New, clean, spacious rooms, very nice interior design, very good breakfast (fresh fruit!), just 10 minutes walk from the coast, enjoyable salonroom, tranquil environment.
Great place to stay! Couldn't have asked for anything more from the gracious, friendly and thoughtful hostess that owns and operates The Crown Baron. After our first day of being there she noted the tea I liked at breakfast she made sure to have it in our room at the complimentary tea and coffee bar for the rest of our stay. The breakfast was made with a lot of local organic ingredients and was served in stages. Loved having warm crossiants and rolls, choice of how you wanted your eggs, freshly pressed orange juice and a delicious fruit salad each day. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach/dyke and even though we didn't have the best weather we were still able to make the most of it with the complimentary storm umbrellas that the hotel provides. The rooms are beautifully restored and yet offer every modern ammentiy you could ask for. Will definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.
Amazing place. Full of joy.
Owner was extremely charming, friendly and helpful- booked bike hire for us and bikes were delivered to hotel so no need to collect. Very quiet location. Room very large, clean and comfortable Very good breakfast - all freshly made and good quality.
No dislikes but you do need transport - car or bicycle as the hotel is in a residential area with few services. Nearest bus top is some distance away. Nearest restaurant is also several minutes away on foot or on bike.
This is the perfect place to go if you want to relax and enjoy. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, and the bathroom is also big enough for two people at the same time. Make sure you don't miss the fruit salad at breakfast! It was freshly prepared for us each morning, and absolutely delicious. In all public rooms there is slight piano background music, also in the breakfast area. It made such a lovely atmosphere that we could have stayed there all day. One thing: The staircase is quite steep (as often in dutch houses). So if you have problems with steps that might be an issue. The seaside is only a 5 - 10 minutes walk from the hotel away, to reach the nearest sandy beach will take another 5 minutes. Den Helders city center with its restaurants and attractions is a 5 minute drive by car. In short: We loved to stay at Baron Crown and look forward to return some day in the future.
