Pros: Everything about this hotel was more than perfect and so far this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff is well trained and handle guests with respect; the way we were treated from checking in to checking out was brilliant!! The room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable and did not lack anything. The interior of the building has been tastefully done and is of high quality. We had dinner at Il Lago with its fine Italian cuisine, excellent wine list and impeccable service. I highly recommend the Bergues to anyone who values perfection!

Cons: The restaurants were a dissappointment. Service in the Il Lago restaurant wasn't up to Michelin star standards and the steak we ordered was chewy. When we mentioned this to the staff, they didn't seem to care. The staff in the coffee and bar lounge (I forgot the name of it) were not friendly and the service was slow on the two occasions we tried it. Other than the restaurants, the hotel is fantastic and one of the best we've stayed in. We would definitely come back, but would probably give the restaurants a skip.

Cons: Hotel is in dire need of a renovation. The elevators are ancient, slow and can only manage 2 persons with baggage. Probably can't fix this...but room lock technology was not working well. For me and someone else at that same time. Rooms are clean but spartan...lacking any design creativity. Bathtub/shower is too narrow, deep and combination with a smooth floor makes for an awkward (and hazardous) in/out. For the rate I was charged, I expected much better.

Cons: Parking is a big problem, also in Geneva. Behind of hotel is suitable for parking but i think hotel doesn’t have good contacts like four seasons hotel to make an agreement between authorities. Because they (four seasons) has a comfortable area for their guests. Reception told us that there is a parking of hotel which is 50 frank per night but you could find cheaper parking around the public parking lots. That’s all.

Pros: Location is excellent, close to everything, superb supermarket manor only 100m away. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Also good price compared to other geneva hotels. Shower was good and room was quite warm enough. Geneva is v v expensive.

Cons: It is an old hotel, so rooms are dated, and sofa bed not comfy. Main bed was ok. Would have been good to have a kettle in the room

Cons: Room very old fashioned, even smells dusty, warm, dry air, no working airconditioning, location at busy square with a lot of traffic, even during the night. I couldn't sleep because of the noise and the poor quality of the air in the room (warm, dry, lack of oxygen). Opening a window was not an option because of the noisy traffic....
