Overview

When you are looking to enjoy some of the great sights in America, the Blue Ridge Mountains along with the home of Thomas Jefferson come to mind right away. Charlottesville, VA is a great place to take in both. This small Virginia city is known for being the home of the University of Virginia, and it has a colonial charm to it that many other places have outgrown. Hotels in the area are expected to provide warm service, as if you’re an old friend while the hotels themselves should have comfortable amenities. Fortunately, when booking a room at the English Inn of Charlottesville, that’s exactly what you get.

The English Inn of Charlottesville is located close to all the important sights. The hotel itself has just 106 different rooms and is designed to be reminiscent of a country inn. Everything – down to the décor and the wall treatments – is modern yet evokes a time that isn’t so formal, a time when hospitality was a most important quality. With a kitchenette and full-size refrigerator, you get lots of space to store leftovers.

There are several other amenities in the hotel as well. The pool is perfect for getting some swimming in – if you have kids this is a great way to have them use up their excess energy. Airport transportation helps you get to and from the hotel and the airport without having to rent a car and rush around. You can also start your day off with a great breakfast.

The English Inn of Charlottesville provides a charming setting to enjoy this great American city.

It was a pleasant stay. The character in the lobby was fun and it was nice to have some board game options. Would stay there again.

Cons (-) Facilites looked dated and tired. Could have stayed at a Hampton Inn for less and gotten more. This hotel was obviously built in the 70's because it has the look. Unfortunately they have not kept up with the times. Breakfast in the morning had all the essentials, but nothing more. The servers were extremely accommodating and friendly. Staff was nice and friendly. Fitness center had two treadmills,...
