Pros: Fantastic host, been travelling with 3 little terriers and was made feel welcome!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff- we showed up past the check in hour and they made sure we were able to get our key and to our room without any issues. Beautiful room, very clean, with doors out onto the lovely shared terrace, comfortable beds, new bathroom, lovely outdoor seating - we just loved everything about it. Breakfast was filling, if only maybe a bit steep at 8€. We were so happy they allowed dogs and set up an outdoor table for us in the morning so he could be with us. The property was easy to find in the town although our maps did lead us to the wrong village at first. All around lovely spot, would definitely recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was so pretty. My room was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very good. The staff were very friendly. There was free parking Breakfast was excellent, really good fruit and excellent cheese. Coffee very good too, it was all good. Dégustation and cave was very good. Staff really nice and friendly, knowledgable and attentive . Bought 18 bottles, great stuff.
Cons: Nothing really. If someone was really picky they might say some of the decor was not modern but I like that. Homely.

Pros: The hotel itself is charming , covered in flowers and very picturesque. Breakfast was very good with home-made jams. The restaurant was not part of the hotel but close by and excellent.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel looked beautiful with the balcony window box flower display. We were greeted very warmly by our hostess who immediately invited us to a wine tasting of the family produced wines which was a very generous treat. Our room was very tastefully decorated and had a clean, modern en-suite bathroom. The breakfast was plentiful with a choice of savoury and sweet locally produced foods. Our hosts booked us into a local restaurant for our evening meal which was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed this stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a real jewel - charm, atmosphere, great room decor, attention, all. Great breakfast too. I wish I could stayed more.
5 Terres Hôtel & Spa - Mgallery - Barr - Bedroom
3
9.2 Excellent (2,499 reviews)
C$ 275+
Overview Reviews
Located at the heart of the vineyards of Alsace on the famous Wine Route, the 5 Terres Hôtel & Spa MGallery by Sofitel hotel has brought the 17th-century building back to life by blending old-fashioned charm and techniques with modern and contemporary com fort and elegance. Take a moment to relax in one our 27 carefully decorated rooms and discover famous regional wines in our Wine Bar or as you relax in our Spa.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The spa area was free for guests. The pool and sauna were AMAZING! Beautiful, unique, spotlessly clean. Towels and fresh water available. We had just been to a hotel that nickeled and dimed us to death. $ for the spa, $ for the in-room coffee, robes, towels...after that experience, 5 Terres was a delight. Also, the breakfast at 5 Terres was truly the best I have ever experienced at a hotel. 7 types of bread and pastries, 6 different meats, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, fresh fruit cups, yogurt, dried fruit, fresh squeezed juice, 6 different fabulous cheeses, tomatoes, all the coffee you wanted...it was top notch in every way. I paid 30 euros for a pitiful breakfast at another hotel just a few days before. They gave us 1/2 slice of ham, 1 piece of cheese, 1 bread and 1 coffee. And it was NOT given with a smile. At 5 Terres all of the employees were super friendly and always had a smile. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Cons: We wanted to sit out on the terrace and have a bottle of our own wine but were told it would be a 30 euro corking fee. Otherwise we could enjoy the wine in our room. Our room was not the ambiance I was looking for on a lovely May evening in Alsace.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great facilities and really nice breakfast. Professional staff. Parking.
Cons: A bit expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room with a precious terrace and a very big bathroom Staff was super friendly and really welcoming, they gave us many suggestions regarding restaurants, activities and places to visit The SPA is not that big but it is Great for some relax Parking free and easy to reach
Cons: We would only have changed the lighting of the bathroom: it is automatic, and it means kind of a waste of energy during the day and far too strong during the night. All the rest was perfect and above expectations though
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel and spa (industrial chic), extra comfy room/ bed, very polite, attentive and helpful staff.
Cons: The restaurant is closed on Saturday (lunch time) and Sunday (all day).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Super quiet, lovely town with fewer tourists and lots of locals. The hotel staff were incredible. Maybe my favorite stay ever!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool was awesome, breakfast was fantastic, staff was incredible, building was impressively reimagined as hotel. Highly recommend!
Cons: No mirror over the sink in our room but that is a minor nit (they were preserving the historical structure and mounted it on side next to sink)..
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I loved the comfortable seating and space in the public area for drinks.
Cons: The spa was really okay, nothing exceptional. I also liked the shower in the room but did miss a place to soaps.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved everything about this Hotel! Beautiful modern Hotel in an old historic building. The interior designer did a great job! Wonderful reception and restaurant staff! So friendly and helpful with everything. We highly recommend this fantastic place and will definitely come back!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very modern. Lovely mix of old and new. Great food. Beautiful spa. Everyone was more than helpful. Very quiet.Tasteful decorations for Christmas and thoughtful Little Gifts. Location Central and in walking distance of Restaurants and shops.
Cons: It took some time to figure out the appliances. They were very modern und of Quality but an explanation how to use them would have been helpful. Even so the lightning in the room was tasteful, it was sometimes not enough to light up the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Just perfect !

Pros: We loved this hotel, the rooms were generously proportioned, the bed was really comfortable and we got a welcome Easter egg bag which was very sweet! Highly recommended
Cons: We didn’t realise that breakfast wasn’t included and were shocked to find it was €20pp p/d! It’s a great spread - but check the fine print!

Pros: Pretty secluded location in the middle of town. The hotel has great facilities, beautiful garden, nice rooms and great beds. The restaurant is supposed to be very good too, but I failed to make a reservation and it was fully booked so we'll have to try that on the next trip.

Pros: The host was very nice, prepared breakfast each morning and stayed late until I've arrived, after midnight. Overall, the stay was super nice, the room very clean.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great room in a century old historic building which was beautifully renovated by the owner. Great warm host prepared awesome breakfasts and gave lots of recommendations for locations in the area. Downtown Strasbourg either 15 min by car, or 30 min by nearby tram.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a perfect stay! Very good breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was beautifully furnished & decorated, the bathroom large & modern. The owners very welcoming & we had a glass of wine in the courtyard on our arrival.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner Laurence made our stay really special, she went over & beyond with kindness & service. Very clean, fresh sheets, fresh smelling towels!! Owner & daughter both spoke some English which was fantastic! Fresh baked goods daily for breakfast, if you prefer croissants in place of stick bread that can need only to ask, here they aim to please!! Offered to drive us to the hairdresser (tho we walked, wasn't far) & made the apt. for us to get our hair done. We came to stay 6 days in an affordable place & ended up making special new friends. Weren't planning on returning before we stayed here but will be back for sure!!
Cons: Some plants or flowers in the outside seating area.. would make it so much cozier out there :) Bathroom door needs trimmed in downstairs bath as it scrapes the floor when you open or close it. Otherwise.. No complaints!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: First of all, the owner, this really nice lady herself, who’s heartwarming, funny, open-minded, talkative(but not annoying at all) and very tentative, already made the stay special. We enjoyed our small talks with her at breakfasts, feeling like spending time with a new friend, like staying at home. She always checked with us when we’d like to have breakfast on the next morning and then showed up there every morning, making sure we had everything we needed. There’s a decent choice of breakfast for a small guesthouse, different kinds of cheese, marmalades and breads (sweet and salty). You can pull your hot tee/coffee or grab a cold drink from the fridge anytime you like, like at home:) Oh and we got fresh towels everyday, thanks to the lovely lady. The house speaks for itself, authentic, romantic, well balanced rustic charm and mordern living comfort, with many tasteful decorative details. The location is not only perfect for visiting Strasbourg (20 mins by tram, the station 5 mins walk from the house, the ticket is quite cheap), but also if you wanna take a ride on the famous “Wine Street” and visit those lovely wine villages, just ask the hostess, she’d be happy to offer you insider tips.:) You have everything you need in walking distance here. Last but not the least, you can park your car safely for free in the yard, which normally costs 10 euros or even more per day in the city! All in all, we enjoyed our stay so much here and wanna thank you again for your hospitality and the heartwarming “surprise” for us in the end(it was delicious :)) Schöne Grüße aus Düsseldorf

Pros: Very nice perhaps a bit more privacy between tables Staff is very nice, accurate Perhaps a bit more supporting to use the showcooking and let people order About breakfast but diner was splendid
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was absolutely amazing and staff was really nice... The quality of the rooms may vary according to budget. We booked two rooms because we were travelling with our children, which made the stay a little bit expensive...
Cons: The furniture in the rooms looks a little bit old... but at the same time comfort is guaranteed so at the end we enjoyed our stay. The swimming pools areas are very quiet so it's hard to relax a while with kids.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This a great modern hotel with fancy rooms, restaurant, pool, and spa. We loved our night there, just too short period.
Cons: It's not for a quick stop during driving. Due to traffic we arrived late, and the pool was already closed. Considering the high price we would expect 24h pool, or at least till night not closing at 8PM. We booked it just because of the pool and spa. Only the "fancy" expensive restaurant was open, therefore even more money on the bill. We would have preferred to eat in the "basic" restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfiest bed we’ve ever slept on. Friendly staff. Fairytale building. Lovely town. Indoor pool better than the best spa in the UK.
Cons: There were some building works going on and as next to outdoor pool didn’t use it, but it was too cold to swim outside anyway, so swam in the indoor pool which was AMAZING!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with great amenities and walking distance to downtown Obernai. Staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, room is spacious and spa area is lovely.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in town; excellent service throughout
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice location, at walking distance from the village. Nice swimming pools, nice dinner. Nice room and very clean.
Cons: We did not take breakfast, I think the price is a bit exaggerated. The receptionist who welcomed us was very helpful and kind, also with the luggage, but the one who was there when we came to pick up our luggage after having lunch in town did not bother to help us and left us carrying the luggage ourselves. She was not very kind, nor very polite. Did not really fit in the nice hotel. She made us feel that we were a nuisance to her.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing selection of food for breakfast. Very accommodating staff that were very helpful even though our French is very poor. Everything was very accessible. The outdoor pool was beautiful. Our family room was very spacious and good value for money. The evening meal was delicious. We only stopped for one evening en-route from Italy but it felt like a very good rest and refresh in such a short time. We plan to come back. The only negative is that in the evening there is only the A La Carte restaurant and as a family with two children more food options would be much appreciated. There is a new spa building going up so perhaps this may give more eating variety in the evening.
Cons: See above.

Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: They let us stayed in Hotel Le Colombier since this Le Pavillon 7 is annex of that hotel. Breakfast, fantastic. Services, fantastic. The room rate, fantastic. And staffs, fantastic. First of all, location is very nice. In the city center of Obernai, but just one street back of main square so even in the night it is not noisy. Staffs were all friendly and hostage. We had problem with air conditioner, and it was not fixed in first night. But they changed our room with upgraded room. Also even before we stayed, they had good suggestions to us. Everything was perfect. This is the hotel service we prefer.
Cons: Fortunately, we could stay in two rooms. First room was nice room but had a problem with air conditioner. In the bath room they had bath tub and toilet was different. Second room, we had been upgraded the room. But shower room was honestly down graded... no bath tub, shower room not blocked. It was really clean, and we had no problem to use. But only it was the thing we missed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, size of room and it was clean
Cons: No proper shower and a bit cold even with heating on.
7.9 Good
Pros: Perfect place. Renovated and clean. Wonderful breakfast.
Cons: No internet in the room. Heating was also not working and we all got ill … No real door for the WC … it was as a part of the room. Too expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right in the centre of Obernai Pavillon 7 is a great place to stay. Comfortable and air conditioned our attic room, though not large, had a big bathroom from which we could see the church spire, the bedroom windows looked out to the brick wall next door. Although not a problem for us the room is accessed by two flights of spiral staircase. Our bicycles were secured in the garage of the hotel across the road where we checked in and breakfast is served.
6.7 Good
Cons: the noise and the strong smell in the room

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location helpful staff
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely balcony that overlooked the next towns along the route du vin where we could enjoy the remains of the day. The shower was fabulous with lots of water pressure and steady temperature. The beds were comfortable.
Cons: Personal preference really - I prefer rolls of toilet paper rather than the single sheet dispensers but that could be a regional thing as I found many WC in this area had a similar dispenser. Also, it would have been great to have a sink in with the toilet which was in a separate room from the shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This French property is elegant and typically Alsatian in decor. It is located in a very small village among acres of vineyards with fabulous views of the Black Forest Mountains, Germany across the Rhine River in the distance to the east and is near the Alsace Vosges Mountains located along the Route des Vins by the hotel. The hotel dining room is excellent (food and service) and is located across the tiny village street from the hotel building. Everything about this hotel and restaurant is perfection. It is probably one of the most special properties, where I have had the privilege to stay and dine. All the staff are attentive and friendly. Tanya was truly wonderful to me when I arrived at nearly closing time after a long day of travel by plane and a 2.5 hour drive to Itterswiller by car from Frankfurt. Her help and kindness made the difference after a stressful day and was a perfect beginning to a lovely stay at the Arnold.
Cons: No complaints
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel in a lovely location where one can see the vineyards surroundings. The staff is very helpful and available to answer our questions. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The spa facilities are very good (for additional price but to be only paid once). Possibility to rent bikes from the hotel (we used this opportunity).
Cons: very tiny comment... the breakfast could have been served to a slightly later timing on week end (10.30?)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, how beautiful and quality of the hotel. Superb location.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: The room in old fashion with a different style and a bit cold.

Cons: There was no air conditioning in our bedroom. There were no coffee making facilities in our bedroom. There was no a separate shower in our room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room with a large bathroom. Nice SPA facilities, good breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We love the situation of the Hotel beautiful views, we had eaten twice at the restaurant in previous years and decided it would be a good place for a 2 night stopover We had requested a balcony but got a ground floor room with a patio overlooking the vine yards we were a little disappointed at first but the room was very quite and traditionally furnished with a spacious shower room The first night we slept so well we missed breakfast We had dinner in the restaurant good choices on the menu and very good wine, be aware the food is hearty A good selection at breakfast but could be displayed better as I missed the blueberries at first A very good stay
Cons: The shower had no screen or curtain a impossible to shower without the floor getting wet WiFi a bit intermittent
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely decoration
Cons: Bathroom nice and warm. Bedroom a bit fresh.

Pros: We liked the excellent central location. The stuff was nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet was generous, good selection of cheese and breads, and very tasty. The room was clean, warm (it’s winter now so it’s a good thing) and comfortable. They have their own parking nearby (one needs to pay extra). The village was quite full so it’s good they had parking. We slept well and enjoyed staying in this hotel.
Cons: Small things as majority was very good. The charge for their pwn parking is a bit high (10€). The toilet in the room is separate from the bathroom which is a good thing but it lacks its own sink. It would be good if they gave separate body soap and shampoo and conditioner instead of one soap in the shower which is supposed to do all three. (They give one solid hand soap)

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very pretty village and hotel building. Superb views of vineyards from restaurant/bar terrace. A wonderful place to sit and enjoy the setting sun with a glass of something local. Restaurant menu varied, using local products and very tasty; very good value set menus. Good location for visiting local area. Other eating options within walking distance. We would certainly stay here again, but may be book a room with a view.
Cons: Room perfectly clean, spacious and very comfortable but only overlooked a back wall/yard, so not the best outlook; hotel had tried to jazz it up with a bistro table and chair set to look at, ie not accessible, but we only expected to sleep there so not an issue.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel communicated effectively to tell me the after-hours code. They have plenty of parking. Rooms were very clean. The view out our room was amazing. Restaurant was hopping when we got there despite the kitchen being closed for at least 30 minutes. I did ask about getting food and was initially told no, but she offered me salad and cheese (which was what I wanted anyhow) they made that after-hours and brought it up to the room free of charge. Excellent service all around. We were pleased with our stay here. Thick old walls made our stay very quiet.
Cons: No elevator here, so that may be an issue for some guests, it was fine for us.

Pros: Perfect location, easy check in and out, staff very accommodating, would recommend.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is great, beware the village is very tiny!
Cons: The hotel is not a 4 star as claimed. Very disappointing especially compared to the Le Colombier in Colmar where we stayed a night before. Quite dated and not in a charming way. The air-conditioner does not produce cold air and works more like a fan which is a great pity when it’s +38 outside.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: It wasn’t clear that breakfast wasn’t included and it wasn’t mentioned at check-in. However, the hotel was such a good value that we weren’t overly upset about having to pay for breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, fantastic.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I did bring my dog. Thge room was prepared for him as well inclding a dog snack. Furthermore I received an upgrade to a higher standard room.

Pros: Everything! Beautiful location in the very heart of a romantic Alsacian small town, newly refurbished hotel with top notch facilities, delicious breakfast, comfortable mattress, luxury linen, Nuxe bath products, individual Nespresso coffee machine. The hotel is dog friendly, there are plenty of parking spots around, a nice spa, efficient internet, etc. Really good value for money (with some exclusive deals on the hotel website). The communication with the hotel was also efficient.

Pros: The bed was confortable, and we got an executive room, very nice and spacious. The bathroom was also big and clean. This was our second time at this hotel. We had liked it the first time, but this time round it was even better with the bigger room. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Plastic cups for coffee. It would be better to have reusable porcelain cups instead, so to be more environmental friendly.

Pros: Quick and easy check in.
Cons: Still holding my 150 euro deposit 5 days later.
6.7 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly but only 1-2 of them could speak english. The breakfasts were good.
Cons: The room was very noisy, above a busy street which had traffic the whole night long. Even with windows closed was still noisy. Also no garden or roof terrase or children playroom or any place to be other then the room- doesn't fit so good for children. The hotel gives a feeling of an airport hotel, no life or decoration, very basic. The hotel restaurant which according to the website supposed to offer lunch and dinner was closed during our whole stay, reason unclear.

7.5 Good
Pros: Location And the facility in the hotel.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The staff is friendly and the hotel looks amazing from the outside. Well located and easily accessible by car.
Cons: Not a 5 stars Spa hotel at all. Spa area is not of a 4 stars hotel, let alone 5 stars: swimming pool smaller as in pics, jacuzzi small, and full of kids playing, sauna small, no drinks, no Spa personnel, it looks like low cost furniture ... no relaxing at all. Garden view means: parking view. No coffee maker in room (only instant coffee). No concierge. We looked for a relaxing weekend and we failed miserably. At checkout no chance to give feedback. Value for money: very poor.

Pros: The hotel entrance and restaurant are on a very traditional main building, but most of the rooms are on a new and modern building which includes a great SPA. Rooms are big and comfortable.

Pros: Very nice hotel Is you are looking to travel around the Alsace region. The family room was quite comfortable for us with 2 children.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit disappointing for us but more with dinner at the restaurant since we found it slow for us with a 3 month old baby. Ordered escargots and was super disappointed on how small they were and the dessert which we needed to order at the beginning took to long after we finished eating and wanted to go to our room with our kids tired and ready for bed.

Pros: Very lucky balmy evening eating on terrace under star filled skies. Food was outstanding and wine probably better.
Cons: Nothing. The hotel seems to have had a real vamp and bedrooms are so much nicer. Breakfast also was more interesting.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A comfortable stop over on the way home.
Cons: Overpriced for what it is. We have stayed in many similar hotels with comparable meals and rooms for a lot less money. The wine list particularly was expensive. We chose a local pinot noir which was fairly basic, served warm until we asked for a cooler, and not good value at €36.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location in the village of Ottrot is stunning and the place is just so friendly. The food was typical of the area ,Alsace, and very good as was the wine. The room was very comfortable with all the facilities you would expect. Lovely generous breakfast

Pros: everything was perfect
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in superb area. Helpful and friendly staff. Brilliant breakfast in lovely designated room. Good room with ample facilities. Ottrott lovely, relaxing grounds and good views. Quality restaurant with lovely food.
Cons: There is nothing to be critical about. If you want me to really critical our room could have have larger picture in room. There are superb pictures throughout the hotel. And that's being really picky!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: So quiet and nicely decorated
Cons: Price does not include breakfast
6.7 Good
Pros: Comfortable and quiet
Cons: Tip: If the Ami Fritz hotel restaurant is closed, DO NOT go to the Hostellerie Chateaux restaurant opposite. It was VERY expensive and poor quality.
