The Swan is well located although the staff doesn't speak a lot of English. It has a nice pool and the larger rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. Be sure you are okay with a smaller room if that is what you book- look at the photos carefully.
I had some issues with my booking as I'd initially booked a single room which I would not recommend even as a solo traveler. Prior to arriving I'd tried to arrange a upgrade that had been offered through booking.com but never heard back from the Swan definitively. When I got there I was surprised and unhappy with the single room (small, didn't feel clean or inviting) and asked the desk to upgrade as I'd initially asked via email (or I was thinking of leaving) I was told it would be 500 bht to upgrade (which I thought we'd clarified was for my whole stay not per night) so I stayed. When I went to check out the night before was leaving I found they wound up charging me this per day, including one night I'd paid for so I could arrive early and get into my room but did not sleep in as my flight arrived at 6am and check in was in the afternoon). I really wanted to LOVE the Swan but after trying to work this out with a number of their staff left feeling I was over charged. So, while I liked this hotel, location and ultimately was happy with my room (simple but clean and nice) I did not have a good experience with the staff and was not able to successfully work this out (even to get them to refund this charge for the night I was not in the room :(. ). When I tried to work it out in the morning, the person who could help me was not in before I needed to leave. I left a note on my charges objecting to what felt like overcharges. Not a good end to an otherwise pleasant stay.
Quiet and charismatic. Nice pool. Good location- next to the pier.
Not very good service. My bag was not even carried by the room boy...
Quite old, but nice hotel! Great location, easy to find.
Great air conditioning, comfortable firm mattress, fresh clean swimming pool and great location. Room included a mini fridge and was stocked with some nice snacks, juices and beers. Thanks so much for having us.
Good quiet location near French consulate. Pool is a bonus. Rooms are simple but clean. Excellent value.
