Outstanding restaurant, friendly and competent staff, great location. Very clean room and bathroom
tiny rooms, no decoration, nor air conditioning, no ventilation.
Perfectly situated but still quiet. A lovely, central hotel
The hotel is located centrally in Bietigheim, close to a nice park and the old city center. The breakfast was extensive and well looked after. The room had roll-down shades to make it completely dark. The staff spoke proper English, which is not always the case in Germany.
The room hadn't been cleaned properly, with trash left behind under the bed. Additionally, the room did not have air conditioning making it hot, even with the window opened slightly. Only one thick duvet was provided. The room was quite noise with a larger road close by and a loading dock of some sorts on the ground floor. Unfortunately, I had to keep the window open to cool the room down at night, amplifying the noise.
Very accommodting staff
The hotel staff was very friendly, and had no problem shortening the duration of my stay when my wife was discharged a day early from a local hospital. When I made the reservation, they also upgraded me to a larger room at no extra cost when the ground floor room that I requested was not available. Unfortunately when I arrived, the larger room was not available so we spent the first night in a very small room. They switched my room the next day. The breakfast was a typical buffet with a fairly wide variety. The on-site restaurant looked very nice, although I did not eat there. It was an up-scale restaurant, and looked to be fairly pricy. Dogs were no problem, even at the breakfast (the two German Shepherd Dogs I have are well-behaved). There was a reasonable fee for the dogs.
There was limited free on-site parking (3 spots in front of the hotel on the street, and about 5 spots in a small parking lot on the side of the hotel). The parking lot was reserved for the hotel, but the spots in that lot were small and my Volvo XC90 wouldn't fit. I parked in the on-street parking when I first arrived (a Sunday), but I doubt it would have been available other days as it also served a municipal building. The hotel had a shared parking garage, with about 6 spots reserved for the hotel. I parked there, but wasn't told until check out that there was a 10 euro per night fee. Vehicle access to the garage was via your hotel key card. Pedestrian access to the garage was via a gate that did not lock. While the area seemed safe enough and I didn't have any problems, I wouldn't recommend leaving anything valuable in your car. The rooms were warm (late April/early May), and I had to open the windows at night to keep the temperature comfortable. Unfortunately, there was a lot of street noise at all hours as the room looked out onto a parking garage and some businesses. The hotel had provided ear plugs in addition to the standard complimentary toiletries, so I used the ear plugs. That did help. I seem to remember clicking the box for "request a quiet room" on Booking.com when I made the reservation, but maybe this didn't get transmitted to the hotel. If you want a quiet room, I'd recommend making that request in writing to the hotel.
