Location is perfect. Beautiful hotel.
The check out person was friendly and polite and the hotel itself was beautiful.
The check in gentlemen was a bit rude and didn’t smile. Super awkward.
The staff was incredibly friendly and extremely attentive to our needs. We requested a quiet room and received what we asked for. Everything was immaculate and having a pool and a health club with a steam room was an added bonus to our stay.
If you drive and park over overnight leaving on a work day morning can be a little difficult as Union station is across the street and morning commuters tend to walk directly into the path of where you exit the Fairmont in your car. It would help to have a hotel employee come out and assist with clearing vehicular and pedestrian traffic so you can exit the Fairmont in your car safely.
Bed was comfortable
Heating system was loud. Walls were paper thin. Could hear room conversations as I passed doors. Especially being placed so super close to the elevator.
Christmas getaway
We traveled by Via and walked right across the street. Library bar is lovely. Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Everyone should give themselves a treat and stay at the Royal York.
Comfortable
It was under construction (renovation) and some facilities were closed
Beautiful hotel, shame about the lifts
We loved spending a night in the hotel. Our first room was next to the elevators - convenient but so noisy! We were kindly accommodated in a new room after voicing our concern. The room service meal was delicious and great value. Highly recommended.
Great location and friendly staff. Can’t help but get swept up in the grandeur of the lobby.
Not great value for money. Paid for ‘upgraded’ room and couldn’t tell the difference. Our reservation at Epic was mysteriously cancelled (eventhough they called twice to confirm reso). Rushed out after only an hour for another event. If the location was anywhere else, wouldn’t stay again.
Great hotel
Excellent old luxury hotel in downtown Toronto, ideally situated next to the railway station. Very nice staff.
Great hotel
Room was very noisy. The front desk was very responsive when I made it known that people next door were very noisy. Also, they charged me for WiFi which seems cheap.
Adjoining and hallway noise!!!
Excellent service
Pricey, but worth it.
Location is great. Didn't have meals there but heard good reports.
Bottom (fitted sheet) didn't fit the mattress and kept coming off.
Classic hotel, close to the train station and all of downtown. As always atreat to be a guest.
Location. Easy access to subway and buses.Good restaurant in the hotel and plenty of good restaurants locally.
Can feel rather impersonal.
We stayed at The Royal York nine years ago so it was so good to see that it was still a delightful place to stay. From our arrival everyone was extremely helpful and friendly and we were so pleased to see Alina in the York Station Bar after all these years....like meeting up with an old friend and her Martinis are amazing! Wish we could have stayed longer and looking forward to the next time. Thank you.
Didn't make it in time for breakfast on our last day, our fault wanted to get the packing done and by then the deli-bakery did not have much selection. It was 10.30am. Not much of a complaint is it? PS Haven't looked at your guest reviews on website.
The staff are far superior to any other hotel starting with the most important dept. The doormen & valets. 100% friendly, professional & helpful!
Nothing
Centrally located, ability to get around downtown underground directly from the hotel, security
Room was quite small, for the price would expect a few other in room items to be included like water bottles, robes and slippers, news paper
The facility was clean. The service was very good. The food was excellent. The room was ready early. The parking garage was convenient.
The staff were very efficient, the room was clean and well designed and the beds were amazingly comfortable! We also really liked the express checkout option which made catching a flight much less harried.
No, I would definetely return.
Promptness of the staff, concierge was very helpful
Location (Toronto downtown)
Noisy air conditioning; No light in the wardrobe room (one bulb missing, the other burnt; I had to ask them to fix the problem).
