This was my first trip with Alaska Airlines (round trip DCA to San Diego). Despite a slight delay on the return flight, I feel compelled to post a RAVE review! I cannot praise the airline and the crew enough! Everyone was kind, professional, and courteous, every step of the way- excellent service, snacks, and entertainment! On both legs of the trip I inquired whether there were any free seating upgrades and my request were granted BOTH times! I’ve flown on other airlines where they won’t do that, even when those premium seats are empty. As a customer service professional myself, I can say I left my experience feeling like a valued customer and not just a number. I NEVER expected to praise an airline lol I’ll definitely go out of my way to fly with Alaska on future trips. Thank you for such an awesome experience!
There was plenty if room for my carry-on in above-seat bins, but they made me gate-check it on both flights!
I enjoyed the feet space in comparison to other airlines. The snacks were also better, great service and the pilot greeted and said hi which made me feel safer.
Our flight when we finally got rerouted to a different destination than we were going was fine. But 2 days was taken out of our vacation because our flit was cancelled. We understand mechanical problems and of course don’t want to be on a plane that has mechanical problems.Wish there had been another solution.
Well the seats were very tight but the plane was very clean, the attendance great and good entertainment. Maybe they had it, but I wanted a map on the app. Thanks
in-flight wifi was not working well. also the cabin temperature was a bit hot.
Morbidly obese dude took half my seat. Sore shoulders back from being squeezed. Shame on the airline for not making this guy purchase two seats
Plane was clean, staff was professional and flight was on time. No built in tv was still ok, as programs were offered that could synch to smart phones.
Flight was cancelled last minute, had to change and buy another ticket to united airlines, made it 10 minutes late to my international flight and couldn’t get any reimbursement what so ever due to “Weather”, yet all other airlines except south west were running Just fine. Every single time I fly Alaska, it’s a huge delay or cancellation. My hope is that more people avoid this airlines all together until they actually improve.
J was in the ER x 3...3 protruding discs...contacted Alaska many many days prior to cancel and request a refund or a credjt.. they only gave me 50 % credit....outrageous seeing how i have a doctors letter....just plain inhuman. AI sucks!
There’s not much to say about a one hour flight. This is a connection from LA to RNO that I missed the previous night due to a mechanical check delay on my originating flight from JFK to LAX. The short flight itself was fine. Instructions from the pilot and crew were per usual. The coffee was barely lukewarm, which possibly was purposeful so we would down it quickly. Bags were already on carousel upon reaching baggage claim, which was excellent.
Flight was warm for first few hours and quite rough
Seat was extremely hard which made even a short 1 hour 20 minute flight fairly uncomfortable.
Improve boarding- the zone assignment and boarding is always a mess- there is not clear instructions of what is going on at the gate. As a meme bet there is no more selection of a good seats when booking. Only offers middle seats to choose or pay extra. There is not more benefit with Amex no benefits at all.

Everything was good except wifi and a leaking drink chiller. The floor was all wet and my bag was soaked. Did not notice until debarking. Have not heard back from Delta. Even though this was leg one of an international flight in first class, they denied access to their Sky Club - very disappointing!
The staff was fine. The plane was extremely tight, and I paid for the wifi and it did not work at all. I was actually going to ask for a refund.
two hour delay and the Delta representative on the PA system was unable to understand
An awesome flight crew. FC seat cushion just doesn’t cut it for a 3+ hour flight.
2+hrs delay without any reason provided and a cramped flight
We got delayed three hours and nobody thought to have the bathroom fixed while we were sitting waiting to board? took a full hour to have maintenance come and check it off. Had to shut the bathroom down twice so that the pilots could go to the bathroom. Everyone missed their connections.
Women boarding passengers at the gate was absolutely rude and disrespectful of passengers. The flight attendant was absolutely delightful! Smiling and connected with the passengers. So happy. The seats are cramped and uncomfortable but I guess that’s just the way it is Communication regarding flight was excellent
As great a red-eye flight as red-eye flights can be.
Both of my flights arrived early and check in process was smooth

I just think it’s unfortunate that Airlines have completely abandoned the idea of serving any kind of decent or even real food on flights, not even on a four hour flight!? Those days are gone, I guess.
The flight was delayed by two de-icings. The seatbelt did not work correctly. It did not stay tight.
Hotter than Hades in August. Why, why do crews think that in the winter when we are already dressed for cold weather we need a cabin that is 82 degrees. Even the vents were blowing hot air.
Flight was delayed. De-icing took a while. When we landed had to wait for another plane to vacate our gate. Just an overall bad experience.
Not good - outbound flight was delayed and missed my connection even though I got to the gate after running through the airport - the agent would not let me on because the door was closed (flight had not left). There was no notification from United - overall experience was very disappointing. Additionally, I was downgraded from first class to coach on the alternative flight
The window seat on the emergency row was too small. I had a different seat booked and they moved me. My seat remained open. It was very uncomfortable.
Experience was good, the wifi hook up is somewhat tough

I will not be flying with westjet again. I was uncomfortable in my seat. The position made my back hurt so bad. My wife was able to fit the seatbelt around her with out an extension but was unable to put the tray table down or fit in the seat for that matter. Our bag was smashed and I spent two hours trying to fill out the application for a damaged bag before I gave up. The 80 photos I took would not work and nothing telling me the format to upload them as.. I made the mistake of unpacking the bag before taking photos so no claim for me. Next trip to Canada I will have to use air Canada.
Overall good experience. The wait for baggage at our destination was quite long, but other than that everything was good as expected
Airplane is too small. Crew, especially the flight attendant who looked after our area, was not at all friendly and a touch authoratative. She may have been the most gruff flight attendant i've come across in 40 years of business travel
I selected "carry-on" for a round trip on Kayak, but my return flight on WestJet did not include a carry-on and they would not allow me to add one. My only option was to add a "checked bag" which I had to wait for on the luggage carousel after landing. Not a good experience.
I was seated near a "stinky" person. That's not the fault of Westjet🙁😶🌫️
Do not fly on WestJet if you have a connection. It failed to integrate with my connecting Delta flight and I almost missed it.
There was a man who was very rude at boarding. On the other hand personal bag measuring box is too small compared to USA airlines,
My experience was good with United too But only not so good thing was that at Calgary airport I was not given lounge access despite of flying business. Aspire lounge denied it to me, which was unfair I feel
We left over 2 hours late and they didn't even give us a complimentary snack, when getting to the desk I asked if I could be put in a row with only 1 other person or an empt y one I was told the flight was full when the last two rows were empty. All around over it
they were super helpful. Agents at the desk got me on an earlier flight and I was able to get home several hours earlier.
This is a great non-stop YVR-MIA. Very comfortable plane, and no transfer through a city that gets major winter weather!
Terrible…. Reported missing luggage’s with injectable meds that needed refrigeration. Yet, delivery could not be expedited. Luggage’s were delivered 5 days after arrival. The meds were useless as ice pack had melted. So disappointed!!!
Air Canada’s problems are not staff related by and large, no. The problem is tiny jets between the U.S. and Canada - yes, believe it or not they are still “international” (just ask our own Mango Maniac in power in the U.S.). The little aisle is compounded by a design flaw of a “dog leg” starting at seat 12. Woe be unto you if you sit here as passengers and attendants do not have sufficient room to not hit you in the face with backpacks. One thing I will say very positively about Air Canada is you still provide pillows and blankets on transcontinental flights to all, not just the elites. Your tiny improperly designed jets are also a problem flying city to city within Canada also. One can only say you remind us of a “Jet Blue” or “Spirit” experience. Also your luggage space is downright Byzantine! We will endeavor to avoid you and use other U.S. carriers, albeit charging more.
Terrible canceled flight and lost my luggage. Flew me to Halifax. Tgat flight was delayed, had to spend night in airport chair.
My seat was not comfortable. Flight was smooth. Regretfully we had two delays before takeoff
Amazing service, with enthusiastic crew members, and some breathtaking views of Vancouver. No IFE though, as it is only a 1 hour flight on a regional Turboprop jet.
They are very proactive and made our boarding easy and always notified us about any changes well in advance.
