If you are going to pay a high fee to a travel agent for a homestay at Switzerland home, this is the BEST B&B. This farm stands in the middle of a hill with a nice view. Cows eat grass, goats walk, and a dog ran in the garden, and a large tractor stops in front of the farm. This is a really "active" farm. Don't miss the stars in the night sky in the sound of cow-bells. Very friendly hosts live in the same space and all hosts are friendly and kind. Their daughter was very polite. She greeted us with a formal bowing, and gave us a memorial present. This will be our treasure of Switzerland travel. At dinner, you can eat Switzerland homemade dishes. The food is very delicious! Everything was wonderful memory what the host told us. She is a flower artist and had learned Japanese IKE-BANA. The flower arrangements of the restaurant and rooms are all her works. Those were great works. It's about 10 minutes' walk from the B&B to the top of the pass. We went to the top at the sunset, strolled around for an hour. In the next morning, we hiked to the top again to see Sunrise. There was an incredibly beautiful view of the Southern Alps. That view still crosses my mind. Breakfast is bread and cheese, this is a simple and perfect breakfast! Fresh fruits were served a lot (in our case those were grapes), and the jam was homemade. Juice is taken from the host family home. Of course, cappuccino is also provided. There is no cutting corners. We paid in cash after the breakfast. Total fee was 140 CHF. (We shared two dishes for dinner, had two coffees and aperitifs). It was a very reasonable, amazing relaxed Switzerland life. I'd like to go back to that comfy bed soon. Highly recommended!
You'll need a car, but you can get to this B&B by easy hike in about an hour from Le Reymond station. There is a yellow hiking guide in front of the station. Please walk to Tête de Ran or Col de la Vue des Alpes with Google! The pick-up service seems to be provided by host's husbands only. If you need a pick-up service, I think it would be more polite to email before booking. (All e-mails were written in German. You can probably email in French or Italian too.)
Beautiful location. Friendly host.
Host spoke VERY little English, though advertised as speaking English. Breakfast was plentiful, but not the best, ad consisted of dry bread jam and cheese. Flies everywhere.
Located in the Vue des Alpes mountain pass, this traditional B&B serves homemade Ticino specialties. It offers guided hiking tours. All rooms at B&B Les Gümmenen have free Wi-Fi, views of the garden and shared bathroom facilities. At the café-bar, guests can enjoy a variety of regional dishes, such as rösti, Neuchâtel fondue, risotto and polenta, which is the house speciality. The menu also includes fine wines and delicious desserts. Breakfast includes home-made extra-dark bread, butter, home-made jams and apple juice from a local farm. At the garden, which includes a seating area and a playground, guests can enjoy the views of the Jura Mountains. Les Gümmenen B&B offers organised hiking tours on full moon nights, husky dog rides and snow shoeing tours. Guests can also visit the regular ski tracks located just 1 km from the house.
