so rich and so yummy. Swimming pool- very relaxing and calm area. No music at all, only the sounds of nature. You can observe lot of squirels. Rooms- clean, nicely decorated, the bathroom is also clean Location- maybe it is not central, but the village surrounding is really nice, you can take bikes for free (maybe they are not in the great condition but it is a nice experience to use them and discover the village) and go to Pidurangala (it's very close, about 15 minutes ride), There is no problem with arranging tuk tuk tu Sigiriya which costs 1500 (both ways)- hotel arranges you whatever you ony want. They organized us a really nice Kurulu safari in attractive price. Additionaly about the location- if that great food the location is not a problem in the evening because I can't find no reason to go and dine out. Do it at Kuwera and you won't regret. To sum up- the hotel is little, hidden paradise with great surrounding, lovely people working there and delicious food.
Cons: Can't find anything not to like
7.1 Good
Pros: Setting in the jungle is quite nice (but a bit far to really be able to ride a bike to main attractions) Beautiful garden and identified trees The food was really delicious both breakfast and dinner Staff from the kitchen extremely nice and professional
Cons: Bed not so comfortable, very hard mattress Pool seemed a bit dirty but must be hard to have perfectly clear water when in the jungle Very pricey transfers...expect to pay double what a pick me or Uber taxi would cost
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very secluded and peaceful, but the use of the free bikes meant we got to Sigiriya for free in 20 minutes and were able to explore the town at our leisure. The staff were very friendly when we arrived, and the food was really delicious - we asked to have curry for breakfast on the second day alongside western food which made it even better. Great environmentally friendly initiatives such as filling up a jug for drinking water and re-useable pots for shampoo / conditioner.
Cons: The bed linen was just a sheet and we tend to prefer duvets. The bikes could have been in better condition - the brakes weren't great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible hotel, wonderful staff, amazing food! loved every minute of our stay but what made it so good was the staff! Smiley faces, kind, polite, discreet and helpful. The pool was great although we couldn't really enjoy it because it was rainy but everything at Kuwera Eco Lodge was great :) Definitely recommend having dinner there - they source the vegetables from their own garden and the food is exceptional!
Cons: loved everything - It's a 10 minute tuktuk ride from the centre of Sigiriya but it's worth it.
