Delicious big breakfast, the most comfy bed ever, perfect location for the train ride, SO clean!
The position of the Inn was ideal. Most of the other guests were planning to take the train ride and it was only a 3 minute walk to get to the station. The bed was supremely comfortable. There was the freedom to make hot drinks whenever you wished. There was the offer to use a refrigerator for anything you needed to keep in there. There was good information about restaurants and things to do. The breakfast ladies were keen to make sure you had everything you wanted. I rarely write a negative report so have done so this time with sadness. I must point out, however, that some of the guests had stayed there before and loved it.
The manager met us but I felt that he was going through the motions and not really enthusiastic about our being there. Our room was supposed to have a dining area but there wasn't, neither was there a claw foot bath nor a four poster bed. We paid over £200 per night. There was very little light in the room which was gloomy because the blind behind the bed was fixed down throughout the day and there was no outlook and the main overhead light was very dim. There was no point discussing this because the manager made it plain that the other rooms were all occupied. The walls were paper thin so we could hear when people used the bathroom and snored or coughed. We were woken early each morning because the breakfast room was next to us and the staff needed to get things ready in there early. We were asked each morning if we wanted our rooms done. I asked for the bed to be made the first time but hadn't realised I had to repeat this each morning in the hearing of other guests.
Great feel of home and comfort
A little over priced
This place was excellent! We truly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were all so sweet and welcoming and made our visit so wonderful. We will be back for sure!
