Pros: Nice location along river.
Cons: This inn had no shared common area to enjoy, provides large number of locals food service which limit guest availability, and service you like a large hotel.
Pros: It was a pleasant surprise. What an awesome place. Property is beautiful and room was fantastic. Staff was excellent as well. Great breakfast and dinner was also great. Will go there again if i can
Cons: Nothing bad to say. Is expensive but worth it.
Pros: The room was very quirky- like something from the raj but beautifully appointed. Ground coffee, cafetière, good shower and lovely bed linen. Very attentive staff
Cons: The bar does not have a great facility for guests wanting to have a leisurely drink as most table were I n use for meals
Pros: Gorgeous traditional Scottish hotel. Great rooms, bar and food.
Cons: Nothing!! Maybe a bit hard to get to via public transport but not a huge deal
Pros: The food was excellent and setting was beautiful, Staff was very pleasant.
Pros: The surroundings, scenery! Stunning
Pros: Beautiful location on river bank in small estate. Chosen for a family wedding last year so knew it was a good hotel. Nice food, pleasant staff, other guests relaxed and quiet rooms.
Cons: Our double bedroom was just big enough. I found the mattress topper under the cotton sheet made sleeping very warm on a summer night.
Pros: Loved the location but two weddings on and staff a bit involved with them and not so relaxing with lots going on. The food was excellent and the room lovely
Cons: As above... the second day was far better but if I had know about the weddings I would have booked at a quoted time
Pros: Stunning location set on Royal Deeside. A typical Scottish lodge with character and a very warm welcome awaits you from the staff. The chef should be complimented on the quality of his food fabulous selection at breakfast. The little extras include beautiful lemongrass and ginger hand wash and body lotion which was lovely. And water in the room with Caramel wafer biscuits, well done made it all the more special. Definitely would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Cons: There really is nothing to complain about maybe the creaky floorboards ! But that’s just the style of lodge !
Pros: Lovely location, beautiful building. The breakfast options were very good. Was so beautiful to see the river flowing as you ate your food.
Cons: Fire alarm went off at 5am which is nobody’s fault but no member of staff spoke to the small number of guests that went out of the hotel. The fire procedure was an absolute shambles!! Also, my bridesmaid stayed in room 17 and was awake all night due to the thudding music from a wedding party that night which went on until 00:20. When she complained to the two ladies at reception didn’t seem fussed at all, very disappointing. The breakfast selection was excellent but the eggs were tasteless. We had a lovely dinner the night before my wedding which was lovely apart from the atrocious duck starter which the staff took off the bill.

Cons: Sound isolation was very pore and bed wasn`t comfortable.
Pros: Everything it was tranquil staff could not do enough for you the lady who served breakfast was great nothing a bother David the owner again made sure our stay was very comfortable I could go on and on it was just great.
Pros: Very well maintained. Very clean and comfortable. Food delicious and staff very friendly and efficient.
Cons: Coffee could be improved at breakfast eg a cafetière if fresh coffee would taste better. Th hairdryer in room 18 needs replaced as very slow and low power.
Pros: Friendly & welcoming. Dinner excellent. Breakfast good. Convenient walk to town.Nothing
Cons: Nothing not to like on a one-night stay.a
Pros: Lovely atmosphere and friendly attentive staff.
Pros: The bed was comfy with a choice of types of pillow to suit every need. Breakfast was excellent. Quiet hotel.
Pros: Comfy bed. Good food. Nice view.
Cons: No wi fi in bedroom, top floor. Tv too small.
Pros: Good range of gins and whiskies at the bar. Friendly staff.
Cons: Room not made up as a double but as a twin room when we arrived. However, given complimentary drinks while they sorted this out. Asked for beef at dinner to be more well done than rare, but although the waiter made a note of this, beef was still rare when it arrived. Cobwebs were hanging from the ceiling in the room.
Pros: The hotel was lovely, we requested a specific room and were given it so were delighted. All the staff from reception, bar & breakfast were all so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. The sun shone and we able to sit and relax in the gardens. We had a wonderful weekend and highly recommend this hotel.

Pros: It was a lovely clean guesthouse in a lovely setting. Our twin room was a reasonable size. The ensuite was good. Breakfast was hearty and the croissants particularly good. The owners are very welcoming.
Cons: For us it was a bit too far out of Banchory as we were visiting people there, but having said that it was in a lovely rural setting and the location could really suit others
Pros: Made welcome and breakfast was really good. Plenty to choose from
Pros: Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and tidy. Well equipped and beds were very comfortable. Great value for money Stunning views
Pros: Very quiet place and self service bar.
Pros: Breakfast excellent.well presented by friendly staff.
Cons: Twin room too small and too many stairs.no where to put cases.
Pros: Good to find and yery quit.
Cons: No Restaurant any more.
Pros: Very good made-to-measure breakfast. Nice quiet country location.
Cons: Our bedroom was definitely not suitable for someone over 6 feet high. The bed was too short and I banged my head all night on the sloping ceiling above the bed. We eventually remade the bed front-to-back at 3 in the morning.
Pros: What a fabulous place! Our room had a river view. We had a lounge area, bedroom and fantastic bathroom. The honesty bar was a brilliant idea.
Pros: Comfy bed, luxury shower, comfy area for reading. The breakfast was lovely each day, each person could order individual personal taste breakfasts.
Cons: Parking area was difficult at really busy times.

Pros: Staff very helpful and friendly, food lovely
Cons: The mattress was not very comfortable and the room cold with no heating
Pros: The location in Banchory was convenient, and the food at the hotel was excellent, although service was slow and inconsistent.
Cons: The room was very cramped with no place for putting a suitcase or clothing that was out of the way. The bathroom contained no shelf or stand for keeping toiletries and lacked even an even surface on which to put the shaving cream when shaving. The shower lacked any place to place soap while using it.
Pros: Very good food
Cons: Room need updating
Cons: Breakfast was disappointing as this is one meal you expect a UK hotel to get right. Perhaps a little more effort would be welcome here.
Pros: Location was good
Cons: The bed was a little uncomfortable and not big enough for two people to sleep in, also no onsite parking
Pros: Convenient to the town , bathroom was good
Cons: The bar and restaurant looked very nice but did not use them. The room was tired and the bedroom door would not shut without a great deal of effort. The greeting on arrival was brusk. The room was clean but tired acceptable if cheaper. Not what I would have expected for the price .
Pros: The service, the room, the staff and the food
Cons: Lack of official car arking facilities. No lift
Pros: Restaurant very good; chef working with raw ingredients and seasoning properly. I would never risk ordering a thai green curry in a pub, but I did and it was excellent- succulent, generous chunks of monkfish, yummy (not overcooked and reheated). Respect and compliments to the chef. Breakfast also good, prepared promptly, to order and as requested.
Cons: - Room was no frills: getting ready for a wedding in such a small space was challenging; no desk, no table, just a stool. - Double bed- I asked politely after arrival if any other rooms had a king bed, the response I received was as though such things didn’t exist. - We asked for a fan (twice) and eventually received some dusty tube which did little except make a monstrous racket. - TV was tiny and ancient (1st gen flatscreen?)
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Room had damp smell, bedside light didnt work, hot water had to run for a while and only lukewarm
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. Supper was very nice and there were plenty of staff providing good service in the restaurant. Right in the centre of town.
Cons: Our room was extremely small. There was nowhere to put an open case. Likewise the bathroom was tiny with no surface to put down a washing bag. Breakfast was adequate but no fresh fruit. Most things had to be asked for extra, like getting a serviette or some butter for the toast. The breakfast table ought to be laid with everything ready. The buffet consisted of just four cereals, no cheese or ham or anything else. Generally disappointing. The young gentleman on duty was responsible for everything, serving and cooking the hot breakfast, bill settling up. This isn't really good enough.
When you stay at Burnett Arms Hotel in Banchory, you'll be 5 minutes by car from Crathes Castle and Gardens. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Easy to find, with large car park at the back. Clean and convenient.
Cons: It was noisy on Saturday night. The hotel in on the high street, but it has not double glazing, Could not sleep until 1pm.
Cons: Room was terrible. Single glazed windows one with a crack down the middle. Room was freezing. Bathroom mouldy and the whole place just run down. Staff poorly train in customer service.
Pros: Hotel was central, rooms spacious and beds comfy. Breakfast there were a variety of good choices and the hotel was clean. Camp bed provides for our daughter in our room.
Cons: Some noise from the high street late at night but not lots.
Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: The room was above the bar constant noise until 2 o’clock in the morning The group played till 12 o’clock therefore as a business person needing an early start this hotel was absolutely useless and to take £90 per night from somebody was an absolute disgrace .the room standard was poor but clean.Who do I contact to get some sort of recompense This hotel needs to decide whether it is a Hotel or a Music Venue .
Pros: Room was spacious, including the bathroom, and there was plenty storage space. Staff were friendly and helpful On site parking Central
Cons: Minor things like, the television not working properly. Staff did attempt to fix it,but unsuccessfully. A couple of cosmetic issues. Not enough selection for vegetarians on the menu. A flat fee of £8 for breakfast regardless of what you have. Larger cups in the rooms for tea and coffee would be better
Pros: Lovely hotel. Dog was made most welcome. Room was very clean and tidy. Room was cleaned nicely everyday by the time I returned. Everything worked as it should. The shower was very clean, best I've came across. Breakfast, served really quickly and staff couldn't have been anymore helpful. Only ordered from the bar one night and the meal was really nice, allowed to take up to my room.
Cons: Nothing cames to mind.
Pros: Location great for our needs
Cons: Housekeeping Staff seemed to be under pressure so room servicing could have been better
Pros: The bar and situation was good
Cons: The superior double room was disappointing the bathroom just had a bath and overhead shower and no robes and decor a little tired not like the photos on line at all
Pros: The hotel is very central in the middle of the city. Typical hotel, as you would expect. Room very clean and comfortable, great heating, just after a rainy day to dry his things. Nice bar and restaurant. Friendly staff.
Pros: Breakfast was good but coffee cold, had to ask for extras, not attentive staff. Outside hotel very noisy with revellers at night. Otherwise reasonable hotel and comfortable.
