Hôtel Du Cloître - Arles - Bedroom
1
9.2 Excellent (419 reviews)
C$ 173+
Overview Reviews
On the square, a hundred-year-old Paulownia. This tall, single tree insulates Le Cloître and casts its kind shade over groups of friends gathered at tables underneath. Inside, the air is soft, cool, calm. We are struck by its geometry. We slide down its corridors as if on skates. We can hear the local school in the distance. Everywhere the city is bustling, but then the uproar fades when it reaches the stones. The design and colors breathe new life into this space. Should we have a reading break or a coffee break, or should we have a drink on the rooftop instead? At Le Cloître, unwinding is organized. Comfort is designed to inspire. The library is made for escape. The fluidity of service is conceived for well-being. This time of calm ends in moments of sharing, in revelations. It soon becomes a necessity to stay at this hotel without stars.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property location is fantastic, and it’s courtyard is a wonderful place to relax.
Cons: Unfortunately the dyson fan didn’t quite cool down the room during the summer heat, making the evenings quite uncomfortable
9.6 Excellent
Pros: VERY CENTRAL IN HISTORIC AREA
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The food was exceptional. Wish we had had more time to explore the town
Cons: Parking issues Parking was difficult as this hotel is in an area of old town without cars for the most part. We certainly could have used better instructions on where to park and how to access the hotel before arriving.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hôtel Du Cloître is located in central Arles and everything is a quick walk so you won't need your car again until you leave unless you make a day trip out of town.
Cons: There is no air conditioning but fans are provided so in very hot weather you may not be comfortable. Parking is provided A few blocks away but is located in a very secure garage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Le Cloitre because of India Mahdavi's design. It has a wonderful fresh sophisticated contemporary look. It is a real personality like no other hotel. The location was central.
Cons: No elevator
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant location in a very funky but functional room . Upgraded for free thanks very much for an amazing stay
Cons: Fans not that great/ a hot night !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent position just a few metres from beautiful Centre ville. Helpful friendly staff on hand 24/7. Parking close by.
Cons: The amount of steps up to our room was daunting. No elevator. Best to check what level the room is on before booking. Staff will happily help with bags.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location and the interior was really cool.
Cons: The staff were not welcoming or helpful. While two reception staff stood behind their desk I had to make 3 trips to go and get our luggage from outside. No service with a smile. The restaurant outside served us a cloudy bottle of Rose which tasted off but tried to say it was normal.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice stylish interior, modern touch in old building... great bathroom with excellent shower. Nice breakfast room and nice courtyard ( with small restaurant).
Cons: No real airconditioning... the provided fan on ceiling might be normally good enough but at close to 40 degrees it had its limits....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A Continental breakfast was served in the dining room every morning. You could boil eggs to your liking. The hotel has been build into a middle ages cloister with three foot thick walls, sixteen foot ceiling, and huge windows. We were on the second floor in a very spacious room with a very unique bathroom sink and a large bathtub.
Cons: The twenty one stairs it took to come and go from our room..

Cons: Lack of choice at dinner
7.1 Good
Pros: Facilities anf staff were fantastic and very helpful
Cons: The place is nearby a swamp. it was plenty of mosquitoes/insects that have left by arms with at least 10-15 bites, even though not hurting. However my wife woke up in the morning with arms and legs full of injuries, she could not stop scratching, and even now after about 10 days and use of ointments, have still crusts on the body. A real pity, because the place and the staff were lovable, friendly and very helpful.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved, loved, loved it! A fantastic coney, very well designed family hotel. The owner even came to speak to us at dinner. Fabulous luxury, loads of space, amazing and I mean, amazing food, the most amazingly friendly and helpful staff. We wished we’d stayed another night
Cons: Struggling to find anything, we really loved it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I just love everything about this magical place.
Cons: I can’t think of a single thing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable. Staff very caring. Chef brilliant. Real luxury, but expensive
Cons: When very hot limited things to do in area.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: The bed Linen and towels. Pool lay out & pool side café good food and staff. The chef was good, very nice and understanding an asset.
Cons: 2 night stay to chill out. The management aloud lunch visitors to come and use the pool with very loud children 5-8 age!!!! in the pool, we had to leave and others did, please note this pool area is normally Carme and very tranquil. confronting the manager he said its a family hotel and condoned it, you can't argue with that, we check out.(they did not charges for the last night. no WIFI in the rooms for 3wks to date and the hotel has a 24 digit pass word in the middle of no ware, WHY and problems with the lobby connection very frustrating.

Pros: Perfect location!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location and hotel.
Cons: Nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: design with few piece of art
Cons: no lift.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: The unsmiling man asked us what we wanted like we were there to do something wrong
6.7 Good
Pros: Fantastic location right in the heart of Arles, around the corner from the Amphitheatre and the Roman Theatre, and just a 10 min walk to the main train/bus station. I was very positively surprised as I arrived very early (at around 10:30) and could already check in (even though I just wanted to leave my luggage). The hotel lobby is very stylish, and my room was rather spacious. The facilities were good as well. Cleaning of the room was good, even though I was missing a replacement soap on my second day.
Cons: Given the high ratings of this hotel, I was very disappointed to find an average room looking out onto a small parking space. The bed came only with a simple sheet (plus optional wool blanket) instead of a duvet. Even though Wifi was good and really fast, it appears to be restricted (app downloads on iOS didn't work, which was a no-go for me). Breakfast was a set menu which unfortunately wasn't worth the money. It is served either in your room or in a hall that has a sterile atmosphere. Staff was okay, but rather functional in tone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself and the location
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful find. This hotel is classified as a two star and I would happily say it was a three or four. Characteristic and the basic standard room had an adjacent seating area! Just beautiful and the staff were exceptional. Will highly recommend and return. Excellent value for money.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and quietness of establishment. Helpfulness of staff on reception.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed. Tiny bathroom with good, hot shower. Location handy to ampitheatre and arena. Lots of restaurants nearby. Aircon appreciated.
Cons: Parking a good 10 min walk away and steep narrow stairs. Don't bother with a suitcase as wont fit up the stairs. A small overnight bag is better. Our hire car got the window smashed and luggage stolen. Police found most of it the next day. A taint on our stay in Arles.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel so comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The air conditioning was greatly appreciated. The room was very large with good light. The breakfast was delicious and made to order then delivered to your table on a tray. Definitely would go here again.
Cons: The only drawback (and not anything the hotel has control over) parking is several streets away. The hotel is located in the old part of Arles with narrow streets that don’t accommodate vehicles.
Hotel De La Muette - Arles - Building
4
9.1 Excellent (839 reviews)

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and a library. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was great - everything in Arles was an easy walk. The bathroom looked like it was brand new and nicely done - but it was small. The refrigerator and safe in the room was handy. The breakfast was tasty and the staff friendly. I recommend staying in this 12th century hotel building.
Cons: The bedroom was small and looked out on another building.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Parking is very difficult
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old building with tastefully decorated bedrooms. Very comfortable. Excellent breakfast
Cons: Nothing
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, it was close to everything. The staff were very helpful and we were able to print our train tickets in the lobby. The room was large and the beds comfortable. I really liked the bathroom, very clean and the shower was big for France.
Cons: There were only stairs up to our room, I'm glad we did not have heavy suitcases.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was warm and friendly. Breakfast was generous and we'll organised despite a full hotel. Room was a good size, and impeccably clean, but air conditioning was not working (air was warm and still) and the pillows were unacceptable (flat and hard). Small problems to address. Still a very positive visit, with excellent location.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely hotel run by lovely people in a lovely place.
Cons: The sewer was a bit evident now and then
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The style was great - all rough stone and exposed beams. Location right in the heart of Arles and easy to get to and from the sights. Plenty of room space for a 2 star hotel and great shower.
Cons: It couldn't be improved but, being in the city centre is noisy. Street sweepers and revelers at all hours mean that ear plugs are needed if you have the windows open. Not a problem for us but be aware.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was exceptional and the staff very friendly and accommodating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location. Great stone walled room, comfortable bed, updated nice travertine bath/shower. Good breakfast. Nice people at the desk and in the breakfast room.
Cons: No elevator up to the 3rd floor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful- the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was roomy and the shower was strong and hot! The staff were extra helpful and friendly. We extended our stay for two extra nights and are so glad that we did.
Cons: There was nothing that we didn’t like about this experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location is the main reason to stay here
Cons: This place suffered from a lot of minor problems. Every time we opened the window the curtain rod would fall. The mechanism holding the hand-held shower was broken. There was a pot for hot water but no coffee ... and the tea was not replenished until the third day. There was a sewer gas smell coming from the shower. And, finally, although the room was large (which was much appreciated) the bed was positioned poorly...there was about 12 inches between the foot of the bed and the bathroom wall. So, getting to the bathroom was a bit of a challenge each time.

Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location. Shady garden.
Cons: Not that I didn’t like the room, but there was nothing special about the room or hotel. I was expecting a more conventional hotel, but it is a very busy place with a small reception desk and busy food counter a couple of steps away. Popular with the public who sit outside at tables, so there is endless movement and bustle. The self service breakfast is good, but dislike having to squeeze orange juice...messy. Staff on whole very good and helpful.Interesting spa.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything except for the very small size of the room but it was fair given the price. Overall great value for the money and the best location in Arles.
Cons: See above
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location to explore Arles
7.9 Good
Pros: We stayed for one night at Hotel Calendal in central Arles. The hotel is located right by the ancient Roman amphitheatre – the location could not be better. From here it is easy to walk around the historic centre of the city, to see the other Roman sights, Unesco sights and Van Gogh sights. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times: check in, throughout stay and at check out. One of the two of us had breakfast, which was buffet style with a good range and I enjoyed it in the garden.
Cons: I did not feel that the quality of the hotel quite merited the price we paid, but value for money is a subjective thing really.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Choice of breakfast menus and prices, discount on parking as advertised, very friendly and helpful staff, aircon good in room, facilities good.
Cons: all great, no bad things

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was quite pleasant, with adequate space, quaint views and a lovely setting. Modern amenities with old world charm. Location was convenient, and breakfast included numerous options and could be enjoyed in a lovely outdoor terrace.

Pros: Great location close to most points of interest in Arles village. Nice breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast space was excellent as was the food. The location was great within walking distance to the rail station.
Cons: My only complaint is that there was no elevator and bags were hard to carry on the multiple levels to get to the room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice larger room with window overlooking the courtyard Great location but not in the middle of the city center Could walk to most places in 10 minutes
Cons: I was aware that there were stairs to climb to access rooms but some were slightly steeper than expected
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, beautiful courtyard, excellent breakfast.
Cons: Room was small, but great value.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was perfect with a large assortment of choices and there are many very pleasant places to sit on multiple tiers in the center of the hotel. The location is excellent with everything in walking distance and the room was very large. The air conditioner was VERY nice and cooled the room very quickly. The view outside was stunning and the road was very quiet. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Lots of parking a block away and was only 10 Euro for 24 hours.
Cons: Our room was located up several flights of narrow stairs (3 stories?) that would have been tricky if we were an older couple or had large heavy bags.

Above all, Gillert made the stay so special with recommendations on local attractions and such hospitality. He is simply the best host I have ever met! L'Arlatan - Arles - Bedroom
8
9.1 Excellent (96 reviews)
Overview
As early as the Middle Ages L’Arlatan was recognised as being Arles’ most lavish hôtel particulier - a grand townhouse - and now, thanks to the exceptional vision of artist Jorge Pardo, it is making an outstanding début on the modern stage. A gigantic 6000 square metres of mosaic now adorns the hotel with an explosion of colour, light and contemporary design. Each room and each doorway is a unique work of art; the almost two million fragments of mosaic tile used for the renovation were all handmade. The different buildings, whose central part is listed as a Monument Historique, are set around a magnificent courtyard with a majestic staircase and lounges boasting unrivalled charm. L’Arlatan welcomes you and takes you on an exceptional, magical journey through history, culture and the senses. Nestled in the historic centre of Arles, it is just a few minutes from the Place du Forum, the Roman amphitheatre (Les Arènes) and the Church of Saint Trophime.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our rooms were a good size with comfortable beds and a large hot shower. Our room had a view onto the pool, which was small but great for a dip on a hot day. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good.
Cons: Actually getting to the hotel is difficult as you need to be buzzed through a bollard in the street a distance from the hotel. The hotel had asked us to phone them but we didn’t have good mobile reception. When you get to the hotel they park your car in the garage which takes 5 cars
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location.Just in front of Cafe de Van gogh. Great staffs. Spacious room with a nice view of Place de Forum.
Cons: Difficult to park our car but we understand that this is an old city and there are so many one way streets.

Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Pros: Lovely pool area to have breakfast
Cons: Very old bathroom and not good shower over bath quite dangerous. Very old. Beautiful old ceramic handbasin but taps did not protrude enough so when turned on water went everywhere.

The hotel was in walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Arles. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

Pros: Everything, literally! Check in, the room, location, absolutely everything. Can't say enough great things about this residence
Cons: I liked everything
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Ancient but modernized apartment, very good size bedroom, complete bathroom, a nice well equipped kitchen, and the location was excellent, close to the bridge and at the top of Rue de la Liberte, close to everywhere.
Cons: Parking was a little too far, but it did not matter in the end.
6.7 Good
Pros: Spacious room, and a very comfortable bed.
Cons: For the money, I would have expected a hook in the bathroom, a soap-dish in the shower, and a bottle of water in the fridge. Small things, but we missed them.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Located in a slum area. Access under major road construction. No convenient way to load/unload luggage, zero parking available, so reserved a space but it was >5 minute walk in a tucked away garage. Apartment on 2nd floor up filthy staircase. Carpeting, couch and bed were severely worn out. Not what was expected based on description and photos. Do not bother with this apartment.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Parking reasonable, initial reception was good.
Cons: The staff was there to greet us and took us to a nice parking lot not too far away with great prices. The unit was nicely remodeled however it was small and the bed was where you sit and watch television. We had air conditioning which barely worked it was 77 degrees which is warm for us and when we finally found somebody 5 days later he said it was working fine. Also the toilet ran and you had to jiggle it to stop it. we never saw anyone in the office to Lodge any complaints. The building was a bit tired, steps were in disrepair, outside terrace was not in good condition.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent well appointed apartment in rustic setting. Near the historic centre but in a quite district. Still close to some excellent restaurants suggested by our host. Host very helpful and friendly.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ecerything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is an original hotel with nice corridors remembering of a theater or fight theater. Never understood the use of animals for fun but feels interesting getting to your room in a nice chilly AC through those corridors. The place is nicely located at the beginning of the delta and 10 minutes from fantastic Arles. In the evenings you can have a nice wine at the hotel's bar. The hosts are really nice. Everything you need in the room but remember: you're in a delta, a beautiful one so go see the flamingos, horses and enjoy the nature. The pool looked nice but wasn't for us, however it looks great with all the garden and architecture.
Cons: Mosquitos but is delta. I am also quite sensitive. Despite three different sets of chemicals applied still felt I needed to have that in mind and felt spoiled by all the comfort in the middle of this amazing place.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, who made us feel very welcome. They made their best to secure that in spite of a very hot day and night the customers were able to enjoy the effective air conditioning as well as possible and they really succeeded in that. Great location in Camargue and good breakfast. Nice pool and garden.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owner and truly exceptional architecture from the 70s. Very nice that they have kept the rooms in authentic style.
Cons: Slight sewage smell in one of the hallways
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location it is 25 so far from Saint Marie de la Mer, but this hotel is family friendly with pool, friendly staff and the owners are very kind and answered all our questions. This Hotel is shick and look like 60's & 70's and the architecture is very nice... the breakfast is good for the price and also has a nice view from the restaurant in the hotel and pool.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before. It is an amazing place and a must for anybody remotely interested in architecture. Built in the 60’s by people with a really sharp eye for fashion. Imagine Space 1999 or any Gerry Anderson production crossed with The Crossroads Motel and you might be in the ball park. We think the building is superb. There is a pool and breakfast is served on site. A young couple have just bought this and could not be doing more to make it a success. We will stay here again. Make a point of doing so yourself. Easy journey by car or motorbike to the seaside or town
Cons: Some of the bedrooms could probably do with an update likewise the bathrooms. (But not at the expense of the lovely building.) It is a bit isolated as there is currently no onsite restaurant.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and the rooms are big. Very friendly hosts Who speaks English.
Cons: A bit far out from city and on the side of moto way. Not much restaurants closeby.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Extremely welcoming and gentle owners, we would come back anytime!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is really cool! Designed by the architect Armand Pellier (sculpteur, designer and architect) in 1965, the hotel was intended to look like a sculpture, fully integrated in its environment: the Camargue. Not just stunning, walking into this hotel immediately sets you back in time with its extremely curated original design. The staff is extremely friendly and super helpful and the hotel is spotless!! Highly recommend!
7.9 Good
Pros: Great to have a pool to cool down in at the end of the day. The breakfast was great.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Room a little small but seems to be standard for France
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and attentive. Room was clean and modern. It's in a good location just inside the walls and a couple of blocks from the Amphitheater. A garage for my bike. Reasonably priced breakfast.
Cons: I don't remember anything problematic. It's a well run hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great central location
Cons: Everything great
4.2 Okay
Cons: Got bitten by bed bugs over 10 times, the red spots are still there after almost a week...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very convenient to the train station and the walled city of Arles. We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff when checking in and we were happy that our room was ready early! The hostess had let us know the night before that breakfast would be very busy the next morning. When we showed for breakfast, the hostess had reserved a breakfast table for just the two of us, apart from the group. Now, that is good service!
6.7 Good
Pros: Good location and close to good restaurants, the river and sights
Cons: The room was too small for 2 people, it would be good for 1 only. No toiletires in rooms and breakfast was a little dodgy, particularly since we had to pay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, friendly and helpful staff, and a very comfortable room.

Cons: volume on TV too low and wouldn't go up.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff: professional, friendly and personable; late check-in due to a train cancellation was no problem. Only two people to a room was a pleasant surprise. Comfortable bed; very clean room and bathrooms. Very central location: right next to the arena and the Roman theatre. Excellent value for money. I've one suggestion, which is to provide soap at the handwash basins. Highly recommend, and look forward to staying here again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A hostel overlooking an Ampitheatre. How cool. The staff at the hotel next door who handle check in were just lovely
6.7 Good
Pros: Location is great.
Cons: There's no area to hang around to meet others other than the kitchen. Most hostels have a living area kind of thing but this one didn't. My bunk bed was very squeaky.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: good breakfast
Cons: Receptionist not that familiar with the room status
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very very good located!!!! There ist None better than that Hostel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was nice. Bed was comfy and clean. Window view was so good every night for sun set. Location was good. Easy to get everywhere. I’d love to go there again!
Cons: Breakfast was basic. But anyway they have a big fridge and nice kitchen to cook. Laundry is 10 euro. Bit expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean welcoming staff well organised
Cons: WiFi could have been better
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The place of the residence is very convenient. Moreover the staff that work there are more than gentle and friendly, they really try to help. The rooms are clean, with nice beds and excellent view
Cons: The rest of the residents made a lot of noise very early in the morning. It would be nice if it had towels or at least soap at the bathroom. Moreover there are not lockers to secure your luggage
4.2 Okay
Pros: Fellow travelers. Except those who almost started a fire in the kitchen.
Cons: Disgustingly filthy kitchen and common area. Breakfast is dirt cheap, don't expect any cereals or semi-skimmed milk (or non dairy alternative). Rooms are rather small. Staircase in poor condition. For those with mobility issues, avoid! Note that you can't pay with credit or debit card, only cash or "chèques vacances" are accepted.

The Jules César hotel & Spa in Arles was completely renovated and decorated by Christian Lacroix in 2014.Located in the Arles city center, you will experience true 5-star comfort. Formerly a 17th century Carmelitas convent this hotel offers 52 rooms, including 11 suites, a gourmet restaurant with terrace, outdoor heated pool close to the cloister gardens (open seasonally) and a registered CINQ MONDES spa.Arles is an ideal layover stop with its Roman architecture classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very nice and in a wonderful location! Breakfast was exceptional. Staff was very helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything!
Cons: The hotel is designed to blend in with the old surrounding buildings. This is so successful that I drove past twice without seeing it. A sign would help!
5.4 Okay
Pros: The Jules Cesar is located close to the Alycamps Roman Cemetery and within easy walking distance of Old Arles, with its cafes and restaurants. The building itself is a former convent, so is attractive with a lovely cloister and central herb garden. There's a pleasant garden area at the rear of the property, where the small pool is located.
Cons: Sadly, the hotel seems to be trading off past glories. Whilst the staff are very pleasant, the hotel itself feels nothing like a Five Star establishment. Our first room was poky and dark with a tiny window - and for reasons I will never understand, we had been placed in what was clearly a room that was adapted for wheelchair use (neither of us are wheelchair users), with a rail around the toilet and a shaving mirror at hip height. Further disappointments ensued when the hot water stopped working on the morning of Day 2, and my husband trod on a nail that was sticking upright from the bathroom threshold strip. We reported both problems straight away, but nothing had been resolved when we returned in the evening, nor - despite a second request - when we went out to dinner and came back at 20.30. The upshot was that we had to re-pack our bags and move to another room at 21.00 - not exactly a restful experience, and one which was dealt with very casually by the front desk. This second room was larger and better lit, but was painted entirely crimson, so it was like sleeping inside a pancreas (the Christian Lacroix décor is really quite tacky)...there was a small chair with a ripped cover in one corner, but nowhere for two adults to sit and read apart from on the bed or windowsill. The bathroom was fairly grim, with a wobbly, square black toilet seat that kept threatening to detach itself, and a black basin and bath which showed up every trace of soap or toothpaste, so looked horrible unless the cleaner had just been in. We didn't bother with breakfast as there are so many places nearby, nor with dinner as the dining room looked fairly devoid of atmosphere when we looked in. The bar was almost never staffed, so we didn't even have a drink there. When we looked at the bill, we could do nothing but give a hollow laugh. It was a ludicrous amount of money to have spent on a very lacklustre experience. We'll never go back.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very unique hotel , more like a archeological museum or designer boutique hotel. Friendly astaff who are always willing to help. We arrived by train late and coukdnt get a taxi. Hotel offered us free car pick up. Room is spacious, clean and comfortable.
Cons: Not enough working area..the desk is too small
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location and friendly staff
Cons: Quality of the rooms
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is great. Staff is nice. Good quality of Breakfast.
Cons: Courtyard should be used for breakfast or diner... They should think of renovating some rooms.
7.0 Good
Cons: Booked this hotel as parking was provide but was charged 79 Euros on leaving
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing and easy to find. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Cons: WiFi was forced you to log in regularly.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The best thing about this hotel are the staff. They were all charming and could not have been nicer.
Cons: This hotel is not a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is dated, the bathroom of the room given to us did not resemble the photo of booking.com, it was small and the water never got hot. They had no feather pillows which for a 5 star hotel is very poor indeed, however the incredibly sweet and charming receptionist Johane, sourced two for us for the second night. When we arrived the room smelt, we were offered another which smelt worse. They did put a fan in the room and a small bottle of wine to apologise but to be honest, maybe offering breakfast or free car parking would have been a more appropriate gesture. This hotel does have a small pool which is nice and a good location but is not worth the expensive €270 a night price tag.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Morden and stylish appearance, Good room size, private parking, Express breakfast, overall good value. We had a good stay.
Cons: The towels are too used
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location and parking facilities
Cons: The waiter by the name of Alexander at breakfast swiped the back of his hand against my girlfriend ‘s buttocks. He was hovering very close to her at the breakfast table when the room was empty as it was almost end of breakfast and apart from our table there were hardly anyone else and he was clearing the room. My girlfriend shouted at him when he touched her buttocks the second time as that eliminated the possibility of any accident in the touching. When I confronted him he started shouting very loudly and denying it in an aggressive and insulting manner. Totally unacceptable behaviour. My girlfriend asked to speak to the manager but only the front desk guy came and another lady waiter. She told him what happened. However the hotel did nothing at all. There was no follow up on her complaint. And the day after, that same waiter Alexander was on duty at breakfast. Luckily my girlfriend overslept and missed breakfast or she would have been extremely upset to see that waiter at breakfast. At no time did we receive any apology for the waiter’s behaviour. This is shocking for a booking.com listed hotel. This happened on 16/9/19 and we have not heard anything from the hotel on the incident. We are home now from our European holidays so a formal email complaint will be made to the hotel and booking.com.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in great location. We were staying as the season was closing so we found it nice and quiet in the hotel and had the pool to ourselves most mornings. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and always there to greet you with a smile. Breakfast had a good selection of pastries and cold plates with toaster and egg boiling facilities, the only small thing I would suggest would be for the staff to re-lay tables as the morning goes on as a few times we came down within the last hour of breakfast with only one or two tables set up with cups and cutlery, but this is only a small suggestion. Location is just a 5 minute walk to the centre of Arles and all of the attractions. Great wifi reception which as business owners was imperative to be able to hook up to everything we needed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Pool and haman
4.6 Okay
Pros: Good location. Pleasant funky reception area
Cons: Surly unfriendly reception. Double bed squeezed against a wall which I don’t consider a double room. Only one towel which confirmed to me it was a single room. Left over toiletries from previous occupant. Handle on bathroom door coming off. Safe unattached to anything. Totally empty minibar. Very tricky car access off a busy junction which the sat nav didn’t pick up.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic pool, very helpful multilingual staff, fabulous brunch, free parking too
Cons: It was a bit far walk to the centre for my mother who has mobility issues - only about 7 mins through a residential area for those able-bodied
6.7 Good
Pros: Location was good. Breakfast below standard.
Cons: No one to help you with luggage from your car to the room. Up the stairs with luggage was difficult for senior persons.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The arts in the lobby, the jacuzzi, pool, the room, the space in the hotel amaizing, clean, modern, the colors, they have nice pictures there... inside the room is very clean and they have a good space for car, internet fast.
Cons: I don’t like the are near the hotel, to entre there was strange because the hotel outside is not to modern like inside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great for parking and a short walk into the centre of town. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Hotel nice, clean, in a good location and staff very helpful. Superb
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was great. Free parking was a five minute walk away.
Cons: The room was not much bigger than the bed. My wife and I had to maneuver around each other just to get to the bath. Everything was the least that could be done, no hot water for coffee or tea, not even a second card key. The walls are so thin that we sometimes thought someone was entering our room when they were actually in the next room.

Pros: Beautiful furnishing, wonderful staff, great location
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous staff, great foot, amazing location, unique rooms
Cons: Bed rather hard & room a bit smaller than last visit but still very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is right on the square in the middle of the ancient district, overlooking the restaurant in Van Gogh's Terrace at Night, so extremely hard to get to by car. That being said, once you get to it the hotel will help you park in their lot. When we left, an amazing man from the hotel not only helped us to get our car and load it but also drove us out of the complicated area to a spot where we could get to main roads. That was service well above and beyond! The hotel itself is beautiful and historic, and every member of the staff was not only helpful but very friendly. It was a terrific base from which to explore all of historic Arles, and most attractions were easy walking distance.
Cons: Really nothing that we didn't like.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice large room, comfortable bed, very friendly staff/owners? Historic hotel located in the center of historic Arles
Cons: We avoided booking for breakfast as we considered they were somewhat expensive (although they may well have been very good value). We ate at various restaurants in the town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything—the staff, the hotel, the location.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A great location in the historical center of the city. Perfectly preserved historical building of the hotel. Professional and hospitable staff. Very spacious hotel rooms.

Pros: Location and old world charm ... make a reservation now you’ll love it
7.9 Good
Pros: History, interior design, unique charm, location
Cons: Quality of the bed mattress, staff is slightly moody, no coffee machine or press in the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The style, the friendly and helpful staff, the location.
Cons: Nothing.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Wifi wasn't working. Staff said could be weather but had just stayed at Amphitheatre hotel in next street and internet was fast. No shower. No kettle when requested. Bath took long to fill as water pressure slow. No English speaking news channel working. Wardrobe was a beautiful antique but impractical. Compared to Amphitheatre hotel this hotel was substantially more expensive per night and yet was inferior to the Amphitheatre hotel. MUCH noisier too.

7.5 Good
Pros: It was quiet and comfortable.
Cons: The shower and bathroom were a bit old fashioned.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice little hotel - AC worked great, staff was lovely, nice breakfast and it was an easy walk across the bridge into Arles.
Cons: The key situation - very hard to open the door with the key (5 or 6 twists and turns etc) that one morning my husband left the door unlocked when he went out and I was sleeping in and sure enough someone came along and opened our door! I said Hello? And he skidaddled- wrong room I guess -so we went back to using the dumb lock!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is the very friendly, best choice of stay in Arles!
7.0 Good
Pros: Buffet breakfast was good.
Cons: Water pipes made a lot of noise on the first night. Sorted next night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located in an historic area. It was easy to find parking. The hosts very welcoming as were the cleaning staff. Once out of the hotel its a short walk across the bridge and you enter the old town. Everything was close and easy to get too.
Cons: The room was simple and charming. It had all the necessary creature comforts and the hotel had a delightful antique atmosphere. Everything was as advertised, I would stay here again in a minute. Great stay!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. They went out of their way to ensure that our stay was comfortable.
Cons: Nothing - excellent hotel.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was OK, plenty of choice. The beds were very low but comfortable. The location was Ok, just over the bridge from the old town.
Cons: The hotel was dingy, heavy dark furniture and the entrance door needed painting. The towels were poor quality and there were only plastic glasses in the bathroom. It was surrounded by low cost housing and parking was difficult. The bedroom was quite small.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, easy parking, quick walk to the center
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, cozy atmosphere
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was good in terms of access to the town. An older style hotel, but was clean and comfortable. Very quiet part of the town
Cons: Further from the station than we'd envisaged, so a good 20 minute walk with luggage on a hot day wasn't ideal - we got a taxi when we needed to return to the station. Whilst it isn't far from the town centre, with a pleasant 10 minute walk over the Rhone, it didn't feel so good at night. If I was a lone female I would have not felt happy walking back, as it's located in quite a badly lit side street, not helped by the fact that the hotel's outside security light didn't work, which meant it was tricky to enter the code to get back in - take a torch !

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Small simple hotel set in old town. Breakfast and coffee from a machine but lovely fresh bread and croissant, cheese, ham, cakes. Room pleasant, a good size and air conditioning! Shower good. We had a kettle and tea (tisanes) and coffee in our room, very unusual in France. Best part really we had a balcony overlooking the square, very quiet at night but pleasant to sit and watch the world go by. Staff helpful and carried our bags up for us. Very close to the amphitheatre, places to eat, the Rhone and only 10 mins to train station.
Cons: No lift. TV in a strange place so no good angle to watch it from bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, great air conditioning, breakfast included, very friendly staff, great location.
Cons: Unfortunately no elevator, could be an issue for some, especially if you have heavy luggage.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The receptionist was extremely helpful and could communicate in English. The Continental breakfast was more than enough
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The location was excellent. The night manager was very agreeable.
Cons: The room smelled of food from cooking odors outside. There was only one luggage rack to put luggage and no other place for the second bag except on the floor. The hallway was difficult to manage and the lighting was terrible and dangerous. The woman who was behind the desk did not pass on my message asking for a larger room. The coffee machine broke down and the breakfast was mediocre. After traveling to Arles for 17 years I will not go back for a while as this hotel left a bed taste in my mouth.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All of the above
Cons: Nothing I didn’t like
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing really disappointing stay.
Cons: The room was smelling like sewage when we arrived. The host got really mad at us when we asked if it was posible to have another room and said that if we didn’t like it we could leave.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: very nice
Cons: Parking is a challenge
7.5 Good
Pros: The quiet , peaceful location of my room on the top floor.
Cons: There was no milk for hot drinks, even though there were lots of sugar sachets provided. The stairs were very winding and the corridors very narrow so it was hard to manage luggage up the stairs.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was fabulous, and the location was great! The town had a lot of history, but it was dirty and didn't seem very safe.
Cons: The town was dirty and lacked French charm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was cleaned daily !
