Nice, modern looking room, comfy beds, good shower.

Breakfast was only meh, but at least you can make your own waffles. Gutted about the weather being so unexpectedly cold, would have loved to try the pool and hot tub.

So many thoughtful touches throughout the common areas and the room. The design is simply amazing, yet functional too. Bed was comfy, and there was plenty of room to spread our camping/hiking gear in the room (we went backpacking the next day). Breakfast was solid, the fire pits are wonderful (s’mores at night!) and the bar/lounge was perfect for getting some work done in the afternoon. Location is only a 10 minute walk from the village.

    Nothing!

About

Overview

South Lake Tahoe is known for its access to the crystalline waters of the lake, incredible skiing and wintertime sports, as well as for enjoyable gambling, at least on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. Guests visiting the area will find that The Coachman Hotel has a lot to offer that will improve their overall experience.

The Coachman Hotel is located on the California side of the lake, but it’s a short drive to everything that Nevada offers. It also offers plenty of enjoyment right on property. According to the hotel’s owners, the property was redeveloped and redesigned as “a new motel experience that embraces modern style and convenience while celebrating escapes to nature.”

Guests will find 42 rooms available at the hotel, all of which feature modern designed furnishings and décor to achieve a minimalistic style. The hotel is located almost on the lake, and has private beach access. There is an outdoor pool available, as well as a rooftop terrace. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the property, and continental breakfast is provided throughout the week.

Nearby, guests will be able to reach the Lakeside Marina within just seven minutes. Edgewood Golf Course is 13 minutes away by foot, but less than five minutes by car. Bijou Golf Course is located 10 minutes away by car. Heavenly Ski Resort can also be reached within about 10 minutes by car.

Whether visiting in the summer or winter, guests will find that The Coachman Hotel offers comfort and a unique stay.

FAQs when booking at The Coachman Hotel

What makes The Coachman Hotel worth a visit?
This motel is imbued with history, dating back to the 1960s when it was still two buildings. Back then, they were built during the tourism boom following the Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley, and only combined in the 1980s into one building. The hotel offers you a unique accommodation amidst the buzz of Lake Tahoe and the Heavenly Village and creates a modern setting within a well-established hotel.
What activities are offered at The Coachman Hotel?
On some evenings, the hotel hosts s’mores around the fire pits, which guests can join for free. Outside the hotel, you can find even more entertainment at the Heavenly Village with a movie theater, ice rink, and mini golf, among more. On Lakeside Beach, guests can take advantage of the beach volleyball court, as well as the picnic tables. At the Lakeside Marina on the beach, guests can go kayaking, jet skiing, or paddle boarding.
What is the best route to use when going to The Coachman Hotel?
When you come from Reno by car, it will take about 1h of driving to reach The Coachman Hotel. Get on I-80 East and then follow I-580 South to US-50 West via Carson City. Follow the road until you turn right onto Lake Parkway, which merges into Pine Boulevard, on which the hotel is located. Coming from the direction of Sacramento, take US-50 East to Pioneer Trail and turn right onto Pioneer Trail. Turn right onto Lake Tahoe Boulevard and opposite the Heavenly Village, turn left onto La Salle Street. Then turn right onto Manzanita Avenue to reach the hotel.
How extensive are The Coachman Hotel meeting facilities?
In total, the hotel provides guests with 900 sq ft of conference and meeting space. Their main conference room has a private break-out room and connects to the 1,000 sq ft outdoor rooftop terrace. For your convenience, the facilities include a fully equipped kitchenette with a glass door fridge and draft taps for various beverages. The Community room is also a great option with a large community table for 10 people. Alternatively, there is the Intimate Meeting Suite with a 300 sq ft living room, flipcharts, and two separate bedrooms.
How much are the additional charges when I bring a pet to The Coachman Hotel?
The Coachman Hotel is happy to accommodate two pets per guest of any size in one of their pet-friendly rooms. In order to maintain the hotel in an immaculate and impeccably hygienic state, they charge approximately $50 per stay for pets. When booking, let the hotel know you’re bringing a pet, so the correct room can be allotted.
What can guests do at The Coachman Hotel lobby?
At the hotel lobby, guests can come together to chill out, drink a hot coffee, or read. From here, people have views over the pool, hot tub, and the fire pits and can cozy up with one of the books provided on the lobby shelves. A variety of games is also at your disposal and can keep you and your family and friends entertained when returning from your day trips or before venturing out. (Prices checked 26/06/19).
