Pros: nothing
Cons: First room - none of the wall lights were working - no maintenance on site ( apparently a room that was never used) Second room - hadn't been cleaned / the thinnest duvet ever / only cold air blowing so no heating Food was warmed up frozen meals Was told there is a shuttle to the airport but there wasn't - we had to walk to the bus stop with an 80 year old lady down a mud slip On return found my car had been badly damaged but no security cameras

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, thank you. Free and easy parking for guests. Airport is very easy to reach by bus. Large space in the shower. Comfortable bed. Good pillows. Quiet rooms, also those on the ground floor. Services near hotel with the usual cafés, fastfood and shops.
Cons: Furnitures and bathroom facilities look quite old, but was clean and for the price it was ok.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing good
Cons: Don’t go to this hotel. No toilet paper, rooms are small and dirty. There is no room service in the night if you arrive late. It shows as a hotel with room service.

7.0 Good
Pros: Near the airport.
Cons: Not many choices for food around.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were quick to help
Cons: Pull out bed wasn't the best and had no sheets.
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Room was very nice.
Cons: By public transport it was a bit awkward to get to and by taxi it was ridiculously expensive. I didnt like the fact that it appeared that the front entrance was flanked by laundry bins etc.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: No real blanket. The “blanket” was as thin as a napkin, like blankets in warm countries. It was very cold, I used towels to keep warm. I was too tiered to complain.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Nice staff doing their best.
Cons: Dirty net curtains with cigarette holes in them. Absolutely unforgiveable neglect of basic needs of acceptable decor. Disrespect for customers. Contempt almost.
6.2 Good
Pros: Good location if you have to fly out of Stansted the following morning, girl on front desk very helpful and pleasent.
Cons: No eating facilites, ate in the Ramada next door which was very poor, very much a one night necessity stay hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The kindness of the staff. They gave me warm welcome and farewell, not forgetting to give very useful info in a few words. My room and bed were wider than expected. Very clean. A warm environment with one large radiator. Reception is opened to eat and drink at any time overnight. Very quiet, with only a mild disturbance from the roar of airplane engines.
Cons: The hotel is perfect. Unfortunately, I needed a taxi to arrive at the hotel which is behind a large petrol station. Taxi is expensive (£17 each journey, lasting 10-15 mins). I regret to say that, for £34 more, I am considering to stay at any hotel close to the airport for the next time. Perhaps, renting a car would be a cheaper option than a taxi.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfortable. Shower was good.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building. One of the best hotels I stay in, and I use hotels every week
Cons: Needs better gym equipment Need better seating if you eat in bar
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: Be careful when paying ! I have been charged twice and they have denied a payment being received ! Bank statements don’t lie !!! Unbelievable as they take payment at reception upon arrival (added £50 per head for room service or bar) and the balance for food etc to be paid at check out ! Ongoing saga !!!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff and lovely property. Well kept grounds and dog friendly. Excellent food for dinner and breakfast.
Cons: Reception being renovated so computers and printers slow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The dinner was amazing and so was the Espresso Martini that we had as pre-dinner drink.
Cons: I don't think there is anything that i could find fault with during our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Annual visit for work and always the same high standard.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is close to Stanstead airport, but in a quiet location. Used the hotel after Friday evening flight was cancelled and I had to stay over until another flight was available on the Saturday morning. It allowed maximum time to rest prior to early morning departure.
Cons: Due to early start it was not possible to have breakfast at the hotel, but as it was booked via booking.com it was not possible to revide booking to room only!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room Setting Coffee Breakfast
Cons: Miscommunication between the hotel and Kayak leading to confusion about the fee. Same but between the restaurant and reception leading to confusion about whether I had paid for breakfast or not

Pros: Large clean room and bathroom. Beautiful grounds. Our room had French doors looking out at a lovely green space. The restaurant was very nice. The food and service were both excellent. My husband had a huge, beautifully cooked, hamburger. Breakfast was very good as well. We were on our way out of the country and it was a relaxing break in traveling. All the staff was friendly and helpful. would stay again!
5.0 Okay
Pros: We have stayed here before and like the location and layout of the Hotel.
Cons: We paid for a superior double room with an extra large double bed. However in room 2 of the stable block is just a standard double bed. The pillows were also very uncomfortable to lay on as were fairly hard. We have stayed in the outside rooms of the stable block before and had a perfect stay however this time it was not so great unfortunately. The room was also pretty small which did not seem right when paying for a superior room. When checking in there was only one member of staff on reception who was also working in the restaurant and therefore had to phone the hotel in order to get checked in. I did try to phone reception once I saw the room however after trying several times I could not get through.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! Close to the airport and very convenient. Staff very friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place. The room was warm, comfortable. It was no problem with a warm water, big shower room, comfortable bed, The hostess is very friendly, left different things to eat:porridge, noodles, cakes (for 1 £) that was very useful as there aren’t any bars and restaurants. Especially this place is nice in springtime and summertime. A cute cat met us and followed to reception. We spent there two nights. But to get to London you need transfer (7£) and bus (7-9 £) or train (19£).
Cons: Nothing to say, only thanks Susan.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: great place. Stayed mid-storm but walls were so thick and heating so good had a great sleep. Only issue was finding the location could be better signed
Cons: everything was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tastefully decorated, with lots of amenities, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean accommodation, pretty luxury. Super close to airport - getting there and back was a breeze. Friendly owner, warm shower, comfy beds
Cons: Some vegan breakfast porridge pots would be great. Also some of the food stuff was out of date and the internet was broken when we stayed (quite an important thing when travelling and don’t have SIM cards for England).
4.0 Okay
Pros: Staff - great people. And they gave me a ride to the airport (paid). They did their best to chnge us the room.
Cons: They have pets (big dogs) and the smell is everywhere. Despite we've been confirmed a queen size bed, we had to change the room for a 2 beds one because of the stong smell. It was a crazy windy day and the door was not closing properly, so really cold despite the heating was on.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was in a great location to Stansted. Nice touch to have food and drink items to purchase in the room. Beds comfortable. Clean and tidy. Su was really helpful and was on hand for all of my questions.
Cons: Everything was great, but it was really cold when we arrived so it took a while to heat up the room. Cosy once we had put heating on for a while though. In winter, maybe put heating on before guests arrive to take the edge off.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very near to Stansted Airport. No aircraft noise and quiet location. Continental breakfast more than adequate.
Cons: Unfortunately there was a water main burst in close proximatey to The Willows which had the obvious outcome - no water!! (Not the fault of the owners!)
7.3 Good
Pros: People are very friendly and nice, the room is warmly decorated and very neat and tidy. The bathroom is nice too, it has a good shower.
Cons: they only make transfers from the guest house to the stansted airport, but not the other way round, so it costs about 7 pounds to get from stansted airport to there.

Pros: A little sanctuary close to the airport. Attention to detail...

Pros: Everything was provided - hairdryer, iron etc. Location was peaceful.
Cons: We arrived late in the evening and it was difficult to see the hotel sign from the road in the dark (we drove past it twice).Could have done with the sign illuminated. Neighbours friendly and directed us.
8.0 Excellent

Cons:
7.6 Good
Pros: We used The Willows for overnight accommodation before a flight from Stansted. Despite the proximity to the airport it was very peaceful. The surroundings were beautifully kept with attractive floral displays enhancing the thatched cottage. Transport to and from the airport plus storage of our car were efficient.

6.8 Good
Pros: Lovely location and pub. Good evening meal. Welcoming staff with new manager/owner who had only been there for three days! Once management is settled it will be more comfortable for a B&B stay.
Cons: Rooms need upgrading. No chairs. As there was a new owner, the chef facilities for breakfast had not been organised, so we were given a basic cereal and fruit breakfast with croissant, the previous evening.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was spotlessly clean and very good value for money. Pretty surroundings.
7.1 Good
Pros: Dog friendly. A lot of tee and coffee bags :) free parking. Close to the airport.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Completely unique place with only four rooms and a huge shared retro kitchen with complimentary food for breakfast and snacks. You can pop in to make any hot drink you wish to make and grab a biscuit or chocolate as often as you wish, Rooms are very comfortable and no expensive spared on the decor. Highly recommended. The Thatchers Inn pub is 20 mins walk and the staff were really friendly. The food was fantastic too.
Cons: Towels could be replaced with larger newer ones. Temperature gauge in the Drop Head Coupe was not adjustable. I found it perfect but my partner found it too hot. These are the minor adjustments that would have made the accommodation perfect but it was the closest you’ll get to most places you stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host, Melvyn is a lovely man - we had a nice chat and I was made to feel very welcome The place is not only so different and whilst it has a car theme it is not 'gimmicky' it is really tasteful and absolutely spotless. You would never know it is 10 years old. I stayed in the 'smallest' room (generous double) and I cannot begin to describe the bathroom but it was just gorgeous. Breakfast is a huge 50's style kitchen where you help yourself and there is everything available. I sat there with my breakfast and laptop, felt so at home, didnt want to go to work!
Cons: Completely loved everything! This review has an American flag by my name but I live in UK

Pros: Melvyn greeted me and spent time showing me around - it is fantastic!. We loved the 'diner' based on Ace Cafe - loved the details, great that we could help ourselves to breakfast - loved the flexibility - the fact we could bring our own food and cook. We loved looking around the cars. We will be back to try out another room and hire a car for the day. It was perfect!
Cons: There is nothing we didn't like about our stay - we had the place to ourselves (which was perfect) but wondered how it might have worked out if it had been full.

Pros: We liked everything at the Pit Stop. Good, off street parking. Very good hosts. Excellent accommodation and very good Breakfast food. The Pit Stop deserves to be included in anyone's holiday itinerary. It is more than a B&B and it is of a very high standard. The American DIner is wonderful and don't let the self service breakfast put you off from staying here Melvyn and Sindy have everything you need in their diner to feed hungry guests. Not only do you get to stay in luxury accommodation for a reasonable cost you also get to look around the beautiful cars stored there. The Pit Stop B&B is near enough London and next to Standsted Airport. Car enthusiasts should make sure to stay here and even if you do not have a passion for cars, like my w

Pros: Pratically everything. We asked for an early check in and they where super willing to help us just for give a call right 30 mins before our arrival (to make sure there is someone to attend). The cleanliness of the room and bathroom is next level, even the moquette that is hard to clean, was spotless and walking barefoot was a nice feeling. Also the way the room and bathroom are furnished is absolutely awesome, loved that there were old wooden doors. Big kettle and a nepresso coffee machine, coming with glasses, ceramic coffee cups, various coffee pods, bottle of water are in the room waiting for welcoming you at the greatest ever, beyond the housekeeper and owners big hospitality and warm greets. Toiletries, shower caps, soap bars and even net sponges, small hair-dryer, tissues at each bed side table are provided in each room, the property is totally furnished of what you need at anytime. Bed sheets are immaculate white, soft and perfumed. Room's windows face to the beautiful garden around the property, there also some empty glass bulb attached to the trees to play a relaxing "white" noise. In room noises are not audible to other rooms, so privacy and good rest are guaranteed. The property has also a great nearness to the airport, only 5 mins to bus stop next to Four Ashes pub and others 5 by foot to reach the B&B. Also I'd mention the price is affordable for the optimal service you'll get. Maybe I forgot something positive to add to the review but it's been so far my favorite place to stay after few months to travel monthly to Takeley.

Pros: Nice greeting - clean rooms and good value for money with good basic food choice.
Cons: Always concern when hotels want all monies up front - hence my card is set to block this process unless I'm in attendance. Breakfast finishes by 08:30am. Pros: Lovely little hotel, staff really friendly.
Cons: Need Extra pillows , Bigger duvet and larger Bath towels. Plus a hand towel each as there was not any and hand wash .
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location was very good. Staff very friendly
Cons: Although I appreciate it was a historic building, it could do with a full upgrade i.e. beds (which were extremely uncomfortable) décor, fixtures and fittings and the bathroom and bedroom could have been cleaner.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location was central to all amenities, newly refurbished bathroom
Cons: Comfort of beds, location of room right on high street, had to have the window open as the room was so hot, so heard every man ads his wife coming home from pubs and clubs. found pubic hairs in the bed.
7.0 Good
Pros: room 6 was a good size room and bathroom, staff friendly, well placed
Cons: could be a bit noisy

Pros: very clean, friendly Staff, good location
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Being able to park, right outside room, not having to access room via the pub. Use of pub wifi for free.
Cons: Water in this area is not very nice , have to use bottled water . NOT THE PUBS FAULT. as the tea/ coffee is not enjoyable
7.0 Good
Pros: It’s not far from the centre of town
Cons: It can be very noisy with the main road outside
9.6 Excellent
Pros: 100 m away from local theatre I was attending, and a minute’s walk into the town centre. Parked right outside room door. Door had number code so no room key or card to remember or lose! Comfy bed, clean, self-contained. Nice and warm, could alter room temperature yourself easily.
Cons: Had to bring own breakfast - ok in cool weather (kept milk in car), but in summer would be difficult without access to a fridge. Plumbing rather noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent and great value for money. Checked in within about 2 minutes and the host Adam was very efficient and nice.
Cons: On a busy road but I knew that when I booked the room so I’m not marking the property score down for that. Though just be aware if you’re a light sleeper.

Pros: The hotel, location, staff, room, toilet/bathroom were all above average.
Cons: Maybe the restaurant was a little expensive and not that varied. That's all really. Everything else good. TV could be bigger and check that the batteries work aswell cause I'm ways getting ones that dont.

10.0 Excellent
Cons: Fantastic hotel and fantastic food. Definitely stay there again
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice greeting - clean rooms and good value for money with good basic food choice.
Cons: Always concern when hotels want all monies up front - hence my card is set to block this process unless I'm in attendance. Breakfast finishes by 08:30am. I came away with a feeling that they had done me a favour by letting me stay there - perhaps they thought I was a dodgy credit card holder :o)
