Attractive room. Sparkling clean, modern bathroom Very good WiFi Outstanding breakfast in room with beautiful view.
Hard to find on very narrow road, not well signed. No parking nearby. Hot room with considerable street noise. Fan would have been welcome. No one present outside of breakfast hours. Did not have a personal feeling.
We stayed in one of the apartments. The owner Josi was very helpful and she helped us by giving us travel advice from Vienna before we got there. The apartment was clean and spacious. We had breakfast in the main guest house, which was lovely. The views from the breakfast room in the main guest house are stunning.
The only small isuue we had was we cooked in the apartment and then washed up but there was no draining board but there was a dishwasher so that may explain why.
Breakfast was excellent, with more choices than anywhere else we stayed- superb! The rooms were laid out in a kind of crazy fashion, but that was OK- it made the place that more interesting.
It, was a steep walk up the hill, carrying our bags, but that was our choice to travel without a car. I don't know how booking.com computes the overall score, but I'd rate it t least an 8.8.
It was hot in Austria during my vacation: hot in Vienna, and I think possibly hotter in Weissenkirchen. How amazing to check into the lovely Gaestehaus Turm and find a fan blowing a cool breeze in my room. Not only that, but there was a chilled bottle of sodawater waiting in the fridge. The room was quite large, immaculately clean and comfortably furnished. The window on the front had a view to the Danube. Velux windows on either side provided excellent cross-ventilation. The building itself dates from 980 AD; the renovation was done with care to preserve the authenticity. The owner was very kind, coming to rescue me after I could not quite find the place to park (and driving in the narrow roads was stressful for me). Breakfast was terrific--even a self-service coffee machine with latte macchiato, espresso, etc at the touch of a button. At the time of checkout, I sampled a couple of delicious wines and bought a few bottles to bring home: a good way to preserve memories of the Wachau.
The bed was incredibly comfortable, but the pillow was "too soft" for me. Pillow preferences are a very personal choice, however, so this one might have been "just right" for somebody else.
Gorgeous traditionally styled Gästehaus with wonderful views over the Wachau. Josi the hostess was lovely.
