Very friendly with special events for children (focused on families), a lot of space in common rooms (also own library), a good location (outside busy streets but close to the city), excellent food, free travel card for public transport, trains and mountain lifts.
For demanding customers - no choice of dinner (but a possibility of changes in case of allergies, etc.), rather old-fashioned creaking furniture and floors in rooms and common rooms (but this is the style of this house).
Very comfortable, excellent service
I would have appreciated knowing ahead of time that public transportation into St. Moritz is not convenient - one needs a taxi.
The staff were excellent offering local advice. The meal at the property was magnificent.
Really good location being situated on the outskirts of St Moritz. Wonderful hotel grounds. Excellent ambience throughout the hotel. Gorgeous views from rooms and excellent meals.
Nothing, I really liked the property.
It's run professionally as a hotel... but it feels like a "family hotel", almost like staying in a big house with friends. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to make you feel at home. We highly recommend the "full board" experience (pay a bit extra in order to include dinner)-- given the exorbitant prices in Swiss restaurants in general, the price is quite low and we really enjoyed the food. There's only one dish each evening (no menu to select from), but it's a different dish each evening, prepared nicely, and delicious, with a substitution option for vegetarians. The building is beautiful and has a lovely view out across the lake and the mountains. We were just two middle-aged adults traveling, but it is *extremely* "family friendly" and is a good place to stay if you have young children or babies; a playground just outside, nice facilities inside for keeping them entertained, laundry available on-site.
Can't think of anything, really-- we had a great stay. Note that it is quite popular for families with young children and babies, so there are often crying babies in the dining room. We don't mind that ourselves. :-) ... just mentioning it in case someone else cares. It's a 10-minute walk from the nearest bus stop, so if you're not driving a car, you've got a bit of a walk. Or you can take a taxi from St. Moritz train station, if you don't mind the expense.
With a stay at Chesa Spuondas in St. Moritz, you'll be on the waterfront, within a 5-minute drive of Lake St. Moritz and Engadin. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
