Cost effective and good place to spend the night for a day or two... Very good breakfast though.
Room was in the attic on the third floor. There is no lift access. There is paid parking on the street but availability close to the hotel is scarce.
I thought booking a place for $30usd would mean I'd be in a whole in the wall, but the Victorian house was really great! The room was huge and the bed was big and comfy. There was also enough space for a couch by the large bay window to allow aaalll the Glaswegian sun in. A fully cooked breakfast in the morning, including black pudding, for only $30? What a deal! Definitely recommend to friends, in fact I already have.
The only thing I didn't like was the pillows were a bit hard.
It was a great location for visiting Glasgow. I first had a single room on the ground floor. After roaming around Glasgow,I came back to relax. My TV wasn't working. The gentlsn at the front desk tried to fix it. Since he couldn't... He put me ins double with hard wooden floors and a much nicer room! No extra charge!!! Breakfast was plentiful and beings vegetarian... Lots to choose from.
The rugs on the halls are old.
The relaxed buffet style breakfast, the closeness to the city centre, the comfortable beds and friendly staff.
even though it was in the city both my wife and i had a great nights sleep , but feel your breakfast time to finish is to early ,i think ten oclock is a better time , but enjoyed my time there and would recommend it
nine thirty is to early to finish breakfast
nice receptionist,working elctric ketle,
creaking bed after each movement, noisy toilet tank,
the check in staff were very helpfull and friendly, a short walk into the city centre, breakfast was very good, ideal for one or two night stay
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent, making this hotel good value for money for a short trip to Glasgow. It was also close to the town centre, but far enough away from a main street to make it reasonably quiet,
The hotel was a little shabby and in need of a bit of updated decoration.
location, staff, food,
I liked the location of the hote in the centre of Glasgowl and the food for breakfast.
I did not like: a) the shabbiness of carpets and upholstery and the damaged furniture; b) unclean room, especally the bed linen and the towels; c) the behaviour of hotel receptionists who (with one exception) were not as helpful and kind as might have been expected
Friendliness of staff. Ability to open window for fresh air
Although hotel now 'No Smoking' my bedroom still smelt strongly of cigarette smoke - enough to keep me awake at night. Room could do with a lick of paint to freshen the facilities.
the fact it was in a good location
yes, the room was very stufy, the hotel was quite old and had no elevator - had to climb 4 flights with very heavy bags! obviously nolt suitable for disabled ppl
I asked for a ground floor room, and was out right up in the attic, I did not feel the staff was helpful at all, as I have a heart condition this meant that I didn't come and go as I would have liked, I was not offered any recompence for this either.
