Lovely spacious room and very comfortable
Only location, just next to the lake and the cener of the town.
Awful smell in the room and in the bathroom. Old style hotel, not renovated therefore feeling of dirt and not healthy. Reception opened only until 18, after you have to go to the other hotel to pick the key to enter. Theoreticaly view on the lake but mostly covered by the big Casino building on the lake shore. Breakfast ok but no warm dishes and not well cooked croissants.
Very clean, spacious room and a good breakfast. Very good location close to the lake and a short walk to the town centre.
Parking not available onsite because it was full but satisfactorily provided access to the hotel opposites carpark. During the heatwave I would have liked to sleep with the windows open but found the traffic noise a little intrusive.
The location is fantastic. The lake in Gérardmer is very clean and surprisingly warm, with ducks and trout to keep you company. They also rent boats, but we did not take one out. Just some swimming. The hills around Gérardmer are also great with plenty of hiking and biking (on and off road) and lots of clean, fresh air. I'm sure they're even more fun in the winter. The bike trails range from beginner to advanced, but it's no bike park so don't expect jumps or obstacles, just rocks, roots and 20%+ climbs. Downtown is small and only interesting once. However, Colmar is about 45 minutes away down a really great road. However, if you like to drive fast, make sure you go early in the morning or late in the evening. Otherwise you'll spend your time dogging caravans and campers driven by terrified tourists.
The room had really weird decor. They call it "the love" room all hearts and red drapes. Looked cheesy. Like then inside of a really cheep bordello. The room was also pretty small and had no view of the lake even though the hotel is right next to it. Also looked into their "Hollywood" room. That one was even worse, all in black like the inside of a funeral parlor. Breakfast was mediocre. Just some cheese, salami and croissants. We stayed two nights, so the second morning we just went to the bakery down the street, which is quite good.
Exceptional value for money. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the lake. We also used the swimming pool at Beau Rivage, welcome refresher after a long journey.
