I was the only one in our group that liked the old school feel the room had to offer. The others thought it was tacky and incredibly outdated. The location was fantastic for our first tour of Chicago as well!!!
The glasses inside of the room had lipstick on them. I reported this to the lady behind the desk and I do not think she believed me. She gave me a pack of plastic cups and sent me on my way. This was fine but the reaction was not as I expected. It was as if dirty dishes in the room was a common occurrence. The pillows felt worn out and chunky, the bed was very hard (good for me, not the others in the group) and the lighting needs improvement. It felt like I was a cave dweller the entire stay. The fitness room was an absolute joke. Rusted benches, worn down treadmills and a filthy environment. Whitehall really dropped the ball on the only amenity offered. The lack of care and passion put into the hotel will be the reason I do not return. I suggest you do the same.
Warm welcome very polite staff. They greeted my dog Zeech as well. He had a great time and also liked the view.
If I could have stayed longer.
Location. Cleanliness. Room size. Comfortable bed.
Would hope to get a better view for the expense. Also, would have helped to know facilities such as the gym were closed due to COVID.
The room was great!
Great spot for seeing a play at Broadway playhouse and eating Francesca!! Loved it!
I have no recommendations. Everything i needed was there!!
Location was awesome. Staff was excellent.
The bar didn’t open till 4pm. The carpet in the room was kind of dirty. I couldn’t let my son crawl around on it. Very cool hotel though.
location bed/sheets/pillows very comfy shower/bathroom bar
A good overall stay
Location was excellent and bed was super comfortable!
Parking at the hotel was $65 a night and didnt find this out till I saw a $533 charge on my room. At no point did they mention it.... also its $10 if you want a microwave in your room which I feel is a cheap trick for a hotel like this.
Not much to like other than the convenient downtown location.
Dimly lit, old dirty hallways and equally old, poorly kept rooms. If I wasn't so tired I would have gone elsewhere.
Great Location/Excellent Price!
Located in the heart of Gold Coast, close to great food and shopping. Best value....
Smelly, old rooms. Not 4 star
Nothing. Will not be back .
Room and hall smelled of smoke . Rooms do not look like pictures - beat up furniture , old tattered carpets, needs deep cleaning and painting at the minimum . Not a 4 star property .
The room was clean, though very dark, and the bed was comfortable. As others have pointed out, it is within walking distance of most downtown shopping areas and about half an hour from the Magnificent Mile.
The front desk staff were clipped and curt, which was unexpected, and made for a chilly welcome to the Windy City. As mentioned, the room was darker than expected, and the two outlets for charging equipment were located along the far wall, underneath the desk, which had a drawer that would not close. This drawer's corners caused several near-accidents, unsurprisingly. The bathroom was clean and pleasantly designed, but very small. We were dissatisfied with the room service and front desk experience. When we ordered breakfast, we expected more than a few eggs on an English muffin, and we received two small scones, rather than our order of a scone and a croissant. When this was mentioned at checkout, I was told that a manager would give me a call, which never happened.
