Very clean, lots of closet space. Great breakfast.
The mattress was too soft, so I had a bit of back pain the next day.
Spacious rooms, comfy beds. Food is very good, both breakfast and supper. The spa area is nice - pool quite small but still nice to have a dip. The location is good, a short walk to the town centre for restaurants and shops, and the train station for connection to ski areas. It's a 5 min drive to the nearest ski lift, easy traffic and parking IF you set off early enough. Nice afternoon tea provided at the hotel, between 4 and 6pm.
WiFi quite poor on the top floor. Limited free parking spaces (less than 10) and if using their garage there is a E6.50 per night charge, which we hadn't been warned about. Very few channels on the TVs.

Superb location close to train station. A stylishly decorated hotel. My room was comfortable and clean with views over mountains and ski slopes. As a single, retiree traveller the hotel staff looked after me so well. I only have complete praise for all the staff. Breakfast was great but dinners as part of 1/2 board were the standout- 4 courses each night. Each course was presented beautifully with silver service. Wine was reasonably priced as was a la Carte menu. Staff were always willing to answer my tourist and ski questions. There is a pleasant lounge area for chilling out and afternoon tea provided every afternoon. I would not hesitate to recommend Wittelsbacher Hof.
I was blown away by the views from my room on the third floor (see photo) as the hotel is elevated slightly also, looking down over up-town Garmisch. You can clearly make out several ski lifts and even skiers, making it ideal for 'people watchers'. To the East as well, the Zugspitze is clearly seen; made even more impressive when the mountain cuts through clouds as weather fronts advance through the Alps. Simply stunning. The staff were very friendly, accommodating, and spoke perfect English.
For those sensitive to light whilst sleeping it may be worth requesting a room facing north as the light does leak through the curtains, even at night.
