all of it
Usually I start a review with the positives but this hotel needs to address its problems Bathroom - The toilet soil pipe was leaking sewage water over the floor (this looked like it had been happening for some considerable time). We told reception but no one fixed it. It’s not very pleasant having to try to avoid stepping in it! The bath panel was also falling off the front of the bath. After flushing the toilet you needed to take the lid off the cistern and push a lever to get the cistern to fill up with water. We didn’t bother reporting this as they could not be bothered to fix the leak. We had to ask the receptionist for toilet paper and soap/ shower gel as the room wasn’t cleaned during our 3 day stay. Smoke - the room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. Despite leaving the door open we could not get rid of the smell. Balcony - the balcony was unfinished. The hotel had started to tile it but had given up so there were bits of jagged concrete exposed. Noise - Whilst they have UPVC windows this doesn’t block the noise of the trams. Generally the hotel was quite noisy (doors slamming, people talking in the corridors). Payment - we arrived after midnight and were asked immediately to go to the bank. As people were fighting in the street this was not a great idea. This would not be ideal for solo travellers. I have travelled all around the world and this is the 1st time I have been asked to go to a bank after midnight to pay for a room. Positives The reception staff were friendly and spoke some English. The reception works 24hrs. The hotel is well located. The metro station to the airport is about a 7-10 minute walk. The main sights are easy to reach on foot . Restaurants, bars and shops are nearby. We tried the Italian restaurant which made great pizzas in a wood fired oven. It’s a shame they can’t be bothered to fix long standing problems.
Great location, literally in the middle of the city. Bars, restaurants, main attractions are in walking distance. Perfect for bagpackers for a couple of nights.
the pub/restaurant next door.
rooms are small and old fashioned. the shower and toilet are combined and the whole bathroom is like a very untidy wet room. the decor is from the 80's possible sooner.
good value for money. Very helpful host with local attractions
Room was a bit smelly, bit musty and could do with a bit of an update.
