"The rooms were a little dated." | (in 33 reviews) |
Our room was showing its age with peeling wallpaper, worn carpet and dowdy furniture. Time for a face lift.
Comfy bed. Friendly staff. Good location if you don't feel like staying downtown.
Great Location!
The bed was comfortable.
The room was a little bit small but perfect for just me.
Go Cubbies
Walked to Cubs game! Walked to amenities and dinner, great location!
Old building, but tasteful decor and very clean! We didn't have time to enjoy the cookies or breakfast but overall a good stay! Staff was very nice.
Quaint hidden treasure within walking distance fro
Quaint cute hotel hidden among a nice neighborhood just away from the busyness of Wrigley. We walked to Wrigley stadium 2 xs during our stay. The hotel room was small but clean and comfortable and the prices for the mini bar were a nice surprise!
Our room was really small and the breakfast was a sub par continenta,l but our bathroom was really nice and they had robes and all the hair/body soaps necessary so no need to bring your own.
I would recommend it
It was located in a great area, I had everything I needed. As I was checking out, one of the housekeepers ran all the way down to give me my computer charger!
I thought the cost was a little high for the size of the room, but not big deal.
Great hotel for transition to Chicago home.
I was able to travel to work downtown easily for a new job. It was very convenient to stay here while waiting for my new apartment to be ready. They were able to store my personal items until I could move to the new apartment. The entire staff was very friendly.
Staff, Housekeeping, and Facility
The staff at the Majestic Hotel are all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Also, the rooms and facility are clean and well maintained.
The floor in room 311 is creaky in a few places. I suspect that could be a problem for the people in the room below 311.
Was close to the Metro which was why we were up in the city. Nice little hotel. Rooms seemed a bit dated but was a nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed our stay.
Bed was a bit uncomfortable but most are when I travel.
Great Stay and Great Value for the luxury
The room was clean, there were 2 refrigerators and a microwave and a sitting room with plenty of space (although bathroom was a tad tight)... The halls were clean, mostly quiet and the staff was always going out of their way to help and be personable. Breakfast actually had protein (I'm a nutrition expert) instead of just 27 selections of carbs) so it was good enough to use as a real first meal and not a start/holdover till a real meal. We loved it. Wife and I might even make going there a tradition each holiday season.
The ceiling fan in the room rocked enough when turned on that it made racket with the pull string as it swung around, and the radiator for heat was awkward to figure out. Parking is "close" but not in an adjacent building; it's oddly on the other side of the block the hotel is situated on and requires wrapping around the streets to get to...this is more than offset with $22 per day parking with coming/going rights... For Chicago, this is cheap and handy, since you can leave and reset the countdown at any time (the 24 hour countdown).
The rooms, breakfast
Parking. Had a parking ticket in the morning.
Great Staff Great Location
ITs OLD kids going to the Cubs game were EVERYWHERE - cute but loud Creaking floors Typical American breakfast (blue milk w no fat and cheap cereals/breads)
It was nice to be able to relax in the lounge room and read a book
I would've like a restaurant/bar the shower was awful. no water pressure. it took way too long to take a shower
friendly and helpful staff. esecially mona at the front desk. nice breakfast and very nice reception room/breakfast room.
They had no record of me registration through your service. none. I was lucky to get a room!!!!!!!!
Closeness to the Lakefront and good restaurants
parking was reasonable but not convenient
The style looks comfort, and the room suite is like a family room. People are very nice, like you feel back to home or some good friend's house.
No heater in room, no coffee pot, water need to be purchased, breakfast needs microwave or just cake and coffee. elevator is small and stairs are noisy, while these two are okay to us. Parking lot is one block away in an apartment building.
The room was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable
The speed of free internet connection was slow and not allow me to use certain applications like Fring.
friendliness, extremely helpful with restaurants, getting transportation
No
Friendliness of staff, the size of the hotel was just right for us, offered a free room upgrade on arrival
Location not the best if you're there mainly for shopping as it's a good 10 minute taxi journey to the Magnificent Mile or over an hours walk!
Staff was friendly and parking was very easy
Convenience and ambiance
We would have liked help with our luggage (we are mature women with arthritis and the lift door was impossible to manage) and we would have liked coffee-making facilities in the room
Good location, clean enough, simple but adequate selection for breakfast in nice room
