Red Roof Inn Cleveland - Westlake

Well I had a huge problem with renting a car to actually go to Ohio, so I had to cancel my room. I was not able to get a refund at all which sucks because I paid for a room I didn't even check in to. I was and still am super upset that I lost out on money for this room that was vacant the whole time! I just want my money back!

Rooms were disgusting

80% of the front desk staff were wonderful.

The rooms were disgusting. I drove 17 hours straight from Florida to this hotel and was extremely exhausted. I checked in, and was handed the key to a room on the second floor. I lugged my suitcase up the stairs, opened the door, and discovered a room that was not yet cleaned (it was 6 pm). Dirty towels all over the ground, trash cans over flowing, bed sheets were torn from the bed, etc. I lugged my suitcase back down and went to the front desk. The front desk woman was extremely apologetic and handed me a key to a separate room. The second room appeared okay at first glance, aside from a bug that was left squished on the wall. When I removed the bed sheets to lay down, they CLEARLY were not cleaned. Hair all over the bed, small stains, and the pillows smelled like hair grease. It seems like the housekeeping staff don't clean the sheets, they just make the beds. I was too exhausted at that point to find another hotel, so I had to curl up with my own pillow and sheets which I luckily had in my car. I would NEVER stay here again.

Very minimal

Staff was excellent.

No microwave, fridge or even a hair dryer. I was uncomfortable with the location traveling alone with two kids. Breakfast is a bag with a muffin, apple and water.
