Better than expected
I can see why this used to be 5 stars. Big complex surrounding a humongous pool, resort style. Much better than other 4 stars. Like everything in Egypt right now, they could improve on cleaningness. It is really details. The bed sheets were very good. The room was ample. Furniture a little dated, but in good shape (old tv though). The breakfast was very plentiful and varied. Even the restaurant, La pagoda, has good food at surprisingly good prices (same as eating in a fast food chain outside). I would just start an education campaign with the staff to see details, like a dead mosquito here, a dirt stain in a wall, things that can be solved with more attention rather than money, or somebody with a brush and some paint, to restore the previous glory. But again, saw this in all the four stars I stayed. They need my maid --an OCD machine--, or somebody like her that can "see", and these places will be back in their glory. Overall, a good stay.
Unfriendly unprofessional staff
Unfriendly unprofessional staff that makes you feel that thwy don't want to work
Broaken air condetioner thay was nwver fixed.
Almost nothing. I will not visit the hotel again for sure
Very old rooms that needs major renovation I got food poisoning after having dinner in the hotel restaurant (the Villa) Towels on the pool are very old and most of them are dirty No chlorine used for the pool leading to very smelly water Definitely this is below 3 stars hotel although it is marked as 4 stars
The layout and design of the resort, large room size
Cleanliness is poor, dusty furniture ad bathrooms. Bathroom shower needs repairing. Air-conditioner needs servicing, very noisy. Cataract Pyramids Resort is definitely not 5-star, more of a low 4* hotel.
The pool was the best thing at the hotel.
Staff were not helpful when i had a query, and most of the extra things availble at the hotel such as the gym were not free and you had to pay to use these facilities. Food was extremely expensive in the hotel and extremely poor quality and not value for money. There is no chance this is a 5 star resort as it was very old, not very clean and poor service all round.
The staff and the pool were the best thing about our stay. Everybody, from waiter to lifeguard to cleaner did their best to make our stay really enjoyable.
It is advertised as a 5 star hotel, which it is not by our standards. The Bathrooms could definately do with renewing, although they were kept pretty clean by room service.
pool
location,
I did not find my reservation for an hour untill they overcomed the situation by one way or another
nice resort
when i checked in they allocate me a single room, that the next room has big maintenence and you can stay uncomofort at all due the big noise of the machines, after that they relocated me to another room
breakfast is good, the room is comfortable .
front desk too slow to solve problems we reserved tow rooms because there were four of us..reservations confirmed by email however when we checked-in they claimed they didn´t have one of the reservations..after holding forth we called for the manager.this never happened because he never showed up..they charged for two rooms although we had to share just one room. be aware of it.
the actual hotel and the setting
hotel staff at the restaurant need to be trained, the credit card machine at the reception not working, heard this from a friend who stayed in this hotel last year, nothing still done!!
nothing
the worst service i ever seen, and my room was not 5 star the said that i have to pay more if i want to get reasnobil room size, the room was very small. compare to other 5star hotels the cataract pyramids is 3 star or the most 4 star. i have stayed in 5 star hotel befor and allways and they have 24 hour services but not in this one!
The swimming pool is fantastic, the hotel grounds are beaitiful, the staff is friendly and helpful
The TV in the outdoor restauraunt has a terrible picture abd should be replaced with a plasma ot LCD.
