10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a place. Arnor Stefansson (son of Stefan) owner/manager is awesome. Arnor has tuned a old school into a relaxing hotel destination with eclectic designed rooms overlooking the Icelandic valley. This location is an excellent place to begin a hiking and driving exploration into the mountains. The meals are prepared with loved by Rosa, and it was always more then we could eat. The lamb dinner was superb and I highly recommend it. Arnor has great stories of his hotel experiences in Central America and has returned home to Iceland providing his visitors with a warm, welcoming well rounded experience, great bar area, pool table, hot tub and sauna. Go enjoy. Look out for the reindeer!!
Cons: The weather prevented us from being able to venturing out into the mountains
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff here was very nice the hotel is a bit of a detour but it is nice to Be away from the highway. The food was very good and the use of jacuzzi and sauna onsite was awesome.
Cons: It was advertised to have a gym but it was unavailable at the time we went

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The receptionist although speaks minimal English was very helpful. We checked in an hour later than estimated due to a road closure on highway 1, she didn't make a fuss about us coming in late, was very helpful nevertheless. We requested for early check out the next day and packed small breakfast, she got the breakfast ready on time. Was very accomodative and helpful through our short stay. The hot tub was amazing, exactly what we needed at the end of a long day. The chalet was a decent size and fully equipped. Was a really good option for those traveling from South to north on the ring road and Vise versa. Will definitely recommend to my friends. Great option.
Cons: One of the 2 lights in the chalet was not working, couple power point in the chalet were not working.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was a delight and decorated tastefully in fishing memorabilia. The room was comfortable, clean, quiet and safe, and the owner was very friendly. We talked fishing and he was very helpful with travel and local culture information. Breakfast was excellent and we were offered eggs and bacon, which doesn't seem to be common elsewhere in Iceland. AAA+++
Cons: Nothing
4.6 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: We were made to feel unwelcome as we weren't interested in fishing. The breakfast was truly awful.....we had to clear up the mess left by the fishing visitors before we could eat. Dinner was only available at 10pm after the fishing had finished. The bedroom was tiny.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The lodge's small size allowed it to feel very personal. We were greeted warmly upon arrival, and all our requests were handled quickly and efficiently. Our special request for dinner (sent by e-mail to the owner prior to arrival) was accommodated and we had a wonderful meal. Breakfast was great as well.
Cons: While the prices for accommodation here are high, they are actually about standard for Iceland. Bring your own beer, as their selection is minimal. Dining selections in the vicinity appear to be few and far between, so try to book dinner with the lodge in advance if you can.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic in a beautiful room with trophies on the wall; a unique ambiance.

Pros: Really nice and cosy location in the middle of nowhere. Perfect for couples. Very yummy breakfast included. Drawbacks: no restuarnts nearby, no restaurant at the location, no daily cleaning service (considering the price, it should have been!).

He gave us good advice for good spots all around the area and showed us a good place for northern lights nearby the village. Since we were in March, we had the whole house for our own. Pros: The owner was super friendly and funny. We booked a last minute reservation around 9 Pm and arrived about 11 pm the same night. The owner and his friendly dog were up to greet us and showed us very cute room. We planned to leave at 7 am the next night so didn’t get to use any of the features in the room besides the bed and shower which were both comfortable and nice. We were so tired when we arrived that we lost the key to the room at check out, we searched high and low for the key but no luck. The owner was super friendly about it and was not an issue. If I return I would definitely return to this location for a longer stay.
