Location was ok on main thoroughfare.
Overall ambiance poor. Drive in and out of fort-like motel frontage and impression is not inviting with crowded parking and no landscaping.
Nothing didn't stay got charged anyway
Staff and ownet
Good basic hotel as a base for exploring Sequoia N
Pros: Hotel was clean and safe. 24-hour check-in. Hotel had been renovated in the last five years (which you don't always get for a hotel in this price category). AC worked well (which was important; it was pretty hot!) Pleasant staff. Hotel is conveniently across the street from a Starbucks, sub sandwich shop, and many other convenient stores and pharmacies. Hotel is about 45 min from the Foothills entrance to Sequoia National Park. It's about 1.5-2 hours from the General Grant Tree, Lodgepole Base, Big Tree Museum, etc., since these are in the interior of the park. Overall, this hotel was only $65, and it was clean and safe, so you could do a lot worse!!
Cons: Included breakfast was not too good. Unhealthy, starchy options; coffee was really poor. Also, this hotel is evidently really trying to save money -- there were lots of signs all over warning you of extra fees if you get the towels too dirty, or remove them from the room during the day (say, to go swimming in the many nearby swimming holes). They tried to save so much money that they unplugged every lamp and even the fridge during the day. This was frustrating when we came back to the room with sandwiches one night. We wanted to put them in the fridge to bring them hiking the next day, but the fridge had been unplugged and was warm inside, and would take many hours to get cool again. So we had to throw our sandwiches away. :-( Same thing with putting breakfast items in your room -- it's tricky, because fridge will be unplugged during the day.
Room is clean, although table is losing paint. Breakfast is OK. Close to many restaurants.
The air conditioner is very loud. But I have to leave it on through night since it is hot. The lady in charge did not look very friendly.
I liked its location within the city limits , close to all the restaurants and other facilities. It was within walking distance of many shopping areas.
The first two nights of my stay there were hotel guests staying there ., that made alot of noise both night , they were young guests , that started around 11pm and continued until after 3am , outside their rooms, laughing and talking loudly, keeping me awake. It was very disturbing and not very restful.
swim pool area was dirty
The rooms were as expected, very clean and comfortable with great air conditioning.
Close to the main roads, TV, Microwave & fridge available on each room
Air-conditioning very loud, you could hear every step of the people in the room above yours, poor breakfast
Quick check-in and check-out, fridge, free parking, free wi-fi, clean room.
Although it is good, that there is an air conditioner in the room, it is extremely noisy. Room door was too thin and unreliable to give you the feeling of safety.
Friendly staff. Nice swimming pool. Good location for 1 day visit of Sequoia and King Canyon national parks. Very close by walk to "The Hometown Buffet" (just cca 500 m), where are served every Friday and Saturday very nice steaks!
Cheap, convenient place ... within driving distance from the Sequoia & Kings Natl. Parks. You get what you pay for ;-)
There was some road construction just outside the motel - quite noisy but I'm sure that's just temporary
Nothing. It was awful!!!!
Everything. It was really dirty, noisy and situated in a dangerous street.
nothing relly attractive
The price was right. The sheets and pillow cases were clean. Night Staff was helpful.
It was a basic motel room. Facilities are in need of maintenance/upgrade: paint, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, vanity & sink, shower head, toilet but for $60.00 a nite it was just ok. Parking was very limited - small spaces. I was glad I wasn't in a bigger vehicle. Minimal breakfast choices.
