The Hotel is located well . However it is not really a walking distance to monuments or museums. I believe there is public transport, though with a family we mostly used cabs and they were easily available all the time. The hotel has a Bar which is nice place to wind down in the evenings. There are a reasonable options of breakfast ( Pret, Starbucks, &- eleven) and nearest convenience is about 2 blocks away, but 24 hours The room was very spacious and that really helped. Both the sections had amenities and long seating/ storing space. The beds were comfortable too.
Our check in ( though at midnight) after a 10 hour drive was very perfunctory. The staff at counter refused to entertain any request on room or on opening the sofa bed ( no housekeeping staff), and almost told us to go DIY. Only after I strenly told them that I expect this at the very least, did the concierge who brought up the luggage, opened our bed. The communication to the property was also challenging. We had to inform them that we would check in very late and there was no direct number to the property. It kept going to the central call center and then after many attempts we could get through. We were on road, and found it very annoying not to be able to call directly. All Garden Inn properties are acquired, hence the condition of rooms and bathrooms look a bit dated by Hilton standards. Being HHonors members, we expect very high levels of upkeep. The wifi in the room was patchy . What I really did not expect was their inability to provide an Electric kettle. As an International chain, Hilton can understand habits of people worlwide, and we clearly do not drink cofee in the morning. We also need our water boiling hot and not lukewarm, as dispensed by the cofee machine. The staff was functional, not warm. Except one lady ( on training) who was there every evening and was freindly and warm, and very attentive.
This is a family friendly hotel and the location was perfect with the metro stop across the street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast before leaving for sightseeing each day. We also ate dinner there a couple of times and the food was very good and compared to some of the places we ate for lunch was very reasonably priced. They even have Pay-it-forward box so people can share the metro cards when they are done so you don’t have to buy your own and some still had funds on them to get us started.
The free WI-FI wasn’t very good but to be honest we were so tired after sightseeing that even the kids didn’t really care. It wasn't a big deal to us but to someone else they may want to consider upgrading to the premium WI-FI that they offer for a nominal charge.
Great location. Easy to get to all the attractions and bus tours.
The property had the wrong guest count for our reservation. They also did not provide my breakfast voucher for the first day until later in the evening. We ended up having to find a place to eat off site. They also did not have a matching rate in their system. We had no clue where the pool was and they did not offer a map.
Friendliness of the staff.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel
