Very close to the city.
Perfect location (although up a very steep hill). Clean & comfortable big room. The male on reception was lovely & very helpful.
Parking was a bit of a nightmare but once you find somewhere you get a ticket from the hotel to display for £2. Just be careful as in the morning after (expires 10am) we bought another ticket to last to the afternoon, but it was too late! Parking ticket as we got there 20 minutes late
The property is advertised as having parking. This is misleading. It is street parking which you need to hunt for. You could readily be 500m away and have to climb a hill to get to the hotel from where you park. The filter for parking should be removed from this hotel.
Staff attitudes very poor especially in the dining area. No toiletries supplied. Ancient shower with ill-fitting curtain which forced me to use a towel to prevent flooding below me. King sized bed was two single bases locked together with two single mattresses on top of that which made for a really uncomfortable 3 nights. Plug sockets were heating up when anything was switched on. Surely extremely dangerous. Long black hairs everywhere. Definitely not mine which made me think the room hadn't been cleaned properly. Couldn't leave the windows open for air due to the weight and age of same. Scottish breakfast was so poor I only had one over my 3 night stay. This place should be avoided. It was that bad I felt embarrassed for the non-UK guests staying there. The so called renovation seems to have been going on for ages and the place is covered in signal and paint marks and bare floors. Finally the back garden is a tip and not what you want to see when eating your meals. I saw 1 rat definitely and possibly 2. Nightmare.
