Best location for visiting the university of Colorado, great staff
Hotel stuck in the 90s, no amenities and doesn’t house clean everyday, only every week. That being said, you can’t beat the price and it’s good enough for a stay.
Very rude staff. Everyone at “breakfast” complaining about it !
I was pleasantly surprised. My room had a good bed, a great tv, a really nice large size with a view of the backyard and the Boulder Creek, and a comfortable big old chair and ottoman. This is the last stand for this hotel, built with hoopla in the 60's with a tennis center and @250 rooms. Now it sits on 27 acres of prime real estate right in the middle of Boulder. There is a proposal pending to demolish the hotel and built around the same number of units geared to University of CO students next door. The hotel is simply worth more now dead than alive. Some interesting artifacts in the hotel like an old shoe shine station. I would stay there again. The price/value was the best in Boulder this week. (The pool and and food and beverage operations were closed when I was there. The value is in a good place to sleep at a great location while it lasts.
Housekeeping walked in at 8am without knocking while we were undressed. Checkout isn't until 11am so not sure why this happened? This embarrassing moment was uncalled for. In addition, shower drain was plugged up, shower handle kept falling off, shower curtain was on backwards, restaurant is still closed and hotel not serving any breakfast when all other hotels are. Front desk was notified but did nothing about it.
Absolutely disgusting building and extremely dated everything. No room cleaning on short stays, long wait to check in and expensive for the poor experience that it was. Would NOT recommend or stay here ever again! It should be condemned.
Pros. The rooms were nicely decorated and it was central to a lot of major locations.
Cons. -The shower has only one temperature: you get what you get. I didn’t appreciate being scalded and frozen much. -Front desk staff wasnt that helpful when it came to resources in the area, but was responsive when asking for extra pillows/towels/etc. -There was some in and out traffic by our room that involved some pretty questionable people. Came out of the elevator with my young children to a man laying on the floor with all his possessions from his coat and pockets spread out around him... seemed to be on something. Made my kids really nervous. Front desk staff was responsive and said they would send security but the man left fairly quickly so there was no resolution or follow up. Definitely not the most comfortable situation. -The online rate I paid was appropriate for what we got. The hotel was a bit outdated, the pool was really nice, everything outside and the restaurant was shut down with no options on site for getting snacks or toiletries. It’s good for a quick one-night stay but I wouldn’t recommend for an extensive visit.
Pros. Staff were great and very accommodating. Can't beat the location
Cons. Room we were given had a toilet that would run for hours and it looked out at the best and ac unit for the whole building which we would hear throughout the night. Still a killer deal for being able to walk to and from the colder Boulder and avoid all the race traffic
Cons. Location is fabulous, but this hotel needs a lot of care and updating. Only 1 elevator of 3 worked. Everything looks really tired and worn out.
Pros. Great price and the furniture looked new!
Cons. I didn’t like the fact that when I arrived they told me I would have to downgrade my room since I had a service dog. As a veteran, I’m constantly reminded of the reason I have the dog and I didn’t need someone bringing it to the forefront and denying me what I paid for. I asked her to speak to a manager and the manager gave her the ok. Sadly, the manager never came out of the office and apologized for what happened. I get it, people bring fake service dogs with them and it causes you grief. But don’t assume all of us are fakes. It’s insulting and it’s hurtful.
