The hostel offers a voucher for a free dinner at their bar next door. The vouchers are supposed to be available from 5:30 to 6:30pm, according to signs posted prominently. When we asked for one at 6:15pm on our first night there, we were told they had just run out. The next night, when we asked at 6pm, we were told they were now being handed out from 5 to 6pm. Upon further questioning, we eventually still got one and had a very nice lasagna at the bar, decent portion too. The free dinner is pretty much the only thing this place has going for it, other than the location, which couldn't be more central.
The room we got had nothing to do with the one pictured in the photos. It was less than half the size with most depicted facilities missing or unusable. The "tea and coffee facilities" consisted of a mouldy kettle, but no cups. The room was tiny and barren, the tiny window was at a height of two metres and didn't shut properly, letting in the cold and noise from the street. The bathroom was okay-ish, but the ventilation didn't work at all and the room stayed very moist. Free Wi-Fi is only available in the common area on the ground floor and is abysmally slow. The kitchen is a joke. Tiny, massively overcrowded, dirty and lacking basic facilities. It's less than half the size it would need to be to be acceptable for a hostel this size. Staff were trying to be helpful, but were very slow and often confused, everything seemed very disorganised.
Super close to everything you need in town. Able to leave luggage in a secured room after checkout
Bed was way to soft. Walls are paper thin, we didn’t hear other people in the hostel but rather everything else outside ! Construction across the street, drunk people yelling etc. made for a late night and early start in the morning :(
You get what you paid for and i got what i paid for. Staff were great. Fab location
